Courtyard by Marriott Jekyll Island

It was a great location. Right there on the beach.

I paid for a room with 2 queen beds and then did a upgrade (more $$) to a full ocean view room with a balcony. They had us in a room in the corner looking at other balconies and there was only a king bed. The staff said basically it was our problem for booking through a 3rd party(meaning booking.com) and there was nothing he could do. The fan didn't work in the bathroom, and light bulbs were out. Also the balcony looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile.

I was amazed at the cleanliness, room, giant shower, closeness to the beach, helpfulness of the staff and closeness to things to do and see! When we arrived-very late at night- our room far exceeded our expectations. I could see and hear the ocean only steps away from our room. Even the rooms not facing the ocean had the sound of the ocean. The room was very clean, spacious and had the most wonderful large shower. Starbucks in the hotel was perfection, the hotel restaurant was relaxing and food was delicious. The grounds were very well kept and kid/adult/dog friendly. I was beyond ecstatic that the hotel was dog friendly! We had the best little beach vacation and can't wait to go back!

The beach access was my priority, then clean but dog friendly. We can’t leave our older dog with someone else. The hotel was pretty nice, with a nice area outside and I appreciate the Starbucks!

Outside trash that stayed in the same place for three days including a pool towel on the grass near a sidewalk for 3 days. That means mgmt was slack and groundskeeping doesn’t care. our patio off our room was great but in dire need of the bugs on the ceiling and sides swept down. I know I’m picky but $1300 for 3 nights🤷🏻‍♀️

The property is very centrally located and the amenities were nice. The pool was nice, the beach was a short walk, and the lobby and bar area were very nice! I liked that the hotel offers bikes to ride the many trails around the island. The room was spacious and very nice but I did not realize that island view meant the parking lot. The hotel charges a $20 per night fee but you get a credit to use at the hotel market or Starbucks so it evens out. The hotel was pet friendly but our room did not smell like dogs at all. I would’ve liked for the room floors to have been a little cleaner but other than that I would definitely stay here again.

It is a beautiful property. My husband and I especially loved the view of the ocean, the sunrise the most, from our room. The bed faced the sliding doors which offered that gorgeous view. The hotel is lovely!

The young lady we had as a server for dinner, was very sweet, however it did take an extremely long time for everything. Thankfully, we weren’t in a hurry. She would definitely benefit with training on organization and managing her time better. A young man from the kitchen came out and began helping and literally did most of the work. He wasn’t a server but took over a lot of the tasks to help. It was not busy, there were literally three tables when we came in and they were at different parts of their meals. We went to the manager and gave high compliments and even tipped the young man. He didn’t want to take the money but we insisted.

Free bicycle use, restaurant onsite, size of the balcony, proximity to the beach

Restaurant could have been a bit more "private" as it almost seemed like it was a lounging area.

Breakfast did not come with our package; only for long term occupants. The location to Jekyll Island Historic District and sites was convenient.

We were very disappointed with housekeeping. We were told (after not having our room cleaned for several days) that housekeeping was only done every 3 days (we presume because of staffing shortage). We had to ask at front desk for fresh towels and paper products (toilet tissue and Kleenex). Trash cans in room were only emptied 1x. We were told to put used towels and trash bags in the hallway outside our room. Not the quality of service we were expecting.

Very attractive lobby and outside patio and pool area; Excellent access to the beach. Bicycles provided for guests.

Disappointed that breakfast was not included in the cost of stay. The on-site restaurant did not serve breakfast either so only option was a small Starbucks for drinks and quick pickups. Service could be slow as a line formed. We had to leave the site to find a full breakfast. Also the outside fireplace was not available after 10 pm. Seemed too early for a vacation spot.

The motel and facilities were beautiful and very clean.. The staff was exceptionally courteous and Helpful.

When 1st entering the island we had to pay an $8 per day [total $56] fee while visiting the island. When we checked out of the hotel there was a $20 per day fee [ total $120] which was also for being on the island.. This to me was in excess and I would have liked to have known about it before I booked the hotel. Also while the room was very clean and comfortable it was small. There were no drawers In the room for our clothing.. Everything else in the room was excellent.

we booked the room for a quick get away, the hotel advertised “pet friendly “ when I booked thru Booking.com it did not show any charge for this. received an email after cancellation was allowed, pet fee is 150.00. of course Marriott hotels are free to charge whatever they want, but a fee this high should be listed next to pet friendly. I tried several times to call prior to arrival to speak to staff, but was disconnected 3 times.We were left scampering last minute for a pet sitter. Just wish they had been up front about the fee
