DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Philadelphia West

The room was spacious and had a lot of sunlight in the bedroom. Separate living room with a door between the rooms. We traveled with a small cat who thoroughly enjoyed that wide windowsill and sunbeams in the afternoon. Breakfast was better than most. Over the weekend there were a lot of people staying, but up on a high floor where we were it was pretty quiet. Because the living room was adjacent to the hall and the bedroom sat to the back there were no noises through the night. We faced the back of the hotel, so not much traffic. Comfy bed and while the bathroom was not large and the spaces need some updating, overall it was a good stay. Did not use the pool or gym so can't speak to those, but a lot of families seemed to be enjoying the pool as evidenced by the number of littles in beach attire. Lots of water pressure and easy to use shower with ample hot water. Location is minutes from the PA turnpike and other highways which meant we were able to get to places we were visiting easily. Really appreciated the attempts at recycling and using paper and not plastic as much as possible. Suggestion would be that if a renovation is done, put in shampoo, conditioner and lotion dispensors rather than using those little plastic bottles. The glass elevators are a cool feature, but the lobby seems much more modern than the rooms, at least where we were on the 6th floor.

The carpet was not entirely clean and I was glad we had slippers as I would not have wanted to walk on it even in my socks. It felt in need of a really good cleaning and possibly replacement, that feel that carpets past their useful life have. In fact, the whole room had an air of being past its prime. When people are staying 3 nights, as we did, more bath supplies should be left. We had to ask for more bath tissues, soap and shampoo as what was left was enough for only two nights for two people. Overall, though, nothing major in the negatives department.

room was large with a master bedroom that you can actually close the door, Had a living room with sofa couch my children loved. had a indoor pool.

the families that let their children run up and down the hallways all night and day with out the staff making them stop, 4-10yr olds, also they were unsupervised in the pool and my family had to leave because they were being rough with my 3 1/2 year old. Also No Breakfast was offered for free of any kind, was $25 a person

The highlight of the stay was the breakfast buffet. Well worth the extra $10 when booking. Lots of variety and cook to order omelette/ waffle station. There was also a large bar smack dab in the middle of the lobby that served bar food and entrees as well as drinks.

There was a hallway to our room where they were doing some work and had loose carpet. The gentleman that checked us in did not give us our breakfast tickets so we had to get those the next morning from the front desk before we could eat.

The hotel was better than expected. The staff were very accomodating. Breakfast was good and the room was big and clean. Overall aesthetic of the hotel was pleasing and it is right accross the street from a mall. And about 30mins (traffic) from the center of Philly. Would definitely stay there again.

The bathroom was a little dated and the shower head and tub were a bit off-putting. The hook on the back of the door was broken....idk if someone broke it off but housekeeping should be aware of these things and report it to management to have it fixed before the next guest.

The room was spacious, is in need of an upgrade in furnishings and amenities. The lobby is where most upgrades are. Free parking. Clean bathroom. Loved the warm cookies at check-in, 2 water bottles in the room, and water heater for provided tea. Front desk people were great, very sociable.

I didn't like having to pay to get good wifi especially when they advertise free wifi. Hole in wall back of door; minor, but shows a lack of attention to details. Booking.com got location wrong, it was no where near what I asked for. That has nothing to do with this hotel.

Breakfast was great, ample free parking, beautiful lobby, staff kind and friendly.

A glitch in the billing over charged for one room. It is being corrected. The AC didn't work in one of the rooms. To be fair, we left for a wedding and thought it would cool down by time we returned, but didn't. We did not notify them. Just wish it wasn't a problem to begin with.

Room was near elevator which was great for my husband. Breakfast was very good! Room was spacious. Housekeeping brought us up clean towels faster than I expected because it was a real busy weekend for the hotel.

More handicap parking. There was no remote for the tv in the sitting area, but we did not really need it, but next people might. the toilet seat was loose. I kept tightening it but it, it didn't stay tight. But a real nice stay.

The common area's are beautiful. I loved the pool warmish. I was surprised they have a locker room at the pool. They have a microwave and a mini fridge. The breakfast was great I don't know why some reviews said they didn't have good breakfast election cuz they sure did there was sausage there was bacon there was scrambled eggs French toast bagels. I guess they were vegans or health nuts

The Pool Closing At 8 PM An not opening till 10 am (Seems strange most hotels I go to the pool opens like 7:00 close at 10:00 or 11:00.) The carpets an furnishings are very dated and old the bathroom the wallpaper was coming up the shower curtain was hanging on by a thread it was all tore up and stained.

the manager accommodated my family after house keeping didn’t properly clean our room and my nephew ate a unknown pill that was left from a previous guest

pills on floor , staff coming to my room about quiet enjoyment and when I stayed on jan 22 there were a group of PRIVILEGED WHITE KIDS doing the same thing which lasted all night on the second floor .. which made me not really wanna bring my kids back to enjoy them selves and the pool being closed on Monday Feb 6

Very nice hotel, clean and very well maintained. Rooms were spacious and comfortable.

The staff was good but the supposed Manager left a lot to be desired. I was always met with "I don't know" or "no, our system doesn't do that" when the auxiliary staff members were always able to accommodate my requests with no issues. And the beds were not very comfortable at all, a lot of tossing and turning, but a bed none the less.
