Inn on the Riverwalk

This location is perfect if you want to be in a quiet place away from city noise but still walk to the Alamo in 15 minutes. The owners/operators are great - friendly, helpful, flexible. The breakfast is homemade to order by the owner with optional seating on a patio alongside the river and riverwalk, surrounded by trees and quiet! The street is only one block long and ends at the river next to the hotel which is a former family home.

The only downside that might be a problem is walking upstairs to some of the rooms but it was not a problem for us. This place has lots of character but lacks the elegance of a fancy chain if you are looking for that.

Excellent hosts. The owner and son go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Particularly at breakfast (which was freshly cooked and very nice) they are a great source of information about events in town. The hotel was very flexible about changing our dates (after I stupidly booked the wrong month…), which was outside of their policies and much appreciated. The building and our room were very comfortable, clean and well positioned to explore the river walk and mission trail.

It would be good to have a kettle in room - also, the air conditioning unit in the Alamo Suite is quite loud.

There was nothing we did not like about our stay at the Inn . Have told all our friends and family about this establishment and looking foward to revisiting when we go back to San Antonio. 5 stars across the board

The Inn was filled with character and charm and very clean . The staff ,Margaret and Vanessa were more than accommodating and made our stay very pleasant and helpful.the owner Roland was charming and full of fun facts . They are real people persons. Breakfast was always pepared and delicious. Interacting with other guest was also a plus ,sharing ideas of sites to see. After this vacation we would not want to stay in another big hotel or motel ever again.

Roland and Tristan were SO knowledgeable and answered ALL of our questions. Margaret's breakfasts WERE scrumptious !! Got our days off to a great start. Our room was spacious and comfortable and overlooking the river !! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH !! WE for SURE will return to Inn on the Riverwalk if we are in the area again.

Love our rooms, all 3 rooms went out to our own balcony! With the best view of the beautiful river. Home cooked breakfast was delicious! Staff made our stay feel at home. Looking forward to coming back 💜

It is charming and quaint. An old Victorian home with lots of character right on the Riverwalk, with a view from our room of the riverwalk and downtown. Excellent and preferable option to the sleek tourist/business hotels downtown. Lovely host, and very nice other guests.

It's a bit long in the tooth, but that really didn't effect our comfort, except for perhaps the mattress and pillows.

Very well located for walking downtown via Riverwalk, or to the historic King William neighborhood. The staff is wonderful and hard-working, preparing copious amounts of delicious food for breakfast! Owner Dr. Cavasos makes a point of meeting his weekend guests at breakfast, which adds a personal and friendly touch to staying here.

The lack of an elevator could be an issue for some guests. Not a fan of the floor unit air conditioners.

This is our favorite place to stay anywhere, period. It is quaint, perfectly located, and charming as all get out. The staff is wonderful. We can sit on the patio and watch the world go by, or we take a short walk to the busy section of the Riverwalk. It is also close to some delightful restaurants not on the touristy section. Most of all, it feels like home when we are there.

Look, I'm not complaining - it's just a little more than we would normally spend on a room. It is so worth it, though.

There was nothing we didn’t like. The property is old, and not everything has been refurbished, but it is comfortable and clean, and so we highly recommend staying here.

Everything else. The beds were comfortable and the food was so fresh and delicious. Beautiful location.

A little noisy, the neighbors had a small baby. Thin walls. A little far from the riverwalk for old folks to walk.
