Breakfast was stellar. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful, but also did not encroach - so got it just right. Bed was very comfortable and room very peaceful and quiet. House is charming and very quaint. And you have the use of a sitting room that gives plenty of space to sit and read.

For us the house and location were perfect. For those who don't know the area, a car is essential as centre of town and the many local amenities are not in walking distance. House is on a main road, so there is some road noise. But the Connecticut bedroom is at the back of the house and so very peaceful.

Very friendly and accommodating hosts that take pride in their property, the neighborhood and the service they provide. Amazing breakfast. The entire place is very clean and organized, and you're just a few miles away from historic attractions and larger cities.

The mattress on our bed is starting to give in a little at the middle, so we were kind of pulled towards the center of the bed and ended up bumping into each other during the night. Nonetheless, this is just a minor complaint. Would stay here again anyway. :)

The Truman Gillett House is nicely decorated and all of the furniture is comfortable and in perfect condition. The common areas, bedrooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. The breakfast is very good, with the hosts checking on your preferences in advance. I had a last minute special food request, and hosts were very accommodating. The location is great and the House is easy to see from the street. The hosts provide enjoyable company and you feel like family while you are there!

There is nothing I would change. I wish I was able to stay longer than two nights.

Very interesting historicial property and lovely yard. The location was perfect for our destination: O'Brien's nursery. The food (breakfast) was delicious and prepared on site. The owner's were very accommodating and available.

My husband is blind and had some difficulty navigation smaller bedroom size. But most areas were not a problem.

They catered to our need. We had 3 competition dogs (quiet and well behaved) that travel and stay in our vehicle. We needed just a place to air them. Although listed as "no pets" this lovely couple allowed us to use their back acre of property to walk our dogs. They advised us as to keep them away from their older rescue dog "Allie" who is a little touchy with other dogs. We saw that they were careful to advise us when Allie would be out being aired. So the place was perfect. We competed in a game management area only 6 miles away so the location was much better than many of the hotels and motels that the host club offered as "accepting pets". Allie was accompanying the host Wayne as he showed us around our digs. It was a lovely experience having a pet dog hanging around. Breakfast was served early as we had asked...since we had to get to the area by 8 am for the start time. Breakfast had fresh fruit both days, meats, and gluten free breads, pancakes to accomdate one person's dietary desires. LOVED THIS PLACE and these hosts! We want to go back asap for the next Simsbury, Conn hunting test for retrievers...!

It was raining..Got soaked walking the dogs. But that was the fault of the stupid rain coat

The location was close to fine dining, Mr. Wayne and his wife Kim were excellent hosts, the house is beautiful and the bed was comfy. The pillows were perfect!

It is close to the road, however once you are in your room the noise diminishes so it's not bad at all.

Very nice and accommodating owners, excellent breakfast, and unbeatable value for what is provided. Great location for biking northern portions of the Farmington Canal Trail, and into Massachusetts.

For the value, I couldn't really expect anything more.

Breakfast was wonderful. Our hosts were very accommodating to our preferences and timing for breakfast. They were also a joy to spend time with. The house has a lot of history.

Our room was very small but adequate. The other room was huge and worth looking at.

The warm hospitality of Wayne and Kim was amazing, and their dog performed tricks for us on the second mornkng of our stay. Particularly enjoyed the different breakfast prepared each morning. The place was easy to find using GPS.

Kim and Wayne were outstanding hosts and it's a very charming house. I've gotten used to AirBnbs, and there's something that felt necessary about sharing breakfast with people I don't know. Met a great couple that was biking across the state and that started my day off the right way. The area is fantastic, too.
