Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island

Our balcony had the view of the pool which we liked. We loved that the hotel had its own boardwalk to the beach, and was very easily accessible. The views on the boardwalk before you get to the beach are beautiful. I LOVED that I could bring my dog because I don't go anywhere without her. I loved that there was a decent amount of grass around the hotel to walk my dog, and there was even a park with a walking path and picnic tables right next door. You can never go wrong with with free breakfast in the morning, and free coffee all day long. Oh, there was even a bar that served drinks and food like hamburgers, chicken strips, ect.

The only thing I didn't like was the low water pressure in the shower.

Family hotel type. Great Location, homely place, stayed over Christmas and could really calm down since it was fairly vacant. Enjoyed the hot tub, rented bikes, had solid breakfast. Liked the gym while a little smallish. Clean place, generous room. They had hot chocolate hours in the afternoon, which is just a little thing but it was nice sitting down in the ornamented lobby by the fireplace on a cold winter day.

The breakfast was excellent. Check-in was excellent. The beach was beautiful but excess for handicap was almost impossible. The steps are difficult for older people with heat issues as myself. The room was good except the mattress on the couch that lets out into a bed was very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced since it was very old. Overall we had a great time and Jeykll Island is very well maintained and clean. The hotel staff is to be commended for their helpfulness and friendlyness.

really nothing. Except that some of the rooms have moisture issues but that’s not really the fault of the property. It’s mostly other hotel guests that don’t take good care of their space. It’s hard for the hotel management to stay on top of some of the abuse, i.e., coming in with wet shoes, bathing suits and towels and leaving them on the floor, and / or opening the sliding glass door to the elements and leaving it open. I wish there was a way for the management to be instantly notified of this kind of negative activity so they can, take action to amend it.

I love that Hampton Inn is on the less-populated south side of the island. It has a lovely board walk through a maritime forest to get to the beach. And the beach at this end doesn’t disappear at high tide!It’s also a quieter beach. A big plus is the hotel is dog friendly. There’s a convenient cut through between the parking lot and South Dunes Picnic area, providing easy access to paved trails to walk your dog. Free hot breakfast is another plus. And the bed was very comfortable!

The room was worn and bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom had hairs on the floor and dirt in the corners. There was a rolled up piece of toilet paper with blood on it right next to the trash can! The desk had a broken leg and looked like it was about to collapse. I covered the sofa before sitting on it. The ottoman and bed skirt were both frayed. We couldn’t sit on the patio because the chairs were covered in sand and the floor was wet and covered in algae from a/c condensation run-off.

The Hotel was very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful from our check in to check out! They had a pool for grown ups, kids pool and Hot Tub! Private walkway behind pool through a beautiful scenery where the beach was less than 400ft from the end of walkway! The pool has a bar and food restaurant by pool and bar and restaurant inside! Fitness center was great, all in all it was an awesome trip and we will be coming back definitely!!

Most everything was great, the room, location, beach access, pool, breakfast, most of the staff, great. My kids and I had a great time and even now weeks later the kids have mentioned they miss the hotel!

I wish I'd known room service doesn't get brought to the room. Had someone not just happen to see me in passing when i went down to my car and call out to me that my food was ready, I wouldn't have known I needed to go down to the bar to pick it up. The lady who took my order wasn't very friendly or talkative. Also, I wish we'd have gotten at least 24 hrs in the room. For nearly $400, having to checkout by 11am Sunday, I should have been able to check in on Saturday at 11 or at least noon instead of 4pm.

Good breakfast, nice pool area, great walkability to an uncrowded beach, also walkable to the water park. Great, friendly free shuttle around the island (great unexpected perk!), and LOVED the free EV chargers.

PLEASE please mark the EV charging spaces as reserved for EV's. The long cord got me around a few regular cars parked there from time to time, but the spaces weren't designated by parking space paint or posted signs.

The breakfast was wonderful. Caroline was a wonderful hostess. The other lady that worked as a hostess was also good, they made sure the food never ran out. I didn't catch her name but she was really nice. There was also a really nice black guy that was a life saver for me. I had dropped my little wallet without realizing it, and he followed me out side calling to me to see if I had dropped it..I sure was thankful it had my money, bank card and my license. I didn't catch his name either but he was sure nice...Need to keep these employee for sure... room 203

All was good to very good and the staff seems to really care about how the operation is working for the residents and we find that rare in today's world. Overall, the atmosphere felt very, very peaceful and pleasant.

The room doors slam too often. That is due to incompetence of the residents as to holding a door as it closes, but the draft vacuum which is often in the first floor hallway creates the problem I believe.
