Hampton Inn Mount Airy

I enjoyed the quiet. We had a very long night so it was wonderful to be able to check out late. The breakfast was nice and the beds were very comfy.

I think the air conditioner could have used a good cleaning, it was very dusty inside and honestly I think the carpet and bathroom floor could use a good steam clean and clean the middle of the tiles in the bathroom. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. There aren't many hotels in the area and this is definitely the best.

Hot breakfast was decent consisting of cheese omelet, a meat, potatos, waffle maker. Plenty of round the clock coffee and water for the asking. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Staff was very friendly and quick to offer suggestions on things to do, places to go. Swimming pool was very inviting; bring a swimsuit.

Overall, ...a nice stay. Pro's, i encountered 3 women over most of the stay,...alll we're nice, but one reallt stood out. dark hair, hair pulled back, very friendly front desk female. I found the room to be well appointed, and liked the set-up of the room (almost standard)--but space was nice. bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels/washclothes, etc. We were on the main floor this time, which i liked. Room 115. Con; ...only thing i noticed, i felt the carpet needs to be cleaned. You can see where the bed frame shields the carpet and the "pathway" is noticeably dingy. Again, prolly my only con for this stay. I'll def stay there again. I have family in the area and this is my "go-to" hotel.

I just don't understand that in a Community that is not a High end Community why it was so expensive? I have sayed at other Hampton Inns at Other High Density location and they were 99.00 to 120.00. I just think there is not enough competion in the area and that equals Higher Prices. Everyone was very nice and everything was very clean. But I feel like a payed a good portion of buying the place.

I Love the bed! It was super comfortable! I also loved the choices in the lobby as far as snacks, drinks, and extra products.

The parking lot seems small, especially when they are fully booked which seems to be A LOT! Good for them but sucks when we pay to stay there and have to drive around a few times coming back from town to find no parking spots luckily we found some in the back. The only other thing is the TVs are SUPER small. So game days where not the greatest.

There was a GIGANTIC spider on the wall which we killed. The staff had a walk in just before us & the man checking them in...while pleasant...kept talking with them while we waited...2 additional couples arrived & were waiting...still talking. Eventually another person assisted us...after 3 other employees came out from the office area & saw multiple people waiting. The person who assisted was new & had to ask the guy still talking to help him etc. Not impressed!!!

The property was close to all attractions and restaurants. It made it do easy with young children to sightsee. The indoor heated pool was a plus. The scheduling was confusing as one had to sign up for the pool and no more than ten people at a time in the pool area. One family came in with two children (4 people) and with grandparents it was (8 people) we were four and their was a couple with a baby which was three. The couple with the baby felt so uncomfortable that they left not happy. The family with the grandparents weren’t even watching their kids. They were spraying water out of the pool and jumping in and out of the water and on top of each other. We left as well. Under Covid 19 restrictions someone from management should be monitoring the pool and the grandparents can visit with their families in their rooms and not take up space in the pool area unless they are going to swim.

No one keeping an eye out on the pool. As long as you have a room key, you can scan your card and go right in.

The staff, from check in to check out were fantastic. One even helped my son get his breakfast back to the room when his stomach wanted more than his little hands could carry. This mom truly appreciated such a kind helping hand. The rooms & facilities were very clean. The pool towels being readily available at poolside for the indoor pool. We had an excellent stay.

Some of the pillows were not very comfortable & the bed could use a topper to soften it up. The bathroom didn't not have a working vent.

The pool was open here though you did have to make a 45 minute reservation for your party(which kind of sucked.) Really close to everything Andy Griffith! and lots of places nearby to grab food. overall a fine stay considering we were just passing thru to south Carolina. Also really great breakfast options!

There was nothing I didnt like. The room was a bit small for 5 people but we only booked for 2 queen beds so really it was our own fault. Still though, not a lot of room to move around. Also there was NO microwave in our room which we found a bit of an issue with. (super essential)

Very good!!! The waffles were great and loved the egg white fritatas!!! The room was excellent, and huge and very comfortable. The pool area was a little chilly, pump up the heat!!!!

The only negatives of the stay were the very, very dirty carpets on the 3rd floor, especially at the elevator. Also, the TV could be bigger since it was such a large room.
