Hercor Hotel - Urban Boutique

The location was great, room was comfortable, staff was awesome and they let us check-in early.

The only things we missed was a microwave and mini fridge.

Breakfast is honestly banging (amazing) for a small hotel and you can snag cooked foods, fruits and cereals. The milk and juice is kept nice and cool and I really appreciated having access to a kettle and microwave outside of the breakfast hours. I was travelling for work and chose the Hercor for it's location in relation to the factory and trolley, so it was good in that regards. There are also food places, convenience stores etc nearby. The carpark is pretty handy if you need it and they have designated spaces for Lyft/Uber drivers to pick you up.

Unfortunately, the trolley station is the end of the line for many who aren't headed for PedEast, so you do get some...interesting people about. I got to see a gentleman dropping his kecks in the carpark to relieve himself. Although it's not the fault of the staff, it's just something I thought worth mentioning for other solo travellers/families. It can be a tad noisy sometimes in the night. It was like some machinery was getting ready to lift off into space, but I've stayed in noisier places.

The breakfast was delicious. I always look for the waffle makers and they didn’t have that but there were more than enough options to get happy and full

I made the two night reservation a day earlier than I meant to. When I called to explain, there was zero accommodation made for adjusting my reservation. I explained that moving my Thursday - Friday booking to Friday - Saturday would actually make them more money because weekends are more expensive but they wouldn’t budge. In the end I booked a third night (much more than I originally intended on spending). We were unable to stay the night for the first night of our reservation so starting my experience there with basically a loss of one night was a hard thing to get over. I was very frustrated with every phone conversation I had with them because of the answer I received. In person everyone was very nice.

Attractive inside and out, clean, friendly staff, close to highway. My husband likes staying here on business trips because it’s modern and convenient.

Staff might explain lights and TV situation as it’s a bit unusual at first to turn lights on in the room. Loud people in hallways until midnight didn’t really bug my husband because he was up anyway, but both stays here he wondered if it bothered others.

The hotel staff were pleasant, courteous, helpful and friendly. The hotel and the room especially exceeded my expectations. I smiled upon entering the room, it was modern, smelled good and so clean. The bed was so comfortable and was happy with the whole experience. I will definitely be returning for my next visit to San Diego. Thank you!

I was happy with everything, I traveled alone and felt safe, secure and comfortable. My room was on the third floor facing the back of the hotel away from the busy street, which I recommend if street noise bothers you.

Everything exceeded my expectations! Short commute to downtown San Diego, Balboa Park and the zoo. I had a minor problem with the TV but when I reported it, it was fixed almost immediately. Great bathroom and shower! Late check-in was not a problem. All the staff were friendly and helpful!

The rooms facing the street are relatively quiet but there is a bit of city noise, as would be expected.

The hotel was very clean and updated. Near places to eat.The beds were extremely comfortable. Shower was nice and hot. Perfect place to sleep for a reasonable price.

it's near a busy road. Request a room on the opposite side of the building. it's way quieter! The walls were kinda thin so we could hear our neighbors talking and walking.

The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good. The location is not in the downtown, but there are a lot of restaurants around and a 7-11 is just next door. You can drive to almost all famous point within 15 minuses.

It will be wonderful if the WiFi could be faster.

The breakfast was sufficient for $5.00. The showers are large and walk-in type. The bed was very compy but only had one pillow. I wouldn't recommend for a large person because the room was very crampted. We had problems figuring out the TV but the desk helped out by coming up and showing us how to use it. We also couldn't figure out the mini coffee maker. We think it might be for espresso. Tini cups. But it was very clean and near the freeway.

The location for this hotel worked perfectly if you are taking Uber of Lyft from Chula Vista to Gaslamp. The area itself is good as it is quiet enough location for you to rest. The room is small but well kept and housekeeping was phenomenal there as they cleaned my room every day I was there, which is rare during COVID times.

Several amenities in the room either didn’t work or required a front desk call. The tv remote was stuck on one Channel and did not change. Unsure if the phone line was busy, but I called front desk several times and it did not work. The iron isn’t in the room and you have to request it, but this item itself stop working while ironing my clothes. Not all the wall outlets worked and it was a guessing game of which did and which didn’t. The AC control did not respond to the buttons I pressed on right away. The alarm clock did not shut off right away and I had shut it off several times before I ended up unplugging and taking out the batteries form the device.
