Big Hostel

Is nice to find a hostel in the CBD with private rooms which have private bathrooms too, this is why we came back a second time. I remember last time I came the back door was very noisy and I have to say this time was fixed, which make me think they read the customer’s reviews and take them into consideration. I really recommend this hostel if you’re coming few days to visit/explore Sydney. The location is perfect as you can walk to the Opera and other attractions if you like (20-30min) and is also really close to the Airport by train (only 4 stations). Again, my experience was in a private room so I can’t tell about sharing rooms and toilets.

As we came just to visit Sydney we didn’t need to cook but if you’re thinking to staying longer and will need to cook, kitchen always looked extremely busy and not too big. Also, we found people sleeping in the common area when we left very early in the morning (7am), which is not a big problem but it doesn’t look very nice.

The staff are beyond helpful and polite. So friendly! I had a problem with the AC in my dorm and I wasn't able to sleep properly and when they told me that this was an issue that would take time to fix, they upgraded my room and it was amazing! 100% would recommend to my friends! Also it is right next to central station so that was a huge plus!

Some facilities are a bit old

The staff are very helpful, I enjoyed casual conversation so much. The kitchen was clean enough, it was not a party hostel so I could take a rest comfortable.

The bed was little bit sandy.

I love the hostel, very good atmosphere and location. Also the staff was very helpful and kind. The rooms and the kitchen are very good. If you are comming to Sydney i completely recommend to stay here.

Location to the Train Station was excellent and also close enough to walk to City and Westfield Shopping. Room was clean and in good order. Breakfast was not provided which is ok as we left @6.30am anyways.

Loved the idea of storing our luguage before our check in as we arrived at 10am in the morning. Did not like how we arrived to find a person with one of our bags just about to walk out of the building. Apart from that everything was great

Big Backpackers is a great place to spend a few nights in the heart of Sydney, but the thing that makes the Big stand out of the crowd is: that you become part of a family. The people, the staff and the whole atmosphere here makes it truly special. And the fact that there are actually many backpackers traveling through whole Australia back to Sydney only to catch up with the Big family underlines it even more. Big? You got my heart.💜

Very convenient location, coin-laundry room provided (made sure you got enough coin), quiet . Very comfortable for me. Love it Plus My dorm mate actually didn't touch my personal belongings at all, pretty lucky for me for meeting good personality dorm mates during my stay. Hope everyone can be a good dorm mate and meet good dorm mate 👍

Hmmm, so far nothing I dislike

We stayed in a private room with bathroom which was really clean and comfortable (we can’t tell about shared rooms or shared bathrooms as we haven’t experienced). Location was perfect!! It took as less than 20 minutes to get from the Airport to the hostel as is just 3 train stops and then train station is 5min walking distance from the hostel. We also walked from the hostel to main streets and main touristic spots!! We will definitely come back!

We never used the kitchen as was packed every time and was not too big. Also, during the nights they close the main door and you need to use the back door which makes a lot of noise (could hear from our room in last floor) because people are not careful when they close it and it’s too heavy so it will bang every time.
