Eliza Thompson House, Historic Inns of Savannah Collection

Beautiful old hotel with a lot of charm. The courtyard is lovely and relaxing. It is centrally located in the historical downtown district which made easy access to city transportation, tours, dining, shops and walking. Parking out front was easy too. Staff was helpful and I really appreciate the cook coming to our table during breakfast to clarify and accommodate my strict dietary requirements.

Since each room is unique, be sure to clarify you are getting the room as pictured. We ended up in a corner room which didn’t quite match the picture representation I was expecting. Kindly, the hotel did ask if we would like to change rooms for our second night with them. Also since it is an older property and humid climate, the room did have a musty smell which was eliminated by blasting the air conditioner but then I was freezing.

The Inn is located in a beautiful residential neighborhood - which allows walking to a few small shops and eateries. Arriving before check-in time was not an issue - we dropped our bags in their meeting room and they engaged transportation for us to the on/off trolly so that we could begin seeing this lovely city right away. Their breakfast was delicious and served in their beautiful courtyard. They were extremely helpful in suggesting various restaurants and their cocktail hour was lovely.

The room was lovely, but lacks electrical outlets - I had to unplug a lamp in the bedroom to use my hairdryer.

The hotel is lovely, located on a cobbled street. Located within an historic Inn. The room was lovely, with a large bed, around the main courtyard area. The courtyard is also where the delicious breakfast is served every morning. The breakfast itself is a choice of two main dishes, which changes every day, with a few additions. The quantity isn't massive, however it was certainly all I needed to get me started for the day. Also it is delicious and served by the friendly staff, with the chef also walking around and checking on people. The hotel also offers wine hour in the evening, with wine and a few snacks ( e.g. cheese ) available. Later in the evening they also served port and desert. Which was a nice touch in the old parlor, and a nice way to meet other guests. On one of the days they also had a gentleman playing the guitar for us during wine hour. The staff, as already mentioned, were wonderful and always willing to help. The hotel being old does have a lot of stairs, narrow corridors. Which wasn't an issue, but something to be aware of. The location is amazing, being within a short walking distance from anywhere in the historic centre of Savannah.

Being an old hotel of course a lot of the fixtures are a little dated, which was to be expected. The air conditioning in the room, although effective, was also old and noisy. Again it's a little expected in a building of this age, but something to be aware of.

This is THE perfect quaint little place to stay at if you’re looking for a historic experience. The garden on the property is so beautiful. It’s located at Jones st. which is one of the most beautiful streets in Savannah. Close to good restaurants and parks. About 17 minutes walk to the river/downtown area. The property is well maintained and clean. The breakfast and the evening snacks were very delicious, thanks to chef Mike and the team. All the staff members were so welcoming and helpful. Thanks to Tess, Sherryl, Koral and Chef Mike and the cleaning crew that made our trip so memorable.

It doesn’t have an elevator. But maybe it’s expected being an old property?

The staff was amazing. All were so accommodating and kind. They helped us with ideas for places to visit and dinner recommendations. The wine/ dessert at night was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. Even in the heat it was easy to relax in the garden. The grounds were beautiful. The beds were comfortable. The air condition in our room powerful and wonderful.

The bathroom had some cosmetic issues (peeling paint from the tiles in the shower). There was some pink mold in the shower. The underside of the sink was dirty.

It was such a lovely place to stay. The staff were all so very friendly & inviting. The grounds were beautiful!! We loved sitting in the courtyard & enjoying breakfast there each morning. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! It was in a excellent location on the most beautiful street in Savannah! The breakfast was phenomenal! Each morning you get to choose a drink, starter, entree, & sides. It was hands down the best food we ate while in Savannah! The only regret I have is I wish we had stayed on the ground level. Three flights of stairs got old quick but the view was gorgeous so I can’t complain!

It was perfect!

Everything was just perfect! The location is amazing, walking distance to main historic spots, minutes away from wonderful Forsyth Park, very convenient and safe. The property itself is like a museum, all interior and exterior details play their roles in making the hotel a tourist attraction per se. the staff is awesome, so kind and caring. Complimentary snacks and tea/coffee, aperitif and desserts, finger-licking hot breakfast - the food and services were impeccable. I’m so happy I picked Eliza Thompson House for my stay, clearly 10/10

The location in the historic area was ideal for walking around Savannah. The staff was extremely welcoming( met us on the street to carry bags— surprised us- weren’t sure who they were!!) The woman at the desk directed us to the Noble tours of old Savannah which was exceptionally well done. The gentleman who led the tour continues to do research to keep learning about Savannah’s history despite leading tours for 25 years. Good restaurants nearby. Liked the charm of an older home. We had the smallest room, the former nursery, which was quite adequate. The woman server at breakfast had a good sense of humor and was attentive — bringing hot coffee for refills in a timely way.

Our bed was comfortable but not ideal. The bathroom was very narrow( understandable) given the age of the historic house but the sink had several cracks from wear and tear.

The breakfast was very good, but there was room for improvement and alternative options for dietary restrictions or allergies would make some guest very appreciative!

We loved everything!! Staff is wonderful, location is perfect and the court yard is truly beautiful! This is an amazing place to stay! (Has stated above having options for dietary restrictions like gluten free bread @ breakfast, gluten free crackers with the wine reception and a gluten-free dessert option, would make some guest very appreciative.

Absolutely fabulous location right on gorgeous Jones Street and steps from Forsyth Park. The perfect place to take a morning stroll for coffee. The hotel serves a nice breakfast each morning and the staff were beyond friendly and welcoming. I loved the cozy fireplace at reception upon entering. Another nice perk of this hotel is the affordable street parking passes (compared to super high prices elsewhere in Savannah).

My room was a bit dated, although the bathroom seemed to be recently updated.
