University Inn and Suites Eugene

it was fabulously convenient. There was a breakfast area and the swimming pool and washing facilities were an extra bonus. The staff were done if the best in the world, and they made our stay superb. I will definitely come again.

The price. I know rooms in the whole of Eugene were at a premium because of the World Championships, but this was out of proportion especially when we were paying for it ourselves. I was also at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the European Championships in Munich this summer, and similar rooms were a fraction of the price. So why was everything in Eugene so expensive?

Very clean. Shower had good pressure. Pillows and bed was very comfortable. Microwave was clean and worked great. Did not use the fridge on this trip but it was also very clean. Plenty of outlets to plug in electronic devices as well.

We were in the room closest to the street and we picked up road noise until traffic died down after 11pm. But it was not too bad. Next time we will ask for a room that is further from the street. My kids and I are heavy sleepers but some light sleepers may have an issue with this particular room.

The fact that they do not tell you when you book online that a $250 cash deposit and a $75 incedental cash fee has to be paid prior to your cash paid for the room you booked online. I was upset. I have been a steady cash paying client for 2 to5 times a year for the last 8 yrs. I felt abit insulted at the innuendo that I would be a thief or do damage to the facility. I am exploring a new place to book in the future.

The way they have changed the way they do bussines. I am a regular visitor and was made to feel unwelcome as a visitor.

Small hotel, offering personable service. They were above and beyond in terms of service. I wasn’t there long enough to try out all the amenities. I arrived at 2:30am and they were so kind and answered all my questions companionably. Their free breakfast had yummy offerings that I could take to my room. They even gave me an extra 1/2 hour late check out which was so kind and much needed. I would love to stay there again.

The staff was fantastic, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. There was a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom toilet/shower area is small, but nice sink area and large closet. Breakfast was just enough and there was a "mini" market where you could purchase drinks, beer, frozen dinners, snacks, etc. The location is directly across from Knight Area.

It’s proximity to the arena.

They advertise on site parking. I showed up exactly at check in time, 4pm, and there was only 2 parking spots available. Thankfully I got one but many others showed up after me and I’m not sure where they had to park. The floor in our room was so dirty that my feet were black after walking on the floor without shoes or socks. I had to wash my feet in the tub before putting on my shoes, that was unacceptable.

I liked the staff but in particular the young man who works the graveyard shift. He helped with the unusual charging on our card by bringing it to the attention of the manager. The room was clean and comfortable.

The unusual charging on our card initially - but liked how that cleared up quickly. Did not like that the remodeling was not quite finished but was happy to have a warm comfortable room and bed.

Property is asking for a deposit. This is not clearly mentioned when booking but appearing in the important information. This is not possible to give the deposit in cash. As we are non US citizens, we are having fees when the deposit is withdrawn by credit card and then given back ! It makes the price of accommodation much higher than planned

A very clean place to lay your head at night. Friendly staff, pool if you have time to get in it. A serviceable breakfast. Great location for us to walk to concerts at the Cuthbert. We always try to stay here, although they do get booked up quickly due to proximity to the college.

The location is fantastic for the University of Oregon (slightly further from downtown Portland). Room was fine - spacious and with all the amenities and more you would expect in a budget hotel. Some wonderful walks across the river.

A little noisy, partly due to being next to a main road.
