Excellent room with a nice little kitchen staff were friendly

Was frustrating trying to find Hotel as alot of the roads/pathways are closed off for major works being done, not the fault of the hotel but maybe could be better worded on website. Its ok when park is open as its like a 15 minute walk to York town centre but after 10pm when the park shuts its like a 1.5 mile walk. Hotel does offer free taxi service but only till 10pm which doesnt really make sense. Not the fault of the hotel but it could be more clearly worded on the website as if your booking somewhere close to the centre after 10 its actually a massive detour to get back.

Great staff to meet you upon arrival. Breakfast was quite easy. One could take it to their room. The fact that the coffee was available anytime of day was a plus. Location was perfect, right by the river, just minutes walk to the centre, very quiet area. Room was up to specs, very clean, comfortable bed and can't say enough for the shower, We will definitely visit again and next time we will upgrade to a room with a better view.

I liked having the option of casting to your TV with an App, that enabled us to see films on Netflix in the bedroom. The 2 shower heads were very good, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The presence by the river Ouse meant that it was tranquil, but not too far from the city. The circular river walk is very good too.

There were no options of having porridge sachets this time. We had been with Roomzzz York on 2 previous occasions, the last time being in September 2022 and porridge had been offered as part of the takeaway breakfast. The parking is also very expensive at £15 per day. When we went to Roomzzz York in August 2020 there were no parking fees. With the ringgo App, it is possible to stay in St George's car park for £72 per week a saving of £33. Housekeeping is a little hit and miss, the towels were not changed for 4 days. We are undecided whether we will return, as the cost of the rooms have increased, but the services haven't.

Complementary continental breakfast each morning, which was very much appreciated. The room was extremely quiet, and the cheeky free upgrade to a river view was the icing on the cake. The staff were lovely, the room was clean, quiet, and easy to reach. The location was perfect - on the banks of the Ouse, and just a 15 minute walk from the Shambles/York Minster etc.

The air con / temperature was a little difficult to manage and balance correctly, and I found the air quite dry inside the room. My partner's Beach Wave hair styler seems to have set off the silent fire alarm too - but that's not really an issue - just be aware!

The room was really spacious and kitchen facilities were great. Fab shower and everything really clean. Staff in hotel really friendly and helpful. Loved having the free coffees and pastries in morning. Coffee was freely available from machine any time! Great wee coffee shop with snacks and food available 9-5 but could buy snacks/juice anytime as reception always manned. Really was a great place to stay. Was a bit worried bit far from town centre but is only about 15 mins walk which is nice along river.

Really can't say there was anything I was disappointed with.

Loved the location as it was close to the Barbican theatre and there was parking under the building although it was £15 a night it’s a city centre hotel so park it’s at a premium, there was a continental breakfast and coffee to help yourself.

The room I booked had a settee and table and chairs but our room only had chairs, I always book a hotel room with a table so I was abit gutted you could tell there had been a table because there was marks on the floor but we were only there 1 night, if we’d stayed longer I might if asked, didn’t spoil our stay it’s just I booked the room knowing it’d have one.

We got a free upgrade on arrival. Staff were friendly and very helpful with any queries. Breakfast and hot drink machine was free and were of good quality. The breakfast pastries were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Distance from the centre was good and walking down the river bank into town was enjoyable. No issues with our experience at all.

The only thing we were disappointed about was that the bathrobe and slipper packages are not able to purchase on demand, but that was on us for not ordering this in advance. The staff were lovely and gave us little toiletries gift bags to apologise despite it being our fault for not thinking ahead.

The hotel was in a great location, it was quiet with lovely views, parking and a 10 minute walk to the centre/5 minute drive the station.. The staff were really friendly and helpful, they let us check in early and kindly explained the grab and go breakfast. They have free tea and coffee in the lobby and a small store/counter with snacks and essentials to purchase 24/7. We booked 3 different rooms for a hen party, they were spacious, light and modern but our favourite was the fabulous 2 bed loft.

If i was being picky, the pillows were quite hard but I am nit picking! I also thought a bistro set would've been a nice additional to the balcony
