Stoney Creek Hotel La Crosse - Onalaska

The breakfast was fantastic. Probably the best I've ever had at a hotel. The breakfast attendant was wonderful! She was even refilling our drinks, and when new hot food was available she came around offering it to us at our table. The pool area is super cool, huge hot tub, you can even swim from inside to outdoor pool through a portal in the wall. It's one continuous pool. There is a nice wild life refuge park with hiking trails off the rear of the property.

The bathroom in our room had broken floor tiles and was a little dated.

Location was great. Loved the view of the hills instead of traffic. Breakfast was good. Nice selection. Adding bacon would be good, though. Room was nice. Liked having a fridge and microwave in the room.

Only issue we really had was one of our cards kept not working. Had to reprogram one the first night and by the next day it was not working right. Couldn't send a card with the kids to go to the pool, etc. so was an inconvenience. Price was a bit high compared to other hotels.

The pool and spa were great. The rooms were clean and spacious. The atmosphere of the hotel was incredible. We would stay here again.

Check in time was 3 pm. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready until after 4:30 pm. We got there early (2:45 pm) and not allowed to check in early (which I understand), but we were not informed at that time that it would be such a long wait. We would have headed to lunch to kill some time had we known. That was really the only unfortunate part of our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were trying to please guests, they were just way to short staffed. That's incredibly irresponsible of the scheduling manager.

Great breakfast. Couldn't find any salt or pepper though, no shakers or packets anywhere. Coffee shouldn't be sooo hot. Everyone around us was saying the same thing. We couldn't drink any for several minutes and even then, it was too hot. Good coffee, just not sooo hot. The bed and pillows were very comfy. The decor of the hotel is fabulous and unique. We've stayed here before and love it. Very nice hot tub in our room.

Loved the atmosphere of the place. My room was spacious and comfortable! The breakfast had a good variety including being able to make your own pancakes! Most places have make your own waffles. The location was quiet and convenient to stores and restaurants. I’d stay there again!

Cant think of anything I didn’t like

Everyone was helpful and friendly. The bed was comfy. Their hot breakfast was great with a wide selection of choices. The breakfast lady was so helpful and nice. And Spencer in maintenance was Johnny-on-the-spot to help me when I had problems with the coffee maker.

The weather. It was so cold but then that was beyond their control.

Have stayed at this location years ago, also for a wedding reception. All staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are exceptionally clean, beds very comfortable. Would stay here again and definitely would recommend it to friends and family.

Good variety of choices for breakfast, but eggs are institutional and sausage could be cooked a little longer, but understand that is an unfortunate bi.product of our current times.

Can not say it enough, staff and hotel are 100 percent AWESOME. I needed to check in early wasn't an issue.

My only complaint is the room was a bit dusty shower curtain lining was yellow, and food was/ is still in freezer. Our room was a double queen and we had king sheets on bed. I'd also suggest getting pillow protectors as I was a bit concerned with headlice. Rm 150 should be checked

Room was clean and comfortable. The sink was slow to drain, but great sized room. I love that there are tables and chairs in lobby areas on each level. The pool area is amazing! The breakfast area is nice and food options were decent.

The sink was slow to drain. We would have liked to have an extra blanket readily available in the room.

Breakfast was great. Might need more than one person working the breakfast shift. A lot of people counting on that and food ran out fast.

A few more blankets in the rooms with pull out beds. A few more carts would be nice for getting gear in and out of the hotel.
