Holiday Inn Express & Suites Santa Ana - Orange County, an IHG Hotel

The room itself was clean and comfortable. It had a fridge and microwave. The TV was large, and had a port I could fit a Roku stick in. Staff was polite and the lobby market was full. It was well within my expectations.

Lots of homelessness around the hotel. Kind of dumpy area. When we arrived, there was a man obviously on drugs wandering the parking lot. To be fair, away from the cars, but it didn't inspire confidence. Also, a group of younger adults were hanging out in the parking lot in a large group for hours smoking pot. I wouldn't normally care about that, but it made me uncomfortable to park there.

This was our second stay at this location within 5 days. It was our stop before and after a 5 day cruise out of Long Beach, CA. This time, we stayed on the 6th floor facing the pool. The room was a good size and clean. The beds were comfortable. The lights still required a card in the slot by the door to function fully. The pool was very nice, clean, cool water, and towels were provided at the pool. Free parking was a plus! Good security personnel and devices. The TV had a lot of good channels and worked great. The beds were clean and very comfortable. We did not try the breakfast this time because we wanted to get up and leave early to beat the traffic. Being on the pool side, we did not notice the traffic noise as much this time. The staff is very friendly and kind! At 5 a.m., it was EASY onto the freeway and getting out of L.A. on a Saturday morning.

We had some neighbors this time who were very loud and going in and out of their room until after 11 pm. and letting the door slam shut. They were talking and laughing very loudly, and we were trying to sleep early since we were driving 12 hours the next day, starting at 5 am. We did finally get some good sleep after I got up and knocked on their door at 11 pm. They didn't answer, but they got the message. The second elevator was still out of order (we stayed here 5 days before) and there was a bit of a wait for it a couple of times.

we needed to make a last minute adjustment and they were kind and accomodating. they were busy when we were there and treated everyone (even some slightly rude people) kindly in the lobby. The breakfast servers went out of their way to be helpful-we arrived at the very end and they made us second servings even tho it was a couple of minutes before closing the breakfast service and made us feel welcome.

can't really think of anything. Oh. needed more towels in room for 4, only had one set of towels. they fixed it immediately.

We stayed here to visit Disney and it was a good choice, since Disney is 15 minutes away. The entire hotel was super clean. The room is modern, beautiful and comfortable. The beds are super comfortable, the mattresses are super comfortable, I rested very well. I have a problem with my neck and whenever I travel I take my personal pillow, but I don't need it here because the mattress and pillows were super comfortable, like the orthopedic mattress and pillows at my home. The bathroom in the room is very nice and they have Dove brand shampoo, soap and body wash, I loved that, not all hotels give you those things of good quality. Excellent breakfast, very varied and delicious. I definitely recommend this hotel.

I loved the large size of the room, the beds and pillows were super comfortable, large TV on the wall, and lots of space/ storage/hooks for luggage and spreading out!

Pool closed at 8 pm AND THAT IS TOO EARLY! We were very disappointed by that because we had planned on using it. The room was energy efficient and needed a key plugged in at the door to keep electricity on. I can appreciate the concept, BUT GIVE A THIRD KEY! Four people with only one usable key is dumb. Plus, only 3 sets of towels/washcloths in a room capable of holding four people; please leave enough and don’t make me ask for more. In fact, every hotel I stayed at in CA only left 3, and I had to ask for more each night. UGH!

The night staff front desk concierge young lady was exceptional, helpful, and very very sweet. She stated she was new and the info I asked about she wasn't sure on the answer and was a sweet heart and right then and there Resolved the questions I had by asking her manager . Very much enjoyed my stay.

The homeless and drug use out side at night when I was walking my service dog wasn't the greatest feeling being a female at night and no security to keep a eye out. Also no trash cans out side to throw trash away.

We went to Disneyland and I'd say it was in a pretty good location from the park. We rented a car and it took about 15 minutes to get to the theme park. The staff was super nice. I loved that there was a security guard always walking around, and i liked that you had to use a key to open the lobby door after a certain time. I also thought it was pretty awesome that the complimentary products they had in the room were Dove products. I will book here again.

I was bummed that you cant actually go out on the balcony (that was honestly one of the main reasons why I booked that hotel).I didn't like how close our room was to the pool, because people were out at the pool late being loud.Breakfast was okay wasn't that many option to choose from hot breakfast wise. I'm vegan so i was very limited on what I could have at breakfast.

The breakfast is by far the best hotel breakfast I have had in a hotel of this caliber. the rooms are clean and updated, building is secure and despite the typical weirdos of LA being on the streets you feel very safe staying here!

the front desk guy was kind of a Magoo, he said he would call us when our room was ready and never called. when we arrived all he said was, "sorry I didn't call you".. kinda poor service but maybe he was having a bad day.. thats the ONLY thing i didnt like about the stay here

The sausage was under cooked and some eggs need no cheese for people that don’t like cheese

The bed had these rods sticking out my nephew that is a grown man 48 years old smacked his calf on it thank gosh it didn’t break blood but it did leave a bruise thank goodness it wasn’t me or my husband that we are much older and would have been a lot worse we did bring it to the fronts desk attention he said he would have maintenance check it out I hope he did so no one else gets hurt

Breakfast was decent. Lots of choices appealing to many dietary preferences. The bed was very comfortable. Television channel selection/options was below average. Staff were helpful, courteous, pleasant.

Lack of hooks for hanging robes towels in the bathroom. There was only one on the bathroom door, and it was used to hang the hair dryer. Chairs in the main room were not comfortable.
