Golden Sail Hotel & Spa

The best thing of the accommodation was the staff. Very attentive and tried to provide a personalized service. Very friendly. The location was quite central and reasonable room sizes. Price seemed reasonable for such a large city in Vietnam to us.

Probably not a 5-star hotel and others felt they were a little misleading because of this. But overall for the price, we felt it was reasonable !

All of their staff were super friendly and will try to accommodate any requests you may have. Special shout out to Ms Rosie, always with a genuine smile and ready to help. Location was perfect, really just steps away from their beautiful sword lake and plenty of eateries nearby (I would not recommend the one directly opposite them). They gladly allowed me to store my luggage with them while I took an overnight Halong Bay cruise. Hotel have SPA AND BAR AVAILABLE. Hotel company operator could arrange all travel arrangement with better price than Travel Agent outside. My room was at the 6th floor with balcony and was still quiet enough even during the weekends when the roads nearby become a busy pedestrian only street. Room and bathroom itself was pretty clean and basic. The feature that made me Golden Sail hotel and spa was their room layout, where the 2 beds are located very far apart :D Don't think you will be able to find that anywhere else!

This is a full-service establishment. Three charming ladies, Rosa, Rosie, and Daily take care of everything for a discerning traveller. From comfortable accommodation in their hotel, situated right in the center of Hanoi's Old Quarter, to the booking of tours, flights, airport transfers, etc.

Nothing I can think of.

1. Location - It’s very close to all the actions happening around Old Quarter. Hoan Kiem Lake, Thang Long Puppet Theatre, and almost all popular cafés and restaurants are walkable from the hotel. 2. Room - Our room was upgraded for free by Sir Jack! It was spacious enough for me and my husband. It’s comfortable and very clean! They cleaned our room every day, even the night before our departure. 3. Staff - The best feature of this hotel!!! They have the best staff ever! They were all very accommodating and helpful. They helped us with everything we needed —- transportation, tours, money exchange, laundry, directions, and more. Also, since we had to leave the hotel at 4:30 AM to go to the airport, they even offered a takeaway breakfast for us! But since we did not want to cause any inconveniences, we said it’s okay not to. Again, many thanks, Sir Jack and to all your staff! We loved our stay, and we cannot wait until we go back and stay in this hotel.💖

Amazing hotel in the middle of the old quarter. Perfect location, you have everything you need just next to the hotel (many restaurants, the beer street, shops…) but won’t hear any noise doting the night. We chose a superior room with terrace and it was lovely, comfortable and clean, just a bit old fashion. It might be renewed a bit. All the staff members are extremely kind and ready to help you with anything you may need. They even can arrange you any kind of tour you may like and the price are competitive. The breakfast buffet could be improved. But you have the chance to order e pancakes or eggs express.

Cheap and cheerful hotel in the heart of the old town. 5 mins walk from the weekend night markets, 2 mins walk to beer street and Bia Hoi, 10 mins walk to the lake. You’re right in the thick of it with many cafes, restaurants, shops, tour operators on your doorstop. We stayed in room 202, a spacious family room with a balcony overlooking the Main Street which was a little noisy but I did hear other guests say their rooms were quiet so maybe it was just this room. We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on the food. Jack Son the hotel owner booked us some tours and was very helpful and we’re all the staff. Would stay again if ever in Hanoi.

Room was very close to the pictures, the staff were very accommodating and apologetic for the noise, and the included breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had in Vietnam, even better than those paid separately. On our departure day they also stored our luggage so we could explore Hanoi until our late flight, and also offered a free late check out or heavily discounted rate until 7:00 pm.

There is very loud construction occurring next door - fortunately our family was jet lagged such that we were waking up at 6:00 am with most Vietnamese people, and construction starts at 6:30. Other guests were not so lucky and some were giving the very apologetic staff an earful, but what can they do? The neighbour must have some right to construct their building…. So if you can, it’s best to plan to wake up early and have a nap at 11:30 to 1:00, the same time as the construction workers!

The hotel is located in a great location in the heart of old Hanoi. It was a great base for exploring Hanoi as many places are accessible by foot. The rooms are small but typical in the center, and we did not find that it was a problem as it has everything we needed. The TV is a smart tv and the internet was very fast, so we were able to work remote with no problems. The staff is helpful and has a lot of tour information for nearby areas, Daily at the front is very friendly and sweet and will give you lots of great suggestions. The buffet breakfast is probably my favorite as I've never seen such a big selection (for this price point), I was able to order pho, omelettes, French toasts and enjoy a rotating selection of fruits every day.

As mentioned with other travellers, there is constant day and night construction for next door building, which is really felt through the room. It did not affect our ratings for the hotel as it is beyond their control, and we look forward to staying here when we are in Hanoi once that building is completed (very soon I am sure, seeing they work day and night).

The breakfast was excellent....good choice/variety and perfect quality....outstanding service...the cook was professional, kind and wanted to do well....and she did......the location was perfect and ideal.....within walking distance to night market, coffee shops, restaurants, shops, open markets, massage spas...and even the lake was less than a 10-minute walk ....a real plus.....and most important is the staff....from the door man to front office staff especially the two ladies (Rosie and Rose)....who did a more than exceptional job of making you feel comfortable, explained well the sites to visit (including maps and travel suggestions), which were all made very professionally .....to qualify the above comment on the room size....the lower priced rooms are absolutely fine for a single person....couples may wish to take one of the higher priced rooms....but all are clean and comfortable.....
