The room itself was comfortable, if a bit warm for the season despite the air conditioner. I did like the shampoo/conditioner/wash in the showers. The beds were comfortable. Close access to the boardwalk along the harbor was awesome.

The breakfast was well laid out and the vouchers worked well, but it would have been nice to be able to go back and grab extra having finished the first plate if you were still a little hungry. You have to load up with everything you want ahead of time and if your eyes are bigger than your stomach, food is wasted. On the opposite side the tub walls are quite high for getting into the shower. The price was high for the amount of time people generally spend in the room on the type of weekend we stayed (Air show and great weather = not in the room a lot)

We loved the patio, and spent a lot of time out there…or on the boardwalk! We like that there are no animals allowed, since my husband is sensitive to animal dander. And the location - right on Lake Superior! The rooms are very sound-proof - we don’t hear anything from adjacent rooms - which is nice - very quiet!

Not real impressed with breakfast. You provide a lot of options … but it’s all processed foods…with the exception of bananas.

Breakfast was delicious. Location was fabulous. Due to work being done on roof mgr contacted booking.com and we received a rate reduction on our room. We appreciated his work on this. He made himself very accessible at the hotel each day and was a hard worker helping roofers move potted plants, work with them on instructing where things go and even helped load tour bus luggage! Star service in my book!!!

The room was nice. I had paid for a water view though and was slightly disappointed that my view was impeded by patio furniture/people etc. The breakfast was good and I thought it was a nice touch that they provided complimentary s'mores and sticks (although I wouldn't have known about it unless another woman told me.)

The water view was partially blocked by patio furniture/people sitting on the patio so that was disappointing. It would have been great to have had a private patio or at least an unimpeded view of the water. The bathroom was a little on the small side.

This hotel is awesome! The location is great since it is right on the lake. Easily walk to many restaurants, shops and go up to the pier and watch the ships come in. Breakfast is fabulous at this hotel. Love that they put out snacks in the lobby for the guests and we were even informed they had the makings for smores at the front desk if we wanted them when we were sitting around the fire.

We came to Duluth hoping to see lights (Bentleyville) and snow. We got a WHOLE LOT more than we bargained for on this trip. We arrived with the temperature cold outside but no real problems. It stayed cold - hey, that's Duluth eight months a year! (Just kidding folks). We had a two-queen room with a balcony overlooking the lake and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. On the day we were scheduled to leave - in the hours before let me put it that way - a massive blizzard/winter storm hit Minnesota-Iowa and necessitated us to stay another day. Fortunately they had a spare room so we kept our own. They were very reasonable and even said they would not consider leaving in that particular weather, either. The breakfast was fantastic, and I got plenty to eat (it's free with your coupons they give you when you arrive). Many more people this time was a bit disappointing (last time I was here there were limitations), but you make do with what you have. I do highly recommend CPL on both the people who work here as well as the hotel itself. Yes, it looks a little older than some but don't let that fool you - it's an excellent experience.

Very nice, elegant hotel with nice decor. We especially enjoyed the patio and fire late into the evening. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the AC unit was efficient and quiet. Love that so much was within walking distance. The breakfast was a nice buffet with warm eggs, bacon, coffee, cereal, muffins, fruit, etc. Nicely done.

A little pricey, but it was worth it.

location, scenery, my group is obsessed with pokémon go and there were 3 pokestops within range of our room so we didn’t have to go out in the downpour to play. we also went during off season so free parking was nice

i paid significantly extra for a balcony room so that smoking my medical marijuana would be easier, i get there and there’s a no smoking on the balcony policy? bro either be explicitly clear on that or let people smoke on the balcony, it’s outside and that’s why i spent extra money on the room. for medication reasons. not that it was worth much because of the down pouring and having to go to my car to be comfortable anyway

The patio connected to our room was awesome. The fire pit was nice. Breakfast wasn’t incredible, but it was nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We LOVED the electric scooter rentals and proximity to the boardwalk.

It’s an expensive visit, compared to other hotels and cities I’ve visited, but worth the expense for the experience.
