Hanoi House Hostel & Travel

Very helpful front desk workers, this is what it should look like in hospitality services! The lady helped us with taxi, Ha Long Bay tour and luggage storage. The gentleman waited for us until 00:20, as our bus was late. He welcomed us with a big smile and helped us carry the luggage to our room. Very tasty breakfast! Quite a wide choice of both Western and Asian cuisine. And also variety of fruit! Close to Cafe Giang! Which had fantastic egg coffee. Generaly the location was good!

Only one side of the bed had access to the power sockets. The bathtub was moved a bit away from the wall, in a way that the bathroom door was touching it while being open and shut. Missing bath plug so you cannot take a bath.

We needed a place for just one night as our bus was delayed and we missed our connection. We needed something clean and on a budget. What we ended up finding was a gem in Hanoi. The location is very central to a lot of points of interest in Hanoi. This does make it a bit chaotic when you step outside. But inside, the rooms are actually quiet. We were worried we would hear the street traffic all night, but that was not the case. The bed was comfortable. Things were comfortable and clean. The staff helped us book a bus that picked us up directly from our hotel. Breakfast wasn’t amazing, but we were full.

Nothing really. I just wish the bacon at breakfast was crispy bacon.

our room was quiet small but comfortable, we were woken at 5am by someone banging on our door saying we ordered a taxi to the airport which we had not, wrong room. we booked our transfer from Hanoi to Hue with the hostel and we’re promised a VIP sleeper bus with curtains and charging ports, we got onto a bus with none of the above. VIP buses on 12Go were cheaper then what we paid the hostel so bear that in mind when booking transfers.

The staff were brilliant. Helped us with a slightly earlier check in which was much appreciated after our 14 hr journey from London. They actually offered us a room earlier but unfortunately was a double bed, nonetheless appreciated the thought and they allowed us to use the room temporarily to have a shower which was really lovely! The breakfast options were actually pretty good and made to order (I had the pork and sticky rice option) which was nice and they had a decent spread of cereals, juices and fruits. For the money you spend, it is really worth it and we only stayed there for the one night which meant they must have left a good impression. Also to note, heritage house is next door which we did not get a chance to see but was told worth a visit and being right in the middle fo the old quarter meant easy access to most sites.

There was a dead centipede found in our room on the floor which was a bit unpleasant but this is an easy mistake to make and the staff quickly came and removed it. You are paying for rock bottom prices and best to remember that this is not a five star establishment.

Me and friend had 9 really good nights at this hotel! The staff are so kind and helpful with whatever you need help with. Breakfast was really good with different fresh fruits every morning as well as the yummy pancakes, yoghurt, toast etc that you could order in the kitchen. Location is very central and close to everything that you need and want to explore as a tourist. Even though it’s 100m from beer street, it is still very quiet (we lived in the third floor). I have already recommend it to many people!

Liked their professional services and tours. Even though I did not book in the end, they helped me with many info. My first time seeing bathtub and shower in dormitory room of 6 beds. It's nice to have a small terrace to see outside. I felt the other guests were more matured than other "party" backpackers dormitory hostels/guesthouses in Hanoi. I liked their breakfast 1 menu of your choice and fruits and drink buffet. They servce from around 6am so great to start early morning. I had made fellow friends here :D

I did not know they have water server in the restaurant so I just bought the bottle water they sell in front of the reception. The lady could have told me there is water inside of the restaurant so that I could just refill the water.

First of all we wanna thank Ms. Lisa, who was there for us during our entire stay. From airport pickup to arrangement of tours, money exchanges etc, their services were prompt and exceptional. The checkin process was very quick. The room was super cool and cosy. The view from the room was the best amongst all. They provided us with recommendations for tours, since my wife is pregnant. We booked couple of them for reasonable price too. Unfortunately, our wallet got pick pocketed in the same evening. We were worried, since all of our money, bank cards and IDs were in the stolen wallet. Knowing that, the staff went extra mile to cancel our tour which were already booked, refunded our entire money, so that we could stay in Hanoi for couple more days without any hassle. Ms. Lisa also provided us with a free airport drop off, which shows great professionalism, care and empathy. We felt like we were given extra care and compassion throughout our stay. We will definitely recommend Hanoi House to everyone who plans to visit Hanoi for a memorable lovely stay and journey. Thanks a lot Ms. Lisa once again.

Our room was very nice with a small balcony and everything you need. The minibar was with fair prices and the service was almost like a 5 Star Hotel. We could check in earlyer with was super kind of them. The breakfast was awesome with a lot of fresh fruits and something for chosing a la carte Thank you!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

I must say, the staff here and quality of service here is of a very high standard. So friendly and hospitable, nothing was too much trouble for them. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Old Quarter, having said that, the location (Old Quarter itself) can be both a strength and a weakness! Thanks in particular to Miss Lisa, especially at checkout. I had a great final day in Hanoi. Never forgotten. (Andrew)

A minor issue with the TV in my room, having said that I didn’t mind the extra peace and silence!

breakfast, price, daily room cleaning, location, good in-room AC, instant hot water heater for my own room so no cold showers(!), helpful and friendly staff, good firm mattress.

my window couldn’t close properly so would let in outside noise during weekends during adjacent nights market (Fri-Sat). could just be my room. earplugs can fix if you’re sensitive sleeper.
