Holiday Inn Scranton East - Dunmore, an IHG Hotel

clean property. pool was great room was spacious

we paid for breakfast the time of our booking. we had a cheer competition, that’s why we stayed. we got to breakfast at 7:00am. we where not greeted till 7:30, and by 7:45 our order was taken. by 8:45 we still didn’t have our food. there was only 1 other table. we had to leave by 8:30 for the comp but figured we try and stay. it became 9:00 and we still didn’t get our food so we had to leave. I think this is crazy considering there was only 1 other table. so basically we paid for 4 breakfast for 2 mornings each, and didn’t get it 🤷🏼‍♀️

It was very clean and comfortable. Front desk person was very friendly.

Nobody was wearing masks and including a large group of people adjacent to the lobby in a game room area. This is during the omicron wave and I’d expect a hotel to take safety precautions seriously. Also, the rooms didn’t have windows to the outside. The windows all were indoor and faced the lobby. I closed my curtains for privacy and it felt like a cave.

Hotel has a nice restaurant. Servers were all very nice! I would recommend expanding the menu, both breakfast and supper.

My only drawback is that the hotel is not pet friendly. With the UTV park so close, that would be a recommendation from a "4-legged" family.

Safe and secure location. Beds were comfortable and the rooms well maintained. Restuarant served good food at a reasonable price. Book the breakfast with your stay it is worth the extra price.

Price was a little high for the area but was not unreasonable. Should have booked earlier in the day. Price went up in the early evening.

Clean room

Electric was a very big problem for John’s cpap machine. If we turned lights off to sleep there wasn’t a separate outlet by bed for machine as lights were connected to switch. Had to remove bulbs and leaves with on but then still had the reading lights we couldn’t figure how to turn off!

The rooms were comfortable and clean. Despite being close to the interstate it was very quiet.

I ate dinner at the bar. I would have preferred to have had a table. Beware of using booking.com. I could have gotten a better rate using AAA. Wish I had known that the two discounts could not be combined.

Plenty of elbow room in the King Suite we stayed in 304... excellent accommodations with a comfortable bed, quiet ac unit soothing shower, breakfast included. Dinners were good too. Would definitely stay again... super convenient to the Lost Trails just down the road.

The property has a Unique layout and an indoor pool.

I like that the pool was right near the rooms, and there is a bar and a lounge area

I didn't like the food at all and I think the bathroom needs a different door on it

Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Large bathroom with plenty of towels. Bar was open late. Breakfast and coffee available in the morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Bright lights in the hallway and the rooms had a glass wall covered with room darkening curtains and shades.

Always a pleasure staying here staff is awesome the pool was nice and warm and the breakfast was even better hot meal NOT in a bag or stale bagels sitting out ...I cant stay away be back soon.
