Staff were very nice and helpful, especially reception whenever I needed help or have questions. They have a co-working space, which was very convenient as I was working some days. Location is great, and very near to a lot of main destinations around the city. The kitchen is generally cleaned (except of course when it's meal time and most of the guests are cooking), which I appreciated.

Room walls are a bit thin (or maybe it's the 'connecting door' with the next room), that I can hear people talking from the other rooms beside me. Even the sounds from the other building (where the common facilities are) can be heard from my room even if my windows are closed. It wasn't annoying, but can be uncomfortable when you're a light sleeper. Laundry washing machines need to be cleaned though, especially the detergent drawers.

My favourite thing about the room was the big, soundproofed windows. The city lights and river at night made me start to love Brisbane again, and it felt like there was no-one else awake in the world. I stayed here a couple nights in a queen river room to get some calm, uncluttered, quiet space from my folks while I was up visiting from Vic. Really saved my holiday, and all the amenities and the bed were gorgeous!

I wish the internal door was a bit more soundproofed, but I have good headphones and everyone was so considerate about night noise. My only other complaint was that it was so relaxing and convenient that I didn’t want to go!

The view from the rooftop is amazing! They also have activists during the week and I really suggest you to join the language exchange, it’s the easiest way to make friends! Everything was clean and the staff is friendly. The location is perfect, not too far from the cbd but still far enough from the noise.

It’s a bit expensive considering that it doesn’t even include the breakfast, you have to pay 12/15$ more if you want the breakfast. The kitchen doesn’t have a oven and the common areas don’t have couches (there are a few just at the reception but not on the fifth floor). The charging points were inside the lockers, not very practical.

Overall was a great experience. The price was budget friendly but all common facilities were pretty clean and worked well. Lockers were provided for each guest and bed was comfy enough. Could rent a towel and hairdryer hence makes your bag lighter. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hostel has its own cafe and bar so can use if you’re keen. It has a swimming pool on the rooftop so good option for sunbathing with some wine imo.

Slightly far from CBD but still doable by walking. There was only one washroom for per floor thus in the morning struggled a bit to use it. And during my stay, there were some long term guests in my room but basically it is not a hostel’s fault.

The only Card entry to the common area. The sharing food spot in the pantry. the location of the accommodation in relation to the CBD. The range of activities on offer at YHA. We loved the different aesthetics of each floor and the simplistic beauty of the furnishing of our room. The shared kitchen was big enough for everyone to have a station and the fridges with the days they get cleaned out and the outside eating area. We loved that they had roof top bar although we weren't able to get there. The baggage storage and carpark were great when we needed to leave.

I didn't like the noise coming from the upstairs common area when people were dragging chairs around and playing ping pong at 11:45pm (but only happened the first night). Train noises throughout the night but you forgot about them after the first night.

Only stayed for one night, it’s good for me already as they got the basics. There’s a supermarket nearby, I got free towel and hairdryer. So yeah and it’s cheaper than other hostels. Big hostel: There were two buildings, so plenty places for me-time, it felt like an academic building in uni😂 Free towels, Friendly staff: Both towels and hairdryers were available for free (during my stay). Free luggage storage after check out: 24-hr free storage lockers were limited but available if you woke up early enough. There’s a paid service as well in case you did not get any locker. Location: Buses available within 5-10mins walk depending on where you wanna go. There’s a supermarket nearby. Bathrooms: quite clean (stayed in 4 beds dorm) and with sufficient hooks to put clothes

Location: A bit far from train station. It’s an inclined route to the hostel. Can be something to take note if you are carrying heavy luggages. It’s the last hostel on top of the slope. Cafe: food choices were very limited, wanted to grab some breakfast but I gave up😂if you like croissants, filled croissants, cheesecakes and desserts, probably not a problem for you. Drinks are normal cafe menus. Air conditioner: it’s either too cold or too hot

Pretty close to the Roma Street station and easy to get around with public transport. It is located in a relatively quiet corner of the city with easy access to supermarkets, cafes and eateries. The shared toilets were relatively clean and not too crowded during rush hours.

The main issue was that there were no power sockets near the bed. The only power socket available to me was inside the cupboard which was at least a couple of metres away from me. The train station is nearby and so you might wake up pretty early in the morning due to noise specially if your room is facing the main road.

The room was spacious and clean. The kitchen was super big and had everything you need to cook properly. There is a café next to reception where you can grab a proper coffee so that was awesome!

I personally prefer smaller hostels cause I find them cosier and easier to meet people. This one was too big for me, 5 floors, lots of rooms... But at the same time it seemed to be half empty ( spent half of my stay with only another person in a room of 4 and other people told me the same happened to them). The person who checked me in was super nice and friendly. However I went another two times cause I had some doubts and it seemed as if I was bothering them.

Close to Suncorp Stadium, the Roma Street train station, and plenty of places to eat. The room was clean and to the point with a comfy bed and clean linens. The view was nice even though there were some council works going on outside the window. It is easy and safe to get to and from the stadium on foot. Just make sure you cross the road at the crosswalks, as further up the hill, there is nowhere to cross traffic safely.

The staff member we first met, even though she was helpful, was a bit awkward towards us, making us feel like we were the wrong kind of people booking in. The rooms are small, but not too squishy. You can see they are purpose built. The door getting into the bathroom was tight, an issue if you are a larger person. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room to store some food / drinks for after a show, so next time, we'll stick to chips and dry foods instead. I had a few issues with the TV, as it has no free to air channels, I tried to connect with the casting option, but I didn't want to play, so I left it. These all are trivial things that didn't have a huge impact on our stay, but just little things to help the next person that I didn't know before we arrived.
