Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Auburn - University Area, an IHG Hotel

Rooms were exceptionally clean and well put together. We had a king room and the bed was HUGE and extremely comfortable! Hotel was close to EVERYTHING! Plus they accept debit cards as payments which is our preference when booking instead of a credit card. Breakfast was top notch as well! Overall, incredible experience. This was our first time in Auburn and my husband and I stated this will be our go-to hotel moving forward when we're in that city!

Nothing! Everything was PERFECT!

The breakfast met our needs; however, the coffee was awful. It was too diluted. Please have employees to double brew the coffee or add more scoops.

The noise. On the second floor, it sounded as though the occupants were jumping up and down and moving furniture. After about 35 minutes, everything ceased. If we could have located where the source was, the front desk staff would have been informed. On this morning, very young baseball players were not stopped by the staff, their families or coaches from running up and down the floor making loud noises. My husband had to address the situation. The young people weren’t apologetic and moved near the entrance.

Normal hotel breakfast. Needs more healthy choices, the only fresh fruit available was banana's, yuck.

Compared to other hotels I have been to, the price for one nights stay was about 20-30 dollars more than I believe the value of the room. And the carpets had just been shampooed throughout the entire hotel so there where fans everywhere. I understand that carpets need to be cleaned, but why all at the same time, and if your going to have fans everywhere at least explain the reason why to the guest when they are checking in. I had to ask about them, and when I did the desk clerk told me, but acted like it was none of my business or that I was being rude somehow by asking such a question.

The rooms had enough counter space to spread out luggage and swim gear. The bathroom had a bar below sink that had fresh towels, but we moved them to hang wet things, which really worked for us. Plenty of counter space in bathroom.

Left candy with one front desk employee to share with all front desk employees to thank them for all their cheefulness and help, and she kept to herself. HI should provide a large bag in closet to move clothes back and fourth to laundry area.

The staff was so polite and friendly and helpful I had a small problem and they fixed it right away. Very happy with our stay.

The only thing that I can say is that it needs a grab bar inside the shower. It is hard for an elderly person to take a shower and not hold on to something. But it was a very good stay.

We have stayed in Auburn many years for events and never tried Holiday Inn express. There were 13 family members and everyone, 5yrs to 70+ years, was very pleased! The staff were polite and helpful; the rooms were clean and comfortable; the breakfasts were AMAZING! Our new go to hotel!

As a friendly recommendation, there needs to be a lock box in the rooms for jewelry, valuables, etc.

I didn't like that the housekeeping staff was not identifiable. They would knock on the door and have on regular street clothes so it was a little alarming. They were nice and helpful however.

The staff was super. Very polite, attentive and knowledgeable. The room was updated, clean and had comfortable beds. The breakfast was good with a reasonable variety of hot and cold items. The location is close to Auburn University and the Interstate and has restaurants nearby.

The floors could have been a bit cleaner but they were about standard for what I'm finding in most hotels.

Good location for getting to the Auburn University campus. Several options nearby for meals. Nicely done layout for breakfast and for gym.

Unfortunately, an employee was arrested in the front parking lot upon our arrival. Was recently hired per manager and such is some of today’s work force. Wish you could get housekeeping daily or some towel racks if not.

Everything was great. Not 1 complaint. Staff was very nice and room was clean and beds were so comfortable. Oops forgot 1 thing. The shower gel and conditioner were out but I had brought my own so everything was fine. That would be my only compliant. Everything else was great! Not far from the university and Walmart. Right down from the interstate exit.
