Lovely stay. Our room was cosy with an electric blanket. Sadly kids didn't discover their electric blankets so they were a bit chilly. Pub was fabulous and lovely fire going and excellent singer as part of the jazz fest.

Our room was opposite the shared bathroom, and every time the hall light went on, it shone into the room. The owners had tried to put cardboard over the window above the door, but maybe covering the whole window would be best - not a big deal (only mentioning because of the box asking what we didn't like), and the place was fabulous for the price.

Beautifully newly renovated clean bathrooms done in the classical style of the era. Loved the sense of history of the beautiful old pub and iconic Australian style of the hotel. Split system aircon & TV in the rooms was just what we needed - such good value and in the center of Orange.

Very friendly staff who couldn't have been more helpful! Very comfortable room and great pub downstairs!

This is an amazing pub to stay at! I’d never had the courage to stay at a pub alone, but this place exceeded my expectations. The bathrooms are newly renovated and very good - bed is comfy and room is clean - and the staff I interacted with were all wonderfully kind and helpful. Best thing is the bistro is pretty good too and the bar is fab. Live music was also a plus. I would definitely recommend staying here if visiting the area as it’s within walking distance of the Main Street and lots of shopping and eating destinations. Absolutely amazing stay!

Very close to Jazz Festival venues. Price. Kitchen facilities. Daily room service. Quiet. Bed soft & room warm.

Had some difficulty running shower & seemed to be no soap in dispensers. Bought cake of soap & figured out shower on 2nd day. Plenty of hot water then.

Location was great. Close to everything I wanted to see / do. Room was clean, bed very comfortable. Shared bathroom was terrific - best I've seen. Kitchen music not an issue, as generally off by 11pm.

Kitchenette - I realise (from previous comments) that this is a priority. It does require a make over and upgrade.

I like about the location , good service we came late in the morning coz we travel from Sydney but still the stuff who served managed to stay until we reach the hotel even though it was late 2 to 3 am in the morning . we approach the service , very clean , comfy and it is closed to shopping centre and in town as well .

nothing at all it’s just that we were hoping we get another night there but unfortunately was all booked out . will definitely come back there .

We had a good stay at the Metropolitan Hotel. For $90 we were able to save our money for the delicious food and wine in Orange, and for the majority the stay was enjoyable. The staff at check in were lovely and friendly. The room was basic but clean and we were surprised with fresh towels, facecloths foot mats, and soap for each guest. ( Some dispensers in the showers would be great instead of plastic throwaway ones but it was a great touch) The bed was comfortable, and had blankets including an electric one, and the room had AC. There was a suitcase stand and wardrobe. Furniture was nothing fancy but did the job. The shared bathrooms were upgraded, spotless and the shower was hot with a waterfall or handheld sprayer. Nicest shared bathroom I’ve experienced but the walk to it was a little bit of an adventure (the other side of the building). The hotel is above a pub which had live music on until about 11pm on Saturday night but our room didn’t hear it too loudly, other rooms may do as we were further back.

The shared kitchen area really needs work. It was a bit grubby and messy, but we didn’t use it. The bar floor manager when we walked in after dinner. We tried to quickly walk through to the stairs to our accomodation past all the bar patrons (unmasked) so as not to block the live singer. The (assuming) floor manager chased after us and loudly told us we can’t do that, we need masks and scolded us to check in and out. It really put a dampener on out overall stay, to be publicly embarrassed in front of everyone and in front of a performance. If she had come over and reminded us in a friendly way, we would have been so apologetic, but she really was rude and talked to us like we were drunken teenagers, not paying guests going to bed at 10pm. Otherwise the other staff were lovely.

Great room and facililities. Comfortable bed, good aircom, modernised shared bathrroms plus a guest kitchen.

The band on Friday night was a bit loud to sleep - Saturdays artist was quieter

Bar facilities, food, atmosphere were excellent Our room was great and bathroom facilities were wonderful for a shared bathroom environment
