Dunstan House

Friendly professional staff Good size room fresh en-suite comfy bed. Had starter and desert, both good. Desert imaginative. Lots of nice little rooms and places to sit and relax, eat and drink, or in my case read a book. Garden tables. Nice breakfast.

Shower was a little bit tacky, and I couldn’t turn it off. Didn’t cause a problem as I was leaving. Both taps in sink ran scalding hot water.. The room was next to some sort of motorized hotel machine making a droning sound. Luckily it went off before I slept, and came on after I woke up in the morning.

Very nice pub with a great outdoor area and a good vibe. Had a great stay and would definitely recommend this!!

I booked this on booking for £56 but had to pay £70. This is due to booking.com and not the fault of Dunstan House. We agreed that I would contact booking about it. But in hindsight I feel they should have charged me the £58 and they would sort out the rest with booking.com. That is what I would have done out of hospitality.

I felt that the main menu was lacking, and I spent more time in the Green King further down love lane. The room was advertised as having WIFI but I had to move into the corridor or down to the bar to get the WIFI in this day and age with everything on line I struggled to book days out and keep in contact with family

the food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. the room was very spacious and had all the facilities we needed including a comfortable seating area and plenty of storage space. we enjoyed the hospitality tray, which offered more than hot drinks with the option to pay for additional snacks which were provided. there was a good range of toiletries in the spacious bathroom. Room service was available during restaurant/bar hours if desired. we would certainly come to your establishment again and recommend to others.

we cannot think of anything we didn't like. There was only one thing there was a minor issue with, the TV control handset which was quickly resolved.

Lovely place for an overnight stop, staff were very polite and helpful. Room was very clean, nicely decorated, comfy bed and lovely little treats left in the room; plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate to use. Fabulous fluffy towels and nice toiletries avaliable to use too. Breakfast was very nice, offers vegan options. Large garden area to sit in if the weather is kind. Plenty of parking. Nice relaxing atmosphere.

The room wasn't very big, adequate for our needs but if we you were planning a longer stay you may want to enquire if there is a larger room, depends upon personal choice. We had dinner in the pub, sadly it wasn't great, very greasy fish and chips and a not so tasty Beef burger. To be fair the waiter enquired if we enjoyed the food when he saw all the leftovers on the plates. He apologised and kindly took something off the bill as a token gesture which we hadn't expected.

I honestly cannot rate Dunstan House highly enough. the staff in particular were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, helpful and just really great. Nothing was too much for them and they really made our stay fantastic. The food was also really excellent and as we stayed for Christmas that was quite important so bravo - it was brilliant! Also they were so flexible and accommodating with our dog Toby (who also rated the place 10 paws out of 10 🐾)

Nothing. This was honestly the best place I’ve ever booked on booking.com (which seems strange perhaps because on the surface you may just think it’s a pub with some rooms… but I really think the staff just made it so much more). 10/10

The location is convenient. The breakfast selection was also good. The room was comfortable overall. Car parking was convenient.

The shower head was handheld, which meant you were forced to take a bath, not too convenient in the morning. The room was a little warm, but the weather was unusually hot. We had dinner elsewhere, as the hotel had run out of a critical ingredient for our desired selection.

Great location located around 10mins from the beach front, depending on your walking pace. We stayed here in rms 2 and 3 as a family of 4 on route to Torquay. Rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean. There was a full range of tea and coffee making facilities plus snacks (extra cost). Very comfy bed and pillows better than my own at home oh and the on site burger shack was fab!

Only downside and it wasn't really a problem for us, was the shower drained very slowly. We informed reception who were already aware.

We had a overnight stay, the staff were all very welcoming, polite and we had a lovely lunch and breakfast.. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy. It was an ideal location too.. We highly recommend this property.. And are booked to stay in December..

I would of preferred a shower , in the bathroom we had been given it had a shower hose .. This is my only dislike , as i do prefer a shower .. I thought the treats were free , didn’t take advantage of that , had plenty of coffee, tea and milk.

Pleasant staff, clean tidy, great atmosphere ,reasonably priced, great food, excellent B&B close to all amenities would recommend a visit either for a drink or a meal or both !! Full English breakfast in the morning cooked fresh, excellent quality would recommend 👌

Brocken fire door handle broken off , Someone messing around knocking on your door at silly hours o'clock in the morning and running away
