Americas Best Value Inn - Palmyra/Hershey

Location is excellent for the area, away from all the packed stuff, but just a short drive to basically anything. I stayed for a weekend with my young daughter and we could not have been happier. The family that runs the place was so nice to us. We were going to an event in the evening hours so we pretty much just hung around most of the day and relaxed and took advantage of the swimming pool, which my daughter loved. Rooms might be a little smaller, but I would absolutely recommend this facility to anybody traveling thru. I plan on making it my first search when I go back to the area.

Wifi unsecured/weak. I would have liked to do a little work on my computer, but the wifi was so weak and troublesome. Full disclosure though, I did not inquire about this with the staff because I was tired and it pretty just just made me close my computer and get a good nights sleep.

EVERYTHING was perfect. the hotel was minutes away from Hershey Park, close to a gas station with ATM machine, near food establishments, our hotel room was exceptionally clean. towels were changed on a daily, bed linens were tucked and made well, the parking space was just outside your room too.. so convenient! the receptionist and the rest of the hotel staffs were friendly, courteous and accommodating.. we’re definitely coming back!

One night stay for my child’s sporting event. desk staff was friendly, and helpful. it was very close to our sporting event, and convenient location

The thermostat/temperature couldn’t be controlled. Checked in, and it was scorching, turned it down but still hot. went to dinner, so we turned it off. came back turned it on lowest setting and through the night had to turn the ac on because we were sweating. couldn’t open the door due to the farmland smell in the air.

The room was clean. Convenient layout with traditional motel design (i.e. park right outside the door).

No plug near desk for electronic devices. Desk chair uncomfortable. For the price, I didn't expect a breakfast. But that being said, offering a "continental breakfast" that only had bananas and cereal seemed like misrepresentation. At a minimum it should also include toast or bagels or danish.

My wife and son were happy with the cleanliness of the room and the fact that the swimming pool was actually open and in good shape. The staff proved to be responsive and friendly. For the price, you couldn't ask for more.

My wife's only complaint was the walls are kind of thin and the neighbors decided to throw a party but, the staff quickly solved the problem.

The property is clean and comfortable. It is also less than half a mile from the adult living facility where my mom lives, so it could not be more convenient.

The property is located on a busy highway that runs directly in front of the building so the road noise can be disturbing at times. However, I didn't lose any sleep and I didn't have to have the TV blaring to hear it. The occasional 18-wheeler was the worst it got during my stay.

Hard to control the room temperature. Was at least 85+ when we arrived so we had to keep the door open for a while to cool it down. Turned the temp down a little before bed and woke up cold in the middle of the night. turned the temp up and woke up sweating.

You could not ask for a better budget hotel given the price. Excellent SAFE location for many attractions around the area (20 minutes to Train Station, Hershey Park, Renaissance Faire, etc). Our hosts always made sure our trash was empty and we had fresh towels everyday without asking. Our bed was very clean and they even threw on an extra, thin blanket for comfort. A/C worked well and the mini-fridge ran cold. This hotel is probably your best option in the area if you're just looking for a safe cheap place to settle in for the night.

While the price makes up for many of it, unfortunately, this hotel does lack some modern basics for a hotel. The Wi-Fi connection was very poor and unusable in my room(Granted I didn't mind so I didn't bring it up to the owners). The TV was very basic cable and did not offer any premium services such as Netflix, HBO, Etc. The king bed itself was also not very comfortable for me, but my partner did not have as bad a time with it. So take that as you will. The bathroom was small(Especially the toilet) and the room also does not contain a coffee maker, nor are they currently offering a breakfast. Although there is a Speedway gas station within a 2 minute walk for any basic needs. Also, I would HIGHLY recommend bringing your own pillows, we both found them to be stiff and not very comfortable

Checking process was not their usual good service. They had a person there that I did not recognize and he was completely lost but finding my confirmation and ended up having to call someone else to assist him. And ended up taking way longer than it should have.
