Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hamburg, an IHG Hotel

Breakfast was good. Breakfast attendants were very nice. Desk clerk at checking was okay. Desk clerk at checkout not so much.

They could have fixed the in-room safe as requested. Was there for a week, they never did. Refreshing the room daily was nice, but only twice in seven days did they fill up the k cup coffees

The room was much bigger than I expected and the bed was very comfortable which is always a BIG plus! Breakfast was adequate and convenient, i.e. we didn't need to drive anywhere. The pool was an added bonus. Unfortunately we forgot to bring out swimsuits!

Nothing major. The remote control for the TV wasn't working 100%. We could mute it but couldn't control the volume. Minor problem. In fact, we forgot to mention it when we checked out. We always find the HVAC units to be noisy no matter what hotel we stay in.

The room was a nice a size, very clean, and had good lighting.

Front desk associate was a disaster. After a 5 hour drive for a late check-in on Friday evening, the gentleman in front of me and I waited over 15 minutes in the empty lobby. When the associate finally came out, she was very rude and we didn't even say a word. When it was my turn, she just asked for my name. When I gave her my name, she said - "Sure, something like that". There was no hi, how are you, welcome, or anything like that when she finally came out. It was as though, we were bothering her at her job. Very unprofessional. Didn't catch her name, as she wasn't wearing a name tag. Not the usual pleasant Holiday Inn welcome.

Cleanliness and it was fully booked but quiet.

The computer wouldn’t connect to the printer and the staff didn’t know how to fix it and refused to print our flight papers off in their office. We ended up unplugging and getting the printer connected properly to the computer and printing it ourselves but it took us a long time. A previous holiday inn had the same problem but let us email them the information and printed it for us without us asking, they volunteered to help. Perhaps training the staff with the available computer basic problems and solutions would be beneficial to future guests.

Great breakfast, great location, staff helped with an extra crib I needed for my baby. No complaints about that. The bed was great, but the pillows were too soft... But I would say that's a very subjective topic, so I would not say it was a bad pillow, just not perfect for me.

The pool area is a little dark and the pool needs a little refurb... I does not look the best... And the pool water was colder than expected. But still enjoyable.

The room was clean, as were the public spaces. Had a very pleasant stay.

The only minor issues were that the breakfast didn't bring about a wow factor, pretty standard, and the AC in my room seemed to make the space damp. I eventually turned it off during the night and was comfortable. Your location is a bit difficult to find.

Exceptionally kind and helpful staff at the Front Desk and the lady who prepares the breakfast. I enjoyed my visit very much.

The fact that when you walk in you can smell how clean it is and breakfast choice was good.

Unfortunately my room was near a staircase, and the door kept banging and I could hear everything from my room.

Breakfast was superior to the usual hotel fare. The lady who staffed it was very friendly. It makes sense to limit housekeeping service during a multi-day stay. I don't know whether your cut back on this is due to Covid or not, but I suggest you keep it up. Guests can easily get additional towels, etc., from the front desk.

Bring back the free newspapers in the breakfast room!
