Summer House Backpackers Brisbane

The staff and the other guests are very friendly. The cleanliness is very good in all areas. The beds are quite comfy and better than other hostels. There are separate shared bathrooms for men and women. The vibes are amazing as they organize nachos nights, bbq Friday night and every Sunday they cook pancakes. The roof top has a lovely view. I strongly recommend this hostel!

The kitchen is small for the number of the guests. The last two days the water for shower was not hot, I hope they fix this issue soon! Also, as a recommendation, once in a while it's good to wash the white sheets under the blue ones.

Great location within the city. Coles is less than a 5 minute walk away and only a 15 minute walk to the city centre. Property is always cleaned as there is cleaners around daily. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The hostel host an activity every night as ranging from free food to free entertainment which is great to see as a backpacker. Would absolutely recommend to anyone, I initially booked for 2 weeks and extended my stay by another month. Great experience overall

Had a wonderful stay @ Summer House! Staff here were very accomodating and friendly, the overall vibe was fantastic! Loads of international travellers from Europe, South America and Asia so plenty of people to meet. Walking distance from Roma St Station and the City. Although the weather was pretty crap, they have a rooftop with amazing city and river views, and a fully equipped kitchen downstairs which was a real bonus! One of the cleanest hostels I have ever stayed at in Aus. Hostel has a drug free policy and they also have a great job board for those looking for work! No issues whatsoever, would highly recommend this hostel to all foreign travellers and those visiting Brisbane for a short time.

Maybe a bigger area to chill out in when the weather outside is this hectic? :)

The location is great, 20 min walk from the center. The hostel is really nice and there is a beautiful view from the rooftop, especially during the night ! The staff members are amazing and they are doing a great job. Also, the guests are super nice, everyone gets along well with everyone. The vibe is awesome !

It is a really great atmosphere and feel here, so much so that everyone extends their stay! Fun events, clean, nice staff, great location -5 mins walk from Cole’s and some bars/restaurants and 20 min walk to CBD… as well as 5 mins from Roma street station so great transport links for travel and work. Highly recommend 😁

Location was brilliant. Upstairs outdoor space brilliant! Female dorm nice, good size lockers. Staff very lovely

Not enough space in the common area for everyone to sit at dinner time - also not enough space to put food in the kitchen - had to put our food bag on the floor which meant ants got in it. Wouldn’t usually mention, however as we stayed 6 nights it was noticeably a problem every day

The Brisbane Summer House rooftop terrace overlooking the cityscape, enhances the vibrancy and ambience of public space. It was calming, peaceful and spiritually reflective. Kitchen facilities and amenities were adequate. Bunk mattresses were comfortable. Close to shops. Staff are friendly and professional.

The party host wasn't there to walk around the room and make sure that everyone had his or her favourite libation to drink. Rooftop terrace opening hours need extending.

The hostel was really good. The best price/quality ratio. I want to highlight above all the staff, particularly Shannon and Jai, who have always solved my problems. In fact -without exaggeration- these two people took care of us in the best possible way, and they are almost the reason why I would like to come back to this place for another weeks. Thank you for everything!

Walking distance to the city centre, friendly staff, nice and quiet in the female dorm. Overall good value for the money.

The staff forgot to open the kitchen at 6am on a Saturday morning 😁 Toilets and showers area was okay, needs a squeegee and a mop to wipe the flooded floor - if the shower curtain is not closed properly, the "hallway" gets flooded and there is no way to collect the water.

Staff member, Tamara was particularly helpful and is always beautifully happy. Made me feel most welcome The kitchen is really good. The set-up is Ideal for "young" people or young at heart, content to forgo comfort 😀 All up, fairly suitable. My bed was really comfortable. My room had an onsuete. It's light worked well. Most importantly the place is CLEAN.

The set-up is very basic. The dining area. 1 bench, 1 bench seat with cushions & poorly located in the entrance foyer. The TV room is not designed for comfort. The bedrooms air-conditioning unit was very noisy & very cold, with no control to turn it off. The light connection or bulb is faulty and flickers.
