Hampton Inn & Suites Albany-Downtown

Staff was helpful. Location downtown near certain facilities you made want to visit (arena, Capitol building and complex, museums, etc.). Albany is a challenging city with many problems, but the Hampton Inn is a nice place near where you may need to be. Staff treated us very well. Breakfast was excellent. Valet parking was convenient, safe and reasonably priced compared to many downtown hotels in other cities.

One elevator was broken, adding to wait times. Street noise can be heard in the morning (loud cars and motorcycles). No other problems.

Front desk was super kind, and while facing a tough situation with a water line out on the street affecting the hotel when I checked in. Many guests were frustrated (myself included) but the front desk handled it so well and did their best to accommodate us. Again during check out, the front desk was kind and helpful. They even helped me recover a lost item! Very nice, friendly, professional, and helpful staff. Not to mention I had a very nice room, was super spacious, and I slept great and had a nice shower! I chose to stay here despite it being far from my primary reason of travel to enjoy downtown Albany. I enjoyed walking around downtown too. And parking is ample and easy. I will always stay here! Thank you to all the front desk staff!

Initially we got a room right off the elevator, even though i specifically requested to be away from the elevator, so we had to switch rooms then they gave us a room that smelled so bad, and then finally we got a room on the 8th floor in the middle of the hallway. So please make sure to put in your requests\preferences early, and try to check-in before or during your checkin time - 3pm. We were finally accommodated, but it took close to an hour after 4 hour drive with kids.

The price was excellent, the location was nice, the room was nice and clean, staffs was very professional and friendly. I would definitely stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Albany-Downtown again and recommend friends and family. Did I mention the price was excellent. And my 12 year old daughter loves it and wanted to we stay longer.

I honestly did not like the breakfast. I feel that hey should have more and better options. The sausage was nasty and there was not bacon.

Some of the best hospitality, friendliness and service I've had since the pandemic. I'm not a Hilton Honors member but I could see becoming one after this stay at the Albany downtown Hampton Inn. I had not even planned to spend the night but transportation issues arose and left me with no choice but to book a room. Prices in the downtown area always seem inflated to me but I found a price for a King Accessible room and decided to give this hotel a try. It happened to be very close to the private event I was in Albany to attend. I also knew what other hotels were in the area and what they would offer. I'm glad I chose Hampton Inn! Both Asia and A.J. we're extremely accommodating and helpful. AJ with an early check in so we didn't need to carry our bags to the event and Aisa for giving us extra time for checkout since the transportation issue was still a problem.

The room was comfortable , clean and spacious and on the 10 floor had a decent view of the Hudson River.. What the room didn't have was an ice bucket which I found odd nor did the ice maker work on our floor. I called a front desk clerk and she found it odd as well that I was missing an ice bucket and offered to send one up. After a 15 minute wait. A man showed up with plastic bag liners. No bucket. Never did find out what the status was of our missing bucket and we found a working ice machine a few floors down..

The staff were all very helpful and nice. Convenient location. Clean.

We weren't aware parking wasn't included in price. Would rather know up front or include it in the rate. Overall breakfast was ok, but no bacon included and eggs were not the best, maybe get a new version/recipe. Bathroom in our room could of used some minor repairs, but nothing we couldn't live with. Also, when we indicate 4 people are staying it would be nice to not have to request a 4th towel and wash cloth. We stayed during a heat wave and the halls were pretty warm, humid. Seemed to not have air-conditioning in the hallways, although the room air-conditioning worked great.

The room is big and very clean. The breakfast is good. The staff is very nice and kind. The location is very nice, very well located in Downtown Albany. I recommend it.

There was no microwave in the room. We can use the one at the lobby, but it is better when we have one at the room. The mini fridge was not refrigerating on the first night, so I complained the next morning and they fixed it, but than it started to freeze everything. All my wattle bottles and others drinks got frozen. The first day my room was not cleaned. I spent the whole day out and when I got to the hotel room late at night the room was not clean, so I complained the next day and they cleaned it. I think the price was expensive but it is a very nice hotel.

Location was good, breakfast good, staff nice. Room was nice. Bed neat. Housekeeping did a good job changing linens.

Thin walls and ceiling, could hear neighbor upstairs dragging furniture and all kind noise. Housekeeper was carrying dirty laundry with bare hands in the elevator, some of the linen were dragging on the floor, should have used a cart to transport them.

Hotel was in a handy location, downtown within walking distance of the arena (went to see Knighthawks/Firewolves lacrosse game). There were several restaurants within walking distance. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The free breakfast had several nice options (but out of juice). It was reasonably priced. I see no reason why I would not return of in the area again.

Parking was $18 and was valet.

Accommodations were very comfortable. The staff was pleasant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay

We drove in town for a conference. When we put our conference location in the search it said the hotel was .3 miles away. Instead, it was about 8 miles away. Not completely sure if its the hotels fault, more so the search algorithms. The toilet was not clean. We asked that it be cleaned but that never happened.
