The caretaker (Nora?) was great! She was very friendly and clearly loves hosting people. Along with her dog River she made me feel very welcome. The continental breakfast was really good, especially the coffee. The location was perfect. You are just off of route 1 but may as well be out in the woods because it's very rustic with a lot of trees. Just a mile down River road is a really cool cove with a nice beach. If you drive, you can turn either way on Shore drive and have a beautiful scenic drive.

I was moved to a different cottage due to potential weather so I'm not sure if this is fair. If you are looking for a place with all or most of the modern amenities, this place may not be for you. There are very few outlets. I have a C-pap machine and brought my laptop and phone so that was a bit of a challenge. I would have liked a microwave but that's not a huge deal.

Great location and wonderful vibe. Felt like an adult sleepover camp. Woodsy and shaded enclave of 10 or so well kept and serviceable cottages. Guests can also stay in main building. Friendly and dedicated onsite innkeepers. Lovely little takeaway breakfast offered in the lobby of main building. Good for people traveling with dogs. Also, one stop souvenir shopping directly across the street at the Shops of Cape Neddick. Check it out!

Extremely well run accommodations. Nothing I didn’t like, just a note to future guests to bring an extra set of towels for bathing and beach/pool.

The hosts were amazing! We loved River, what a sweet dog. The room was spacious, and the hosts provided a sweet breakfast basket in the morning. Muffins, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit and a few more treats. The bed was super comfy and the water pressure in the shower amazing! We stayed in Suite 3 and the view out the window was awesome, especially if you like window watching. The intersection drama was cracking us up!!

The super steep stairs! However, keep in mind this house is really old so it was to be expected. It wasn't as close to the beach as we thought but once again, no stars or points deducted because the intersection drama was fabulous!!

The first impression was that the cottage looked just like the photos on the web site! The entire property was beautifully maintained. The cottage itself was so clean & airy! I loved the little touches such as the ribbon on toiletry bags, the breakfast served in a covered basket, & the friendliness of the staff!

Although the bed was made beautifully, new mattresses would help make a great accommodation fantastic! I wouldn't change anything else about the Cottage Inn! It was absolutely lovely & we would book again!

The appartment was so cute - we liked the furniture with a clear British influence. The location is absolutely awesome; the garden with the pavillon was so pretty, and we took the opportunity to play Cornhole board with the kids. Had much fun. The kids used the pool, too, which seemed to be quite cold (they just dived in and out...). The breakfast was tasty and varied.

Every part of the breakfast was packed, but that's just a small note.

We really enjoyed our brief stay at River Road Cottages. The cottage was clean and quaint. It met our expectations. We were in Cabin 6 which had some stairs to get to the door. We were not sure if my mom could do the stairs, but she did fine with her cane. Nora called within 15 minutes of our check in to see if all was well. (they had offered to change our cabin if necessary). We wished we had time to use the pool as it looked very relaxing! We were in and out for a wedding so our stay was less than 20 hours. We would stay again!

We stayed two nights in our little cottage. The cottage itself, was all we needed, clean and the air conditioner was hearty, cooling off the room in no time.

We were told we had booked a cottage with garden view. Next time, I will ask more information. We had a view of our parking spot just off a busy road. Water pressure needs some enhancement. Finally, when the sign says, they open at 8am. They are very clear, not a minute before. Hard to check out early.

Everything was fantastic! Our cottage was adorable, the grounds were beautiful and it was peaceful and conveniently located. Breakfast was great and the owner was amazingly helpful and friendly. We also loved the dog!

The cottage was very clean, charming, and the attention to detail was obvious. The coffee was delicious and the breakfast choices were just right for our way of eating. The grounds and pool were very well maintained and the owners were very helpful. We will go back.

The vibe was homey and the breakfast did the job. It was like you staying at your grandma's!

I hate to say it because loved my stay but the stairs to our suite were steep and hurt my knees and made it hard to get things up. But I guess that's a new England thing.
