Ballina Homestead Motel

This was the 2nd time I have stayed in Ballina Homestead Motel. The first was July 2019 and then again July 2023. This Motel would have to be the cleanest and best maintained motel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. You cannot ask for a cleaner, more comfortable place to lay your head when on a road trip or away for the weekend or longer. The location was perfect. Walking distance to a shopping centre with food outlets, supermarket and Big W for all your needs. Close by to various eating outlets and a short drive or leisurely flat walk into River St. Even though I didn't use it, the hotel has a gorgeous pool area. The cafe onsite is exceptional with the best coffee I have had in a long time. Wifi also quick and reliable. I had my dog with me, so booked a pet friendly studio complete with a small enclosed courtyard so my dog didn't need to be locked inside the whole time. When taking her for her evening and morning walk, the stroll down to the river was just lovely. I am a Queensland resident who does need to travel over the border occasionally and this is the only place I will stay.

It was all very clean, neat and fresh. I think it had a recent refurbishment which left a good impression. Check in and check out was a breeze. Staff very friendly. We were an hr early for check in but the room was ready which was excellent. Pool was clean and refreshing. Not very deep, more of a plunge pool but that's all we needed!

We were comfortable enough and overall we were satisfied. I think the price was a bit steep for one night but it was one of the most affordable in the area so that's just the market in Ballina these days. The bed was a bit hard for me and the spare blanket in the cupboard was a little musty.

The room was clean and comfortable The Cafe on site was amazing Friendly staff and great food And so handy for a hassle free breakfast

Unfortunately my motel room was room 26 My car park was on the very end next to a garden that had rocks as a edge to the garden. I returned to my room after dark. The car beside me didn’t give me very much room to park my car. I didn’t see the rock border as I was trying to squeeze into the park and have done quite a lot of panel damage to the front of my car when it hit the rocks

Very friendly place, room looked newly refurbished, clean and spacious, great location just back from the main street, undercover parking as it rained a lot and the courtyard was lovely and shaded with palms. It is pet friendly too so next time i travel I will bring my puppy. There is a café out front so morning coffees weren't an issue!!!

Nothing really to dislike. Will be staying there again next year as it is a yearly trip up north to the Ballina coast, I am so glad I found this place, it is my go to for accommodation in Ballina from now on.

Pet friendly, easy to check in, very clean, short drive to pet friendly pub but reciprocal membership with local bowls club within walking distance.

This is the only place I’ve stayed at in the last 2 weeks (out of 6 pet friendly places) that threatens to charge a $200 cleaning fee if the pet is on the bed. Understandable but something to call out. The common surcharge is $20-$25, added to the room rate upon pre-payment.

Well appointed, very clean and neat, everything worked, manager and staff were cheerful, friendly, efficiently helpful. Arranged my airport transport without being asked. They have an arrangement with nearby bowling club for motel gusts to access member prices.

It is not very close to original downtown (but is close to newer shopping mall). No issue for me for very short stay.

We are 5 cyclists with a backup car. The owner locked our bikes in the guest hub which we really appreciated. The family room -2 bedrooms was perfect for 5 adults - 2 ladies and 3 gentlemen. We swam in the pool, popped the washing on and relaxed. Next morning we had coffee and cake - all home made cakes excellent. Beds very comfortable, the accommodation exceptionally clean and staff outstanding. Parking not an issue and free. Great place to stay - 5 star on a cycle ride - Kingscliff to Sydney.

What an amazing stay here. We stopped here on our way to qld and were extremely happy with our choice for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Super friendly staff who went out if their way. The pool was refreshing and the kids had so much fun, even loved the ice cream they gave them. Def check out the amazing cafe downstairs, food and coffee is on point! Room was very spacious and everything had been updated recently. Comfy beds and pillows and all added bonus of a kitchenette.

Loved how close everything was and how convenient the place was with a cafe downstairs and the bowls club hush up the road so we chose to walk there for dinner!

The car parks were a very very tight squeeze. I would’ve recommend someone with a bigger car like a land cruiser or RAM Ute stay here as they definitely wouldn’t be able to fit or even reverse into a car park.

Very friendly and accommodating staff, I had to add a portacot last minute and when we arrived it was set up in the room. Great location with clean rooms. The room had everything we needed for our stay. We will absolutely be staying there again on our next travels.
