We ordered room service for breakfast which was delivered quickly and professionally and utterly delicious. It was so good we did it again the next morning :) Beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for what we needed. Loved the big shower, hot water never gave up. Block out curtains made sure we slept in way longer than we usually do, making it a great holiday. Really great bar downstairs just in case you didn't want to go far for anything, but close to some fantastic restaurants and public transport.

We arrived early from Victoria and dropped our bags off and freshened up before exploring Sydney. The Ace Hotel is in a great location close \to central station and just south of the ANZAC memorial and Hyde Park. During our stay we walked to restaurants in Surrey Hills and Paddington, to the NSW Art Gallery, botanical gardens and city centre, circular quay and Sydney Opera House. The bar area at the Ace Hotel is an excellent place to Catch up with friends and relax. Breakfast at the back of the hotel was great quality and reasonably priced. This is our third stay at the Ace Hotel in Sydney.
We did not like leaving! However, when our flights back to Melbourne were cancelled we were able to stay another night at a reasonable rate!

Ace Hotel is super cool and comfy without being pretentious. I booked a staycation for my Kim’s birthday and we had such a fab time. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Remi at the front desk made us feel super special as did the lovely bartender (I didn’t get his name but he was on duty Sunday afternoon). The bar area is really cool with comfy seating areas and plenty of them to chill and enjoy a drink and some bar food. The Ortiz anchovy and the cauliflower fritters were a hit. As were the non alcoholic cocktails 🍸 Rooms a compact but well appointed. Beds are comfy as are the pillows. Good size seating area as well. The mini bars are next level - great snacks and drinks. All up really pleased with our staycation at Ace Hote
Rooms are a little snug

- Very comfortable bed - Very quiet in room (easy to get some good sleep) - Big gym with lots of equipment (open 24/7) - Smart TV that allows to stream from your smartphone - Friendly staff
- Fairly dark in shower & toilet. Would prefer better lighting there. - Design over functionality - Rooms with window towards the inner courtyard are dark and feel like you are in a basement (I requested to change rooms) - Stairs to get from lobby to elevator (not sure what a person in a wheelchair would do) - Loud music in the restaurant on the ground floor

They allowed us to check in (after they found a room) at 9am when we arrived, which, after a 22hr flight journey, was amazingly perfect. The room was silent (even though the piles of glassware from the rooms next door signalled they had very fun and loud evenings!). There was plenty of storage, and great amenities in the room. And the room was gorgeous! Everything we could have asked for, done exceptionally well!

A lot of thought has gone into the amenities down to the last detail. Comfortable bed and a clean well equipped room. The bathroom layout is a little different but worked well for us. The bar and cafe downstairs had a good vibe. Staff were friendly.
Our room on level 6 was at the rear of the building faced a brick wall. The room was quite dark even with the curtains open. There is a building site nearby which started jack hammering around 7 am on Saturday which was annoying. I would stay here again but ask for a room higher up with more light and less noise.

Probably my favourite hotel room ever. Booked a small room - "just a bed" but upgraded to a medium and loved it. The guitar was the first thing we saw. Comfy bed, hot raindrop shower, amazing toiletries which could be purchased downstairs. No funky hotel room smell. The exhaust in the bathrooms was strong and did an amazing job especially given the door to the shower and separate toilet aren't full length. Well stocked mini bar. Staff were friendly at every contact. And the coffee was the smoothest we have ever tasted. My partner is really hard to please - especially with "flash" dining - but the scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked and didn't cost a fortune. Seriously, this place is amazeballs.
NOT ISSUES FOR US - but for others, there are steps up to get to the lift which may impact people with less mobility - we did see staff offering to help on a regular basis though. Not sure if there's an alternative for those who need it. Also, as nurses we are very familiar with sounds and intricacies of going to the bathroom but toilet door isn't full length so you do hear everything. I know people scared to pass wind in front of their partner... this may be an issue for them.

From the moment we walked in we felt like the vibe of this place was absolutely spot on, from the casual funky decor to the super welcoming staff who made us feel very special we felt like we had hit the jackpot choosing this place for a quick one night stopover treat. And a guitar in the room!!! That was so cool.
There were some very small details I could mention, like I didn’t like the feather pillows but found out afterwards I could have requested a different type. But honestly, I’m picking holes because there really wasn’t anything else to criticise!

On arrival I was upgraded to a bigger room which was perfect for my short overnight stay. Love the urban vibe of this place, lots of cool cats getting around, the central location - CBD to the left and Surry Hills to the right. The bar was open till 12pm, perfect for a night cap however plenty of snacks and drinks in the room. The bed was super comfortable, slept well, very little noise fm the street and yummy smelling bathroom amenities. Oh and I love the makeup face washer - black, perfect for not making you feel gross about putting makeup on a white face washer you’re then forced to look at.
There wasn’t much not to like tbh, it did irk me when I had a night cap the bar man’s service. Cocktail wasn’t that great, didn’t offer water and put the drinks down without coasters - nothing a bit of training can’t fix.
