Chestnut Hill Hotel

We LOVED our stay at the Chestnut Hill Hotel. The room was very quiet and every comfort need was anticipated and provided, including an umbrella in the closet (this was a first for me- just wow!). The bed and pillows were plush as expected and the bathroom was also well-appointed. Fascinating historical photographs of the Chestnut Hill and greater Philadelphia área covered the walls in the hallways. Breakfast was great, and we loved the brewery and market right next door. Calva and Michelle were particular staff who stood out as genuinely friendly and helpful. We felt pampered, and would give our highest recommendation for this hotel!

I can’t think of one thing we didn’t like!

Even though there was a problem with the lock on the room door, the staff was amazing in making sure that we could get in and out of the room until it was fixed. The room itself was stunning- it looked modern, but kept true to the historical feel of the building. It was so nice that we booked an extra day.

There wasn't a lot of parking available since you're fighting against the Market and restaurants that are nearby. But this was only a slight annoyance, and the neighborhood, staff, and room all made up for it.

This hotel beyond our expectations. In one of the most cute quaint towns and the hotel itself it’s like a huge old house that is limited on rooms but he’s sure not limited on quality, comfort, and charm. One of their employees Billie went above and beyond expectations to gather things that we needed. But, all the employees were very hospitable, friendly, professional and helpful. We chose a king Suite 1 bedroom which was extremely spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was the usual hotel type breakfast but that is plenty when you’re traveling. They even serve you on China, silver and linen napkins. Very quaint and charming. The germantown has many special things to offer. Yes, it might be a bit distance from downtown Philadelphia but all you have to do is hop on the subway and get you right there or if you have a car do not hesitate to choose this queen charming little hotel. The parking is free. We can’t state enough how much we enjoyed our stay and if we’re in the area again there is no doubt that we will be booking at the Chestnut Hill hotel

friendly staff, clean rooms

not really the properties fault, but all of the adjacent restaurants/pubs close way too early we returned from a show at the nearby Keswick theater at 10pm planning to have a late dinner & drink, but everything was closed. annoying since the hotel website mentions “ late night drinks “ but the down stairs bar they referred to close’s early

This hotel is in a great location and my room was lovely - however I read that there are some rooms that are small and lucky mine was not. My bed was really comfortable!

The staff were inconsistent - some were not very friendly at all! The woman who checked me in was rather robotic. Other staff were very nice!

The area was absolutely beautiful! Everything you need within walking distance. The hotel itself was also very beautiful.

The complimentary breakfast could use some work. Expired creamer pods and expired (had chunks!!) half and half. Only wanted coffee and couldn't even get that.

The room was large, airy, and attractively decorated. The bed was super-comfortable and there was a Nespresso machine, always a favorite. Breakfast was decent (continental style). The neighborhood couldn't be better--restaurants, lovely shops, old buildings and all that Germantown atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our stay. There were so many nice things about the room--just the smallest touches that made our stay really special. The staff is SUPER nice, and the neighborhood had a really fun, small town vibe--in the middle of Philadelphia if you can imagine, like New Hope or something. I chose this property because it was so different from the other more modern properties in the area, and I feel as if I made the right choice. We were very cozy and felt really pampered during our stay, and I just found it to be a very special hotel--as I said, sweetly decorated with special details and a special staff in a great neighborhood, etc.--given most of the hotel options can be kind of redundant and boring in Philly. We will be back!

The location was great. It looked like it came out of a hallmark Christmas movie.

The only thing I think could be improved if there was some outdoor setting reserved for guests only to read etc. There is a lot of outdoor seating but it appears to belong to both restaurants.

The marble bathroom was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and this is both an historic and beautiful area of Philadelphia. It was very quiet in the evenings and early morning. The Nespresso coffee maker was appreciated. The hotel is also adjacent to a number of shops, restaurants, and a brewery.

Our room was small for two people with a significant amount of luggage (we are on a 3 week trip). It looked like the smallest room on the floor based on the floor plan in the hallway. We couldn’t really make use of the closet because of its configuration. That said it would still be a great space if we carried around less stuff! Also note, the breakfast is limited to cereals and packaged items...this could be related to COVID protocols.
