If you are online right now and deciding where to stop over for the night as you’re travelling through SA, or looking to book somewhere for that little bit longer for some much needed R&R, at a great rate, look no further than the Grand Hotel, Millicent ! Leandra (the manager here) is running a first class set up. From the warmest and most genuine hospitality that you’ll receive from the get go from herself, Natalie her daughter and all the staff here, to the personal touches that have been added throughout the establishment since their recent renovations, you’ll feel so welcome that don’t be surprised if you end up wanting to extend your stay (which I myself did !) From the first class hospitality to the personal comfort of the rooms, the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, the spacious balcony to relax on as you watch the sunset, the recently renovated restroom/bathroom facilities and the meals on offer downstairs, you have absolutely everything you need without having to leave (though you’ll want to explore the beautiful town of Millicent which the Grand Hotel is conveniently right in the middle of). I’ve travelled to different parts of the world and been blessed to stay in many places, from hostels to five star establishments, but I’ve never had such a personal experience like I have had staying here. For a 120 year old establishment, it’s the most cosy, comfortable, clean set up that feels like a home away from home with the recent refurbishments. To be honest I’m someone who doesn’t normally leave reviews, but in this case I had to. So if you’re single, travelling as a couple or a family (which they all cater for) and looking for an economical get away, do yourself a favour and take the opportunity to be blessed with a stay here yourself. You’ll be thankful for it, and leave feeling better than when you arrived. Thank you Leandra, Natalie and the team at Grand Hotel.

It had a big room, comfortable mattress. The shared facilities were good and kept clean. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. The common room was good to eat breakfast and store food in although it could have been bigger or perhaps two fridge/freezers.

The meals downstairs weren't very good and one night I had to wait 90 minutes for a dried up beef schnitzel and no salad or veggies renewed in the salad bar. After two bad meals, I discovered the food at The Somerset was fantastic and ate there from then on.

Room was spacious, shared bathroom facilities were clean A lot of old photos on the walls were a perfect match to the atmosphere You have to consider that this is an old building (more then 100 years), so it is not a modern fancy location

It was a little hard to find after hours. But after finding the way, everything was good for one night stay on the way to Melbourne Wi-Fi also did not work

The Grant Hotel is good value for money. I stayed four nights and really enjoyed my stay. My Bed was comfortable. The hotel was reasonably clean. I didn't think the meals were very good and ate at the other pub. I have no complaints. Hot water in the shower takes a little while to come through. No paranormal appearances while I was there. Good location to explore the Limestone coast.

I have no complaints as I said although meals were a bit dodgy.

The location was excellent in the centre of Millicent. The facilities were commensurate with the cost of the accommodation. The pub food was good. The verandah area was a nice touch. Lounge area was of a high quality.

The single bed was unexceptional. Staff didn't top up the tea and sugar in the lounge on the first night of my stay but did so when I mentioned it to them. Accommodation was on the top floor which meant a lot of stair climbing.

Great location, great price, staff really friendly, the meals are great and not expensive, shared facilities were clean, I had no issues with the hot water. I like the heritage touches to the hotel, the old pictures on the walls and the period furniture. Thanks for a worthwhile stay in a nice little friendly town. I'm sure to be back.

Lighting could be a bit brighter in the room, but that's not major

The Staff were fantastic and so lovely. the room was clean and tidy, bed was comfy and the Price for the room was so good. absolutely loved our stay even with the shared facilities. Having the upstairs balcony to ourselves after hours was just brilliant. I would seriously considering staying here again.

For me it was just the Stairs up to the room.

We had two night stay in this lovely place. Lovely staff, great location, clean and comfortable room made it a good choice to stay. The balcony was so nice with a great view.

The only issue is the share bathroom and shower for men and women. I felt so uncomfortable to take a shower or go to the bathroom while there is a man in the next cabin. I hope the manager fix this problem soon. And there is no change table for babies in the bathroom.

The new renovations are great The bedroom was spacious The staff were accommodating Food and drink was well priced. Easily accessible after hours

Unsure where to park. The window couldn't open so it did get musky after a few days.

Hotel was in main street. No tv or coffee in room but common room was right next door which was good. Meals were good and reasonable. Had pokies. Lovely old fashioned hotel. Nice balcony. Had free parking out the back.

A little bit strange men and ladies sharing the bathrooms but ok. Lovely and clean. Maybe a toaster would be nice but people do make such a mess.
