Next to tram location, one stop next to Surfers Paradise. It’s opposite to shopping centre, very convenient. Room is large with kitchen facilities (except stove). Bit noisy as we are 4th floor which is just above the bar. But it’s ok as bar is almost cleared before midnight. They have car park provided on request based on supply. Nice that you can drive in and out multiple times without additional charge.

Drainage in shower room is not working well. Water doesn’t flow to the drain but accumulates on floor that nearly flows out of the shower area. Told this to staff upon checkout, who promised to have someone check it and waived out fee for parking. Quilt is super thick and heavy. And the quilt cover is not sealed. Everyday we tried so hard to figure out which the actual quilt is and worked up in a mess of linen ball.

We booked this accommodation 30 minutes before arriving due to our other hotel cancelling on us when we got there with no prior-communication. We are so glad that they did because we LOVED our stay at The Island and have booked again to come for 2 nights in May. The location is perfect, staff were friendly, hotel decor was very clean, modern and fancy. The bar and diner was wonderful and the food was lovely. We paid $100 for 2 alcoholic beverages, 2 starters, 2 MASSIVE mains and 2 kids meals. Good value for money. Staff were willing to go above and beyond to accommodate our two small children who struggled to sit still at the dinner table. The pool area was lovely. Bedroom and ensuite bathroom were beautiful and very clean.

Nothing. We loved it so much that we have booked to come again in a few months time! The location is brilliant! Only bad thing we experienced on this trip was the rainy and damp weather which is no fault of the hotels!

Greeted by all staff with friendly smiles and they were all very helpful. Everything about the hotel was clean and a great holiday vibe. Our room was clean, great set up and bathroom clean and spacious for a hotel. Great value for money.

Every staff member that we interacted with was lovely. We did however witness one of the male staff undermining one of the managers at the rooftop bar and it was quite hard not to hear it and not to feel sorry for her. The manager walked away very upset while the staff member continued to bash her behind her back. Didn’t think this was the sort of culture that the hotel is providing for its staff.

The property has been beautifully renovated and is in a great location in the heart of Surfers Paradise. The hotel has great amenities, with the rooftop bar, gaming area and restaurant. The king deluxe room was very spacious, and we were lucky enough to have a private balcony.

Just a couple of very very minor things that I would have liked.. There was no towel racks in the room, we had to hang our towels over coat hangers on the clothes rail, if you were sensitive to sound you could hear some street noise (no issue for us), not great shower pressure and only bedside lamps as lights for the room. Again, super minor and won’t stop us from staying again.

Everything. Receptionist upgraded our room due to a booking error on their side, the Room was fantastic. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Prime location, easy walk to the beach, access to the hottest clubs very nearby, restaurants, the pool.

The security guard at the restaurant side. We presented our room cards and drivers license, but he kept making us wait while letting ppl after us go through. We’ve had zero issues with our Canadian id’s all over Gold Coast clubs and other venues, but this guy gave us such a hard time, that we ended up leaving in the end.

Staff slways very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy and rooms cleaned every day. Coffee, tea etc in room was topped up every day and that was a definite plus. We loved the fact that it had a little balcony to enjoy some morning coffee from. View from balcony was great too even if it is just a bit of the ocean. :) We were on the 10th floor so was awesome to see everything from so high up.

Perhaps the only negative is that it can get very noisy with people in street and music coming from Rooftop bar on weekend in the evening, but if you are not "oldies" like us, you might not mind it.😉

I liked how it felt like a Resort the minute I entered the Hotel. From the exterior it's private closed off little corner hotel that draws your attention immediately, with a hint of Palm Springs vibe. It has everything you can think of, Restaurant, Bar by the pool, Pokies area, Rooftop Garden Bar for guests and public. Also has Pool tables and Kids game corner for entertainment while you Eat, Play and Relax all within the area. Decent size pool with Sunbeds and Shade, and get this! You can order your drinks & food to the pool area and just chill, the best 👌 So thank you for the experience and service The Island GC We will be back 😉

The staff was very friendly and she allowed us to check in early as I told her we all needed some sleep as soon as possible. And she also helped us to upgrade our room as she knew me and my partner just got engaged the day before. The room is spacious and the location of the hotel is very convenient-walking distance to surfer paradise beach. There is one good Thai restaurant (cocohut-suggest to book early to avoid long waiting time)in the next two shops and a worthy try.

The cleaning staff left the cleaning cloth in the living room but I understand maybe they are too busy and could miss things sometimes.

The updated rooms at The Island are super clean and comfortable! the location of the hotel is perfect - close stroll to everything, restaurants, shops, beach etc. Was impressed with the in-room QR code which allowed you to order room service via your phone! TV was a smart TV with the ability to sign into Netflix etc. WiFi worked great throughout the hotel. Two restaurants and live music was great also. Safe, hairdryer, bar fridge, kettle, coat hangars! Must also say, the design and vibe of the hotel is beautiful and feels very retro-tropical :)

Nothing really, if I had to pick, maybe some toiletries in the bathroom? But this hasn't affected my rating. (To confirm, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are fixed in the shower, but no other items provided i.e. shower cap, cotton buds etc).

The location is great as it is close to the main road in surfers paradise. The wood finishings in the room really gave the place an exquisite modern look and feel. The fact that Goldie’s is the provider of the breakfast in the morning is fantastic as it provides full value for money and one less meal to think about.

While the proximity to surfers paradise is great, at night you can still hear all the music from the surrounding bars and clubs. You probably wouldn’t notice it during the week or if you go clubbing.
