La Quinta by Wyndham Opelika Auburn

The property was new so the rooms had very little wear. Even the common areas had modern furnishings with little wear. The breakfast was actually quite impressive for a continental, as you don’t see them like this very often! The bathroom and room was very clean and the bed was super comfy! The shower had good pressure and super hot water. Soundproofing was good aside from the door area which opened to the corridor but it wasn’t too bad to keep anyone awake. Location and parking were both good! Competitive pricing and the highest rating in the area! The staff were pleasant and I guess the property is pet friendly too. We didn’t use them, but other common areas include a cute little bar, swimming pool and outdoor gathering area. There’s also shopping, restaurants and a new movie theatre within a few minutes!

Honestly, there’s not much. If I HAD to dislike something, I would say our bathroom door knob needed some adjusting and it should be a habit of housekeeping to check if previous guests left an alarm turned on. That was an unpleasant surprise at 05:45!

The location was perfect. We were traveling from the Gulf Shores to NC and stopped over for the night. Very convenient to Auburn for a nice dinner. The facilities were very clean. I was very surprised at how much detail was taken to make sure everything was top notch. I have spent a lot more money for less. From check in to check out the people working there were very nice. Breakfast was amazing. Pancakes, sausage gravy, biscuits, fruit, yogurt, and so much more. I would recommend this place to anyone and if traveling back through would definitely stay again.

The location was awesome! Very convenient to the highway, short distance to Auburn University, surrounded by gas stations, restaurants, a movie theater, and a shopping center. The cost was very reasonable. The facility and rooms were modern looking and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was fairly good (cereal, bananas, muffins, milk, instant oatmeal, yogurt, grits, toast, bagels, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, breakfast potatoes, shredded cheese, sausage gravy, biscuits, pancakes, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice, apple juice, bacon, and sausage). The staff was very friendly. There's a nice pool (I think it was closed for the season) and outdoor patio. We appreciated the onsite laundry facility, too.

The pillows were not comfortable at all. The ice machine on our floor (2nd floor) had been removed, so we had to go to the first floor to get ice. The card scanner on the back door didn't work, and I found out it was just left unlocked.

The staff that cleaned our room during our stay (Tony) did an excellent job and Ms. Bonnie that took care of breakfast Thursday and Friday of our stay was very friendly and attentive and very helpful!! Our little girl LOVED the Tigerbot, she called and ordered towels and water each night of our stay just to have him come to our room. He was quick and accurate and a very friendly robot!!

The pool could have bit cleaner and the towel supply at the pool a bit better, we had to use our room towels one day but the Tigerbot brought us some more :-). The rooms are a bit smaller than others but was comfortable and clean!

Thought we had missed breakfast the first two mornings, because there was no indication of where the breakfast was set up. When I found it was on the last day and didn't have time to enjoy the wonderful spread! The staff was amazing and so very helpful when I arrived. The lady that greeted us upon arrival was so, so nice!

Cleanliness was a big issue. The beds were great, but the bathroom was lacking in cleanliness and supplies. There was no body wash nor lotion available. The tub wouldn't drain and the toilet had difficulties flushing.

Chad was wonderful checking us in on New Year's eve. The breakfast is truly awesome(!!!) and can't say that for free breakfasts often, plus the lady staffing the breakfast area New Year's Day morning (wish I had gotten her name) was very welcoming, friendly and helpful - she offered to and retrieved me a box top so I could easily carry breakfast upstairs to my room (and husband). Everyone was wonderful, and people smiled!! You would never know it was a holiday or think anyone minded working it (as we've experienced elsewhere). Lisa checked us out and already had our receipt printed and waiting - she was very friendly and helpful. The property is super clean, updated/modern and comfortable. The staff are fantastic. Great value too. I wish I knew what kind of mattress we slept on but a zippered cover prevented me from seeing the label - best night's sleep in a hotel I can remember having. Wonderful stay and highly recommend this property!!!!

Hardly anything not to like. Loved our stay!!! Only observation is it's unfortunate some less responsible pet owners leave behind their pet's waste (several large dog 'piles' observed around the rear of the property) as we always pick up after our dog when traveling with him. Those who don't reflect poorly on all traveling pet owners and increase costs for additional nightly pet rates.

The staff was wonderful, the hotel and room were clean and attractive. Everyone we had contact with was both kind and professional. We needed a late checkout due to IV medications he has to have right now. Tony (housekeeping) was so kind and helpful and he was able to arrange that for us. We plan to stay there whenever we are in Opelika from now on.

There was never ice in the ice machine. I don’t know if other guests were using it to fill ice chests and kept it emptied out or if it was malfunctioning.

Location is new and is very close to highway. Great food options while in town visiting Auburn University. Paul Mitchell hair products.Furniture and amenities all very modern and environmentally friendly. Easy check in & check out. Prime location to shopping and restaurants.

House keeping could be better, I found some stains in our bathroom but I have very high standards of cleaning. The air filter in the room was disgusting, just filthy not sure when it was last changed but it was gross.

The staff was informative, helpful, professional, polite, and accommodating. Whatever I need they saw to it that I got. The housekeeping was very helpful and nice. I will definitely be making this my go to in the future.

The only thing I didn't like was I guess it's pet friendly. A dog was barking and it kept waking me out of our sleep.

Everything was great. The staff are warm and friendly. The hotel is a strict smoke-free location, which was awesome due to my asthma. They are very attentive to their guest needs, and if they are busy and can not get something to you right away, they have a robotic helper that brings guest supplies to the hotel room door.
