It's in a great little spot .... not far from marina. We were going to a wedding at the Novotel, so it was a short walk there and back. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, the water pressure in the shower was good. It had a nice little balcony to sit on (and smoke if you needed). There is a cafe at the back of the building, which had a really nice breakfast (it was very popular). The elevator was quick. There is also parking at the side of the building.

The bathroom is a little dated, but functional and clean. The shower is over the bath with sliding glass doors. When brushing your teeth, be careful not to hit your head on the glass shelf which is totally in the wrong place.

Loved the location - had a lovely view from the balcony! Super close to everything was able to walk to cafes/restaurants within 500m from us. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and they had a smart TV so was able to watch Netflix. They have an old air conditioner however it is very powerful and works perfectly.

The bathrooms need an update all round. Everything functions well however so this is not a deal breaker.

The location was perfect, right near the ocean for my morning walks! And of course near the city centre so easy to walk everywhere. The room was perfect temperature and bed was comfy. It had everything I needed. I'm glad they didn't offer free bottled water, as it's not necessary.

I wish there was more sustainability focus like refillable soap dispensers in the shower and by the sink. The bathroom was a little tight, but I made it work.

This is our third time staying there in the past year or so, it's got an unbeatable location right next to Wollongong Harbour. The hotel isn't the newest and the rooms are plain but very comfortable and clean. It's our standard 'go to' place to stay when visiting the beautiful 'gong.

The worst part about staying here is that the car park often has non-guests parking their cars there. This is because there is no boom gate access. The staff do their best to police the offending cars but they don't get all of them.

The Boat Harbour Motel is close to the Beaches,Harbour, Parks, Cafes & Restaurants. We were in Wollongong for a Wedding & The Boat Motel is the closest motel to the City Beach Function Centre.. Not a five star motel,but 5star for the impeccable cleanliness & friendliness of all staff from check-in to departure.Price is very reasonable being situated directly across from Wollongong Harbour. Our stay was wonderful. Great Cafe out the front,with good food & reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Nothing to Complain about..

Ideal location, great view from the balcony to Wollongong harbour. The bed was great and very comfortable and the shower good also. Cafe downstairs very handy indeed too.

The motel is obviously quite dated nowadays and that’s fine, it is what it is and no complaints about presentation or cleanliness. It does, however, really need some upgrading and that was partially evident, in our friends room with a more modern kitchenette and bathroom than ours. Bathroom basin directly under a glass shelf and difficult to avoid hitting one’s head. Actually used the kitchenette sink for teeth cleaning and the like. The shower with step over ‘bund’ really needs to be changed - not entirely safe these days. Was not expecting the adjoining room scenario and was not entirely thrilled, to be honest. People came home late on the Saturday and a bit on the noisy side - could literally hear everything said. 🤨

location was perfect. Right across the road from a great beach view. Next door to a park and walking distance to great restaurants and a great club the Collegians. I will definitely be back. Great place for a break and to reset yourself.

It was a bit too expensive. their restaurant is very expensive. Opening hours of the cafe were disappointing. the bar was in the restaurant and it would have been more attractive if it was separate.

Loved Wollongong - easy to get around and plenty to see. Motel had pleasant outlook over bay and short walk to lighthouse, beach, cafes etc. Room was a good size and comfortable, with hot shower, good Wi-Fi and comfortable bed.

Parking spaces filled up at night-time, possibly due to restaurant, so had to park on street first night. Restaurant onsite, but very expensive.

The location was the best we’d never stayed in Wollongong before so the location and views of the harbour were very special if the weather had of been better the morning sunrise would have been spectacular

The restaurant menu didn’t have enough affordable choices. Travelling and accommodation costs are high as it is and selection on the Anchorage menu wasn’t big and was a little pricey

location was great. Rooms were of a good size and the balcony was great for a morning coffee. Staff friendly and helpful. Car parking was available and well lit. Love the comfy bed and having a comfortable chair to sit in when retiring to the room of a night.

I understand that it was during the school holidays so it was a busy period, but always looking for affordable accommodation.
