Old Colonial, Weston-Super-Mare by Marston's Inns

The hotel has a cracking pub and beer garden, with spectacular sea views. The menu looks good, but we ate when we were out and about on the town, so unfortunately didn't sample the food. Good size room, with everything in it that you would expect or hope for. Friendly and informative staff. We enjoyed our stay and would go back and recommend the hotel to anybody.

I'm only putting this here, as the survey is asking for negative comments as well as positive. The view of the hotel from the outside lets it down a little bit, but that is just a very minor point, and nothing that a lick of paint couldn't fix. Didn't spoil our break in any way.

Great location on the seafront with good views over toward the Grand Pier. We stayed in hot conditions. The aircon in the restaurant was very welcome. Good food, so good we had the same dinner each day! My partner said the fish was some of the tastiest he has had. Great that there were a few free designated parking spaces around the back. Very welcome indeed. Usual quality and comfortable Marston's Inn beds.

Nothing to see here! We had a couple of little issues but they were resolved quickly. I am getting prompted to say more here....but nothing to mention.

A beautiful hotel with a lovely view of the pier, excellent service, and a perfect location in Weston-super-Mare. we were greeted with warm and friendly staff who made our stay absolutely amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large bed, TV, and beautiful ocean views. The en-suite bathroom was spotlessly clean and well-stocked with towels and toiletries. The food at the Pub/restaurant was delicious every time, even our fussy children ate all their food without any complaints. This beautiful and historic building exceeded our expectations even though the weather wasn't the greatest during our stay we still had a blast. We can't wait to return!

The was nothing we didn't like. This was the first time our children stayed in a hotel and they loved it as much as we did.

We checked in late just as the bar was closing on a Sunday night on the way to Cornwall and we received amazing service from the check in guy with the plaited beard (we actually feel bad that we didn’t ask his name!) He directed us to a late closing, alternative bar that we would have happily picked ourselves if we knew the area which really showed his skills of understanding his guests! Room was great, Thanks so much for turning a potentially dull Sunday night arrival into a great start to our holiday!

great venue that needs a lick of paint and a refurb outside

Locations was perfect and easy to find. The entrance is a little bit of a walk, only one way in and out around the front decking area. Reception staff was helpful and friendly. Room was easy to access. I had a double. Plenty of space. The usual decor. It was a minute walk to my main destination - Winter Garden Pavilion. Breakfast was nice as well. I ordered extra and the food was hot and perfectly cooked. Overall experience I would use this place again. Heard a few people running around in the middle of the night. Surprisingly it wasn't very loud which meant good thick walls.

The bed was two singles put together, so there was a middle ridge which wasn't too uncomfortable. The bathroom was spacious, but the toilet tank was surprisingly loud and ran for a long time. There was free parking for guest, but I didn't know exactly where it was until I parked up and asked in reception. Maybe a note on the system to explain that it's on the far right facing the building. Other than that, no issues at all. Personally for me, the above are not deal breakers and the accommodate was exactly what I needed. I did forget my phone charger though.. Doh! lol

Warm welcome, friendly staff, the room was warm and had a fabulous sea view. It was spacious with plenty of wardrobe space, modern and large TV and a quality kettle in the room plus hairdryer.. The double bed was massive, bedding crisp and clean and the bed was so comfortable, one of the best nights sleep in an hotel. In the bathroom were Dove soap and shampoo dispensers. The bar downstairs served food all day and I can recommend the Fishfinger sandwich. The breakfast is extra £8.75 for a full English. It was good though! All-round a lovely day and night here. The free parking was one of the reasons we stayed here as well as the reviews.. We would definitely stay again.

The exterior is very tired and the hotel looks downtrodden,, we pulled up and immediately thought it was going to be awful. It wasn't, which you can see in the good stuff. The waiter in the morning told us that it is due a massive refurbishment next year and that will certainly lift the place and brighten it. The furniture and fittings in the bar are worn, marked and tired.

One of the bar men was not very friendly and was quiet grumpy when ordering food of a evening, one evening he very bluntly told me they wasn't doing food, witch then the cook who was stood their at the time said they was doing food and why was he telling customers they wasn't serving food and told him to take my order. So he was quiet grumpy when taking the order. Other than that the rest of the staff and the hotel was perfect.

From the outside looks a little run down....but food was great . Staff really helpful and friendly and queen size bed on the family room was more comfortable than the one at home...Will 100% stay here again

The chain Marston could improve this buy giving the place a little update and a fresh coat of paint ...but one threw the door's there is no complaint....only stairs tho so wouldn't be good for people with serious mobility issues which is a shame

The staff were incredibly happy, friendly and helpful. As a female travelling alone felt safe and acknowledge that some of that was due to the staff who worked there. Nothing was too much trouble

The building itself is tired and needs a lick of paint and refurbishment. I was on the first floor, and the little balcony that sticks out had holiday debris on it and this needs cleaned. However, I acknowledge that the staff shouldn't do this as it is dangerous and needs to be managed from the outside using scaffolding.

In a fantastic location, near to everything, had a lovely big room with a lovely sea view. Very clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I left some clothes in the wardrobe and rang them when I got back and asked if they could post them back to me. The woman I spoke to was really nice and said she would see what she could do. I’ve just received them only 3 days later. I’m very grateful 😊 would definitely stay again.
