Apart from a microwave, the room was excellent and having a view out into a garden is always relaxing. I liked its proximity to Mount Gambier without being IN the city. The up-market restaurant was a complete surprise. The food was good and the service was excellent. Best of all was the accoustic quality. It was easy to chat across the table despite the restaurant being full of talkative people. Many restaurants have good food but very few are quiet enough.

TV reception in our room was hopeless on ABC, although it was apparently a problem confined to our room. I dislike anything to do with FOX and having their offerings dominant is not appealing, personally.

Beeping noise all night outside bedroom window near air con unit, very annoying. Property was clean except for 100’s of dead flys on all window sills etc, were obviously spayed for flys but not cleaned up later.

Fabulous treasure of a place just out of town. Beautiful setting for a stopover. We only stayed in a motel room, but was still lovely for overnight. The other accommodation looked great. Bonus having restaurant on site.

Room was comfortable and clean. Spa was clean and hot water service was sufficient to fill the bath! Quiet location and peaceful. Dinner at the Barn restaurant was great, food quality was good and service was okay. Great selection of drinks available. Check in was fast, efficient and welcoming. Check out was super fast.

A few little luxuries for the price of the room would have been nice (complimentary bottle of wine and some local produce, etc). Restaurant was quite expensive for the serving size of the meals and service was a little slow as the restaurant was busy.

The room was fantatic! It was very spacious with it's own little patio area included. The room furnishings were good quality with actual stone bench/table tops, solid chairs, nice linen and blankets, and bath sheets as well as bath towels provided in the bathroom. The room was well organised with plenty of power points, and plenty of space around each area of the room so you weren't constricted. The grounds were wonderful and green and full of flowers. The attached restaraunt that provided room service had wonderful food that was delivered promptly. The spa bath was also a nice size. Big enough for two at a squeeze, but not so big that it took forever to fill. And nice and deep so you were mostly submerged even when sitting.

The chrome casting system for the TV didn't work, and even if it did the tv was a bit small for the distance it was from any seating/laying area. And while other customers were respectful and kept to their areas, from what I could see all the patios seemed to be connected by a single walkway. So someone could easily walk all the way around the windows and areas of each unit without encountering any obstacles, meaning the windows weren't overly private so my husband and I left the blinds closed for a lot of our stay.

We actually loved everything, it was so good to be able to walk from our room to dinner on the first night as we had driven for a while and it was nice to stop. The second night when we went out to get dinner it was not that far into town. It was night to be a little bit removed from town and I loved it when I left my room to hear the cows in the paddock.

I think everything was more than satisfactory, I cannot think of anything that I would change. The room was warm and comfortable and a lovely outlook over the garden and the bed was comfy. Also having the couch setting area was great.

The receptionist moved us to another room so we would be closer to our son-in-law and his family who were also staying there. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The piano bar is a lovely spot to relax on a cool evening in front of the fire. The garden has many lovely plants which would be lovely to see in Spring or Summer.

My rump steak was cooked perfectly, had lovely flavour but was not as tender as expected. I felt the price of the dishes on the menu in the restaurant were overpriced. I was looking forward to seeing the roses in the garden. They had not been pruned to give another flush of flowers before the usual main prune. However, I understand that the weather has been extremely cold and wet lately so perhaps that is why it wasn't done earlier.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Farmhouse. We had 4 separate bedrooms and full kitchen, laundry, lounge and dining rooms. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and heating was on for our arrival as it was very cold on the evening we arrived. Our boys enjoyed playing soccer in the back yard. We all enjoyed Christmas Dinner in the hotel restaurant the food quality was great and service attentive. Thank you to the Barn team for looking after our family on Christmas night. We would have liked to stay longer.

Firstly we were towing a trailer, so we looked for ease of arriving at 9pm, the communication once booked online from the lady on reception who spoke with us while driving was excellent. So helpful explaining all the details, where to park, our room number, very polite, gave us a late checkout, fantastic service before we even arrived. On arrival everything was perfect, the spa room was simply stunning, clean, huge, just what we needed after a long 4 hour drive. We didn't get up early for breakfast but our take away coffee was delicious! All round we would highly recommend The Barn and will revisit to indulge in this most beautiful complex, with stunning gardens and top service.

Nothing it was perfect!

Stayed in room 12 - very big room with lounge/kitchen area. Beds were comfy. Restaurant was very nice and very popular but we were lucky to still get a table! Staff very friendly and helpful. Was a good stop over for us as travelling from Adelaide to Melbourne so we just stopped to shower, eat and sleep and it provided all of those things very well!

Was out of town but was ok for us as only stayed one night. You would definitely need a car to get into Mount Gambier
