Jekyll Island Club Resort

Location: fantastic, in the historic district with many old trees. Room: we were in the Crane cottage and had a balcony and very big room.

We were not satisfied with the dining options. The grand dining room is closed for lunch and dinner. The Wharf does not accept reservations (only for six people or more). On a Thursday evening, we (two elderly people) had to wait one hour to obtain a table. Inside it was very noisy. Many guests from other hotels are dining here as well, so it was very crowded all the time. There is a bakery on site but they only serve small bites and fast food. The staff could be friendlier.

The location was exceptional in a natural preserve and the Club is a historic gem to be treasured and supported. I loved walking the wood paneled common areas of the main building as well as looking at the beautiful vintage photographs on the walls and sipping my coffee on the lovely porch overlooking the pool. The formal dining room is beautifully appointed and maintained - I felt this was as close to time travel as you can get! We stayed in the Sans Souci building - going back I would book a room in the Crane building which has a lovely Italian garden and a beautiful common area. The Club allows access to the facilities and beach at the Ocean Club a few minutes away the beach is wonderful and they have a very nice pool area.

Food (quality and options) need to be improved. We had breakfast in the dining room and it was ok but the service was really slow. Food quality at the Wharf needs to be improved, we dined at the Ocean Club most evenings and that is the best option. Also there is very little assistance on explaining activities in the area and the staff at the concierge doesn't seem to be able to help book the resorts' own restaurants. Room cleaning service is limited due to Covid.

Beautiful location. Staff very friendly except for dining room. Room was very nice. Beautiful view onto gardens. Museum tour/trolley was fun and informative.

Breakfast was not good. Buffet was terrible. Scrambled eggs tasted/looked as if they had been sitting there for hours. Sausage and bacon all cold. Day old pastries. Waited more than 10 minutes for server to ask about our beverages-finally got up and got our own coffee--twice. Dining room was not busy and had plenty of staff -just no one interested in doing their job. Bathroom shower had a leak. Shower was not cleaned properly.

The property is stunning. The location is great. There is a lot to do in the resort. The pool is awesome.

The room was very uncomfortable. Especially since we paid $399 a night for a 200 square feet room. The air conditioner was clashing air and it was uncomfortable especially at night since the air was blowing on the bed. The mini fridge was really a freezer and there was no way to lower the temperature. If not for the discomfort of the room our stay would be perfect.

Breakfast was wonderful, we loved dining in the Grand Dining Room. The property is truly amazing and should be a must see for everyone. It was on our Bucket List and it did not disappoint. The resort offers so much to do and is so fun we really did not want to leave. We took the hotel tour, rode bicycles throughout the property and laid by the pool ordering drinks from the bar and the not to be missed chicken sandwich. We meandered through the shops and watched the wildlife. The setting is absolutely Idealic.

The hotel is old, over 100 years old so please keep in mind that the halls can get noisy. We did have a few rambunctious children that ran up and down the halls but that is to be expected during the summer. You just need to realize that it is an old historic hotel and not everything is brand new! We did visit at a time when I think there are some shortages so they were out of a few things but that is not the fault at the hotel again it did not hinder our state or our love for the place.

Liked the ability to rent bicycles to tour the island. Valet and front desk and pool representatives were all very friendly and helpful. The pool at the Inn was a very good size. The room was quiet.

The cafe didn't have much on offer that looked fresh and the staff were not very invested in working there. The sister restaurant near the beach was okay.

The room was musty,faculty looks worn and could use refurbishing.no cleaning if room die to covid but other places clean..Not acceptable due to expense of room

I enjoyed breakfast. We would have liked to have something like waffles added to the Buffet

The fact I payed for my trip through book it . Com and then had my card charged again for the full amount of my stay and the security deposit. I was assured that it was only going to be a hold when I spoke to the lovely lady at the front desk. I did ask that in the future the guest be told that would be told that so they could make the best decision on what card would have the hold placed for $300. It made it very inconvenient and embarrassing for me when I went to use my card and it was declined. Then the amount that was supposed to be held was actually changed to my card. I called you and spoke to a lovely lady that said the charge would be reversed. But this is making it difficult for me because that is the money I need to pay bills. And. Will not have access for the next 7-10 days.

This hotel is one of a kind. If you go to Jekyll, stay here. The history, charming setting and beautiful grounds make for a relaxing, unique experience. Rent bikes and ride around the island. It is a step back in time. There are other hotels on the island, including a new Westin, but these feel very generic compared to Jekyll Island Club Resort.

The bathroom was not clean. The hotel, like so many other businesses now, is having trouble staffing for housekeeping and dining room as well as general service, valet, etc. If our government would exercise common sense and stop paying people not to work, it would certainly help! Stay was in early May 2021. We would have loved to have had dinner in the dining room, but it was only open for breakfast, so we did not eat there. The Pantry, a grab and go sandwich place at the hotel, makes an amazing, huge breakfast burrito. It is enough for two.
