Room was a good size. There was a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing board and an iron available in the room. Shower was hot and of a good pressure. There was also a hairdryer in the bathroom. The staff were very freindly and very helpful. Excellent, quiet location for easy access to Katoomba.

I had the Bed and breakfast package through booking.com. Although there was an extensive breakfast menu, my wife and I were only allowed either a bacon and egg roll or eggs on toast for breakfast. We were not allowed anything ekse from the menu. I would advise to chose a room only package. This way you can pay for breakfast at the hotel and have your choice of food, or you can go out for breakfast at the many restaurants/cafes available in Katoomba.

I love this hotel. I have stayed previously with my kids and was looking forward to returning. The vibe is warm and welcoming; it has the typical mountain charm that you look for in Katoomba. Michelle at reception is wonderful! She has to be the friendliest and most welcoming person I've ever encountered at a hotel. She made our stay just amazing. She'd already turned on the room heating so it was nice and toasty. They offered a dinner service, which they don't usually, but we walked up to the main street. There were other guests having drinks in the lobby when we walked through.

Only one thing; the spa was out of service!

All the staff we dealt with are lovely. The room was clean and had a great view over the valley. Bed was comfy and we made use of the extra doona. The whole place has preserved the beautiful art deco features and leadlight windows. The staff member taking care of the continental breakfast readily found some soy milk for me. Bathroom products were nice. Shower pressure was good. Didn’t have to walk far to find a nice restaurant for dinner and interesting shops to explore. There was plenty of on-site parking. We really enjoyed our stay here and would happily stay again.

If I’m being really picky, my only complaint is that the pillows were too flat/soft, but it really wasn’t a big deal.

Loved the Palaise Royale...a Grande lady Hotel. I wish to support these heritage hotels and their passionate owners!!! Beautiful large lounge room...chandeliers, comfortable chairs/sofas, and classic music playing in the background...very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast served in an adjoining room. Would suggest a bit more attention to creating the same ambience in this room - this is also the bar/breakfast area. It was a bit 'slap dash' in the morning for breakfast - tables not set up with salt and pepper/basics...no butter with toast. Waitress was delightful and quick to sort breakfast and lovely fresh coffee.

Happy with stay. Spa and sauna not in operation.

The heritage building, hospitality of staff, and location is great.

Was overall a clean and comfortable room but the outdated ‘tired vibe of the room’ didn’t have the ‘home away from home appeal’. Cobweb on the ceiling light, tattered chair, small size tv with only free tv, no safe in cupboard, shower curtain in modern pattern (not matching to the heritage of the room) are all minor, and wouldn’t stop us from staying again at the discounted price we found online - but it’s these attentive details that I would expect of a room charging $300+ at full price.

Comfortable room located on the ground floor.

The weather was very cold and the air conditioner doesn’t work at low temperatures. There was a small electric heater though which was helpful. Could have used a few extra blankets or a thicker quilt as well. Breakfast could have been better. Basically only cereal and toast provided and only until 09.30 even on Saturday and Sundays.

The location is excellent, walking distance to shops, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets as well as a close drive to all the sites. Despite the central location, at nighttime it was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. One of the staff members made us exceptional cappuccinos each morning. The room was very clean. Breakfast was simple continental although good enough

My bed mattress was worn and uncomfortable. My husbands was better. My husband also left his private pillow behind, and called them 3 times to see if anyone found it with no call back or confirmation. This is very disappointing after a good stay at the hotel.

A nice art deco hotel that was well maintained with neat gardens. The room was roomy and the shower was nice and hot with a good shower head. Beds were comfy and the air-conditioner worked a treat. The hotel was situated close to public transport, cafes and restaurants. It took us about 25 minutes to walk to the main attractions.

There was no lift and therefore you had to carry your suitcases up the stairs. Also there was a small raised step to get into your room and also a small step from the bedroom to the bathroom obviously trip hazards.

Fantastic old style hotel on main street (katoomba st). A bit walk from station specially because there's a hill, but I did it easy because I am used to walk. Near Bus to take to three sisters. And scenic world. About 30 min walk... The staff is super kind. Top! Great parking for those who bring car

Bathroom is old and not enough light at least for me. Tub was not necessary.. Has no elevator for upper floors. Breakfast is continental.. not many choices

We were late for breakfast yet Josephine (the waitress) asked Chef first if it was ok if we could have cooked breakfast. We were impressed firstly for the courtiessness Josephine showed toward the Chef then proceeded to serve us (Chef was wonderful). We had a fabulous breakfast. The reception staff were so delightful upon check in and check out. We loved this establishment. The Hotel is full of character and charm. The Staff are so genuine in their Service. Nothing was to much trouble. The location was great. We will definitely be back.

We were unable to stay longer. We had to go home.
