Shell Island Resort

We never get tired of this view. Love watching the pelicans fly by. We also love staying here because you have a kitchen and a separate bedroom with 2 bathrooms which is a bonus. All suites have ocean views and a balcony to enjoy this view.

The restaurant was closed the entire time we were there (Sunday afternoon to Tuesday) so we didn't get to enjoy this. Each suite is very different (we have stayed in 3 different suites). Some are more updated than others and the last one we stayed at was missing essential things in the kitchen (only 1 coffee mug and 1 spoon) but it did have a wine opener which was nice.

We had an amazing time on vacation this year. The room at Shell Island Resort was awesome. Very very clean room, wonderful view of the ocean and not crowded at all. It was also so quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful making sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends and family.

The only downside to the 7 days we stayed was the beds. They were so hard. That my husband and I slept on the sofa bed the whole time. We tried to sleep in the bed but when we woke the next morning our backs were killing us. If they could change the bed situation. This place would be 100% the best resort we have ever stayed in.

loved!!!!! the view, AC was cold which was great! Atmosphere was great. loved the beach chair rental option. did not have to carry down those. Hosts/Front desk very accommodating and friendly. Relaxing..

one day pool has scum in one corner, it all ending up in one corner but large like someone vomited and there was also clumps of hair mixed in, not sure if filter was working but nasty. disappointed in restaurant, thought restaurant not a snack/light meal menu. what options purchased there had great flavor though. No door dash deliver by local restaurants. Some required to order online for delivery but had to set up acct, why not have guest option? I just wanted a nice dinner/seafood and to order quickly. your town is loosing money, I am sure I am not the only one that has tried this.

Staff was excellent! Views amazing! Restaurant staff and food was great! Easy walking ONCE you got to beach. Lots of beautiful seashells . Decor was appropriate

Needed a deep clean Found toothbrush between mattress/box springs, lots of lent /dust behind nightstand, under bed found seashell, floor dirty to walk barefoot. For safety, grab bar,, tub slick. Only 3 hangers in closet for 5 guests Poor lighting in parking area. Cash not accepted for payment for suite, only at Restaurant. A better walkway to beach , Sand to difficult for guests with walking issues to get down to beach area where sand is packed down. A walkway past dunes would be good.

I loved the view from my room. Although I wasnt pleased on Saturday when I ate in at the restaurant and a 20% gratunity automatically added because it was a holiday weekend. I understand room service adding a fee but not when you eat inside at the restaurant. Also, the portion size of the platters could have more for the price that is charged.

Location is fantastic. Beach is clean and delightful. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean and had recently been refurbished. The rooms have lovely views of the ocean. This was our 4th stay and we plan to return.

Sofa bed was not supplied with bedding so I had to go to the front desk after our late evening arrival, ask for blankets, pillows, etc., then make the bed. The fridge leaked slightly onto the floor making it slick and in one of the bathrooms, there was condensation on an overhead vent and intermittently it dripped onto my head.

Our room, as the name of the resort would suggest, was directly looking out at the ocean - the view was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean. It could have used a little refresh (paint, furniture and fixtures were on the older side of things), but the view made up for any shortcomings in the room. The bedroom was comfortable and for the most part, the room quiet. We could every so often hear people talking as they walked along the walkway outside the room. The bathroom was sufficient though the showerhead was a bit low and we are not crazy tall - 5'11 and 6' tall. In order to rinse the shampoo out of my hair I had to do a bit of a backbend - I am getting too old for backbends! The staff was exceptional and the restaurant was very good with tasty bar type food in the evenings and regular breakfast fare in the morning. Everyone was incredibly friendly, the view was spectacular, and like I said, the room was perfectly fine and most importantly - clean! We would definitely stay there again.

The showerhead could have been a bit higher and the bathroom lighting could have been better. The kitchen was completely adequate having a sink, refrigerator and more or less, a full complement of plates, glasses and dishes.

Fridge was over frozen door would not close on it. This was reported. Reported stained bedding It was corrected on spot by staff. The mattress was nice but too soft. Check-in time should be 12 or 2.

Beautiful property on the beach. Excellent view of the beach. Had 2 bathrooms, loved that! It was pretty expensive for a January stay.

Does not accommodate handicapped very well at all. I was on a knee walker and had to battle getting through doorways into the bathroom and bedroom; I can’t imagine that you could get a wheelchair in there at all. The furniture in the room is fabric and smells bad, get pleather furniture that can easily be wiped off!

The location of the resort was great, the end unit Extraordinary.

The resort needs more modern upgrades to the facility. the water system in the facilities needs an upgrade. The smell in the water system has a foul smell and taste to it. That is unacceptable regardless of theirs sediment in the system, it should be flushed out. Even when not in use they should be doing maintenance to their water system all year round.
