Courtyard by Marriott Albany Troy/Waterfront

Very clean hotel, newish, the rooms are semi-big, very updated/renovated (definitely not old-looking) and the television has a personalized greeting digitally written on the screen saver. It's definitely a nice looking hotel and i have stayed at least twice now. The beds were okay but not bad. The hotel is a small driving distance from restaurants in the area.

The area is desolate, not sure if it would be wise to "walk" around as I noticed some druggies less than a mile away at an abandoned building. I think the area is still in the process of being gentrified. But I would definitely exercise max precaution if walking around especially in the night. Also, no breakfast included unless you buy. And it's not a huge breakfast; basically croissants, bagel or muffin which are available to be purchased.

A bit expensive for a chain hotel in Troy, NY. Troy has Rensselaer College and not much else we came to realize. Probably was a booming city back in the day with the factories in full operation. The moment we arrived and parked our vehicle on the property, we were briefly accosted by a man requesting $. Not an ideal welcome to the hotel.

Nice Waterview. Great pillows. Very spacious handicapped room. Women who checked us in was very sweet and accommodating. The original room we reserved 305 although it did have a fold out couch for our teenage son was extremely small and cramped. We ended up getting a second room, 306 (handicapped accessible) and leaving him in the first room. The second room had a wonderful Waterview and was very spacious. In fact could’ve easily accommodated a rollaway bed and been more spacious than the first room. Gym for my 17-year-old son to use was appreciated. shampoo provided smelled by watermelon Jolly ranchers but in a good way LOL

first room was very small, cramped, had a terrible view of the street. And street noise. And the bedside table had water rings of some thing that seemed oily from the prior tenant. So a little Quality Control and room cleaning could be improved.

The beds in this hotel are so pillowy and comfortable that I barely wanted to get out of bed let alone check out. The hotel is right on the river (although we didn't have a river view--we still had a good view with some public street art) and there is plenty of parking available. Breakfast isn't included and the options aren't great but it's close to other food options if you don't want them. The staff was very friendly and there were great facilities on site (gym, etc.).

The food options could have been better, and it would have been great if it were included!

The cleanliness, comfort of the room, the greeting on thr television lol and welcoming staff. It's a nice, newly, clean hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

The area is a bit hoodish actually. I definitely seen sketchy folks around. The "waterfront view" is blah. Not worth the extra dime. But they do have main balcony seating which is cool at least.

Great stay. Clean comfortable room. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Particularly of note is the restaurant staff, both at breakfast and as bartenders at night. Super nice and service oriented. I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing really noted. Only suggestion would be a little later closing for breakfast and at night.

The room was beautiful. The shower was spacious (room for two easily). The automatic curtains to the river view was perfect (would have been even better in the summer). Bed was firm in the right way and the pillows were substantial. It's definitely worth booking. I wish I could have stayed an extra day.

We had the best hotel accommodations and hospitality, all the the employees we met, Stephanie(MGR), Nia(bar girl 😘) best! Susan , Skylar- front desk and Mercedes can’t say enough . I hope you are all recognized you all deserve every bit of it. All of you make it a better place to stay. Thank you all 😘

I didn't eat breakfast. The location is a little sketchy. Homeless sleeping under the bridge and walking through the parking lot. A couple checking to see if cars were locked. A quick call to 911 and the problem was solved for the night anyway.

The statement above sums it up. the hotel staff were excellent. The patio furniture could use a good cleaning. There's not really any negatives here though considering the how things are today. It was by far better than most places I've stayed lately.

Over all the room was pretty clean, I am a super clean person so I notice the the spot on the door frame for the bathroom and the bathroom floor had a few spots but over all it was pretty clean. The two staff members I dealt with were both friendly. I definitely recommend this hotel.
