Renaissance Albany Hotel

First, let me say that I travel about 4X a year to the Albany/Saratoga Springs/ Lake George area in the past fifteen years . I’ve stayed at many hotels and B&Bs during this time until I’ve narrowed it down to just my favorites based on a geographic area. When I’m back in the Albany area I will definitely stay at this hotel. The service, ambiance and my room was nothing short of amazing!

Service, cleanliness and the professionalism and friendliness of the staff.

Great spacious room, very clean and well located. the hotel itself is beautiful. the restaurant downstairs is delicious and the cocktail list is very fun.

The occupant in the door next to us left their alarm running every morning for more than an hour. they were also very loud late at night. We complained at the front desk, but nothing was done and the problem repeated itself every day. We didn’t feel the front desk staff took action on these complaints.

Rooms were very large, had a fridge, couch, amazing views. being right by such big monuments was nice and was easy to get in and out of town.

A bit more of a trek to nightlife and higher priced than other options. Some common areas like elevators were a bit messy and not cleaned up. Electric car charging didn’t work and was confusing. Older bartender told good stories asked a lot of questions about a service animal and why I needed one which made me feel uncomfortable.

I have stayed here a few times before and the cleanliness of the room was not great this time. the light bulbs were dim - a few out. someone’s contacts from previous stay were there. the sink had residue of food from what I guess was someone brushing their teeth. The shower had hair all in it. between the doors was filled with dirt in the crevice.

big rooms and nice breakfast (though fancier than we needed). tv was awesome and beds very comfortable.

no liners for garbage cans (tough for when you have a diaper or anything wet to toss). sofa bed was on a backward incline so my daughter couldn’t sleep on it. hard to see in bathroom at night without nightlights. wall was stained as was couch. didn’t feel very clean.

Room was very nice size and elegant. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Convenient parking Hotel is quiet...very nice not to hear loud families.

housekeeping not as accessible as in other hotels. If you need a towel...it takes an hour and a half to get it. Front desk staff are not as well equipped with answers as other hotels. They don't seem to know the area well. Waiter in the restaurant was a bit aloof. He did not make us feel welcomed. The next night we had a female who was very nice.

My wife and I were especially impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff with any issues that came up, such as allowing us to store our luggage for several hours after checking out, calling a taxi for us, etc. The room was clean to the max, had a terrific view, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. We were within close walking distance of the Capitol Building, Empire State Plaza, and other attractions, as well as many dining options. The Wellington, located on the ground floor of the hotel building, was a great place to eat.

Great location as there for show at the Egg. Very conveniently located.

Felt the parking garage could have been safer. Felt like anyone off the street could have been lying in wait there. Also, when advising the waitstaff we were in earnest trying to make a show things could have been a bit more efficient.

Comfortable and pleasant room, excellent restaurant, excellent gym

When we left the parking lot, we were looking for a Dropbox for the keys and we couldn’t find it. So we drove around the block and brought the keys to the hotel front desk.

decorations appearance

shower was not clean, contained hair. bed was very low to the ground the bed frame wrapped around the bed in which i constantly hit the frame entering and exiting the bed.
