Blue Lake Motel

Location was convenient, it was really near the Umpherston Sinkhole and the main street was about 5 mins away... the room was newly renovated (I think) with new cooling/heating unit... check-in was simple and quick... Parking was right outside our room which was an advantage for us given we travelled with a baby...

Place is little uphill, it would be no issue if you have a car but if you don't going out would be a challenge

Fantastic hot water & shower pressure. Very comfortable bed. Free WiFi. View from the room wonderful! Location very convenient to local pub & town.

Window edges need painting. Fan in bathroom noisy & didn't extract hot shower air very well leaving mirror fogged up. Front of room hot in full sun - maybe some shade sails would help. People next door extremely loud slamming their front door constantly! Walls very thin between rooms - could hear next doors child screaming & crying.

Easy last minute accommodation. Friendly staff. Room was easy to access, comfortable and equipped adequately. Location ideal. Not town centre but close enough to the pub and quiet at night. Good shower and a good night's sleep too.

Our only issue was that the TV froze every time we put the bathroom light on! Don't ask me how that is possible but we checked it a few times and it definitely was!! Nothing else of significance to report.

Beds were very comfortable. Room was warm.

The renovated bathroom needs more work. The shower needed silicone around the bottom of the screen. definetly needs an exhaust fan as water was dripping off the ceiling and down the walls after having a shower. The tea towel was torn and very shabby

Stayed four nights and was perfect for us… just off the Jubilee Highway and away from traffic noise and a few minutes drive to the City Centre. Old Motel buildings but well modernised. Normal toaster/coffee/fridge and microwave in the room or a kitchen room and/or outside bbq if you wanted to cook. Order a $10 breakfast if needed. Friendly polite staff… and cheap rates.. Easy parking. Be back that way in a few weeks or so and will stay there again…

Water conservation is important for the area but the shower pressure, being the last room ( 19 ), was a bit too low but no big deal for us…

Really lovely owner/operators. Clean but dated - bathrooms are newly renovated and looking great. The room had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean, everything worked and we were very happy to be there. Would definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Clean and tidy room with updated bathroom facilities. The staff were very accommodating with our late check in. Tea & coffee was provided. Price was reasonable

Did not like that I was told not to use the Single bed that was in the room only the queen bed. Noise from outside was slightly annoying.

While the motel and room was dated, it was very well maintained and clean enjoyed having the children in an interconnecting room giving them a slightly separate space and therefore a second bathroom; the children slept well in their beds (actually had to wake them!!) shower was strong and rejuvenating.

TV stations didn't really work, extremely minimal choice. Turned it off, as it was pointless. Wifi, while connected didn't work (kids had to hotspot).

Nice and affordable motel located at beautiful place with great views. Owner of the motel is a good and kind. He helped us with our car issue and also suggested places to visit around. I would definitely book this place again if I got a chance to visit Mt. Gambier again. Thank you so much for your help. We enjoyed our stay at Blue Lake Motel.

very centrally located in town , clean , had all the amenities required for & well priced . most importantly the service from owner was most helpful ; good communicator ; upgraded our room informative about the area assisted us with our late check in ; shared useful travel advice about the area which we appreciated as we were from interstate & driving to Mt Gambier from Adelaide Cbd
