Reception isn't 24/7 like we're used to in major cities but the evening Receptionist called us when he noticed it was almost closing time and we still hadn't checked in (and tried multiple times when he couldn't get through!) to make sure we were aware of this and made contingent plans in case we needed to check in after hours! We managed to make it there a few minutes before he closed up and he was super friendly and checked us in very quickly! The bathroom in our room was massive and extremely new with double vanity sinks and double monsoon shower and still plenty of space!

The coffee machine probably hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a while as we found a used pod still inside and the coffee tasted a bit off compared to similar machines we've used elsewhere with the same coffee pods. The "windows" in our room were the size of a microwave and was frosted over so there was light but no view. The room was quite large but very sparsely furnished with lots of awkward empty spaces and blank walls. Overall a really clean and efficient space for an overnight stay but definitely not a room that makes you want to stay inside of for long.

Location was great. Close to everything but not noisy at all. The park across the road is beautiful and it was an easy walk to restaurants and the harvest market. Our room with 1 king and 1 king single bed was spacious and parking was relatively easy. The bacon + egg muffin and coffee deal for $10 was fabulous!

The shower recess was large and spacious but the hand basin and toilet were very cramped. The fragrance in the supplied body wash, shampoo and conditioner was far too strong and not good for sensitive skin.

We had the breakfast to go which was reasonable for the price as we were waiting on our taxi to take us to the car hire pick up. We only used the hotel as our overnight stop as we arrived late in Launceston and intended to tour the island the next day. The late night access instructions were very clear and we gained access to our room without any dramas as all staff had left by the time of our arrival.

There was nothing to dislike for an overnight stop.

The room was great, the bathroom with walk in shower and rainwater showerhead was such a luxury. The accommodation was a reasonable price and they were accommodating with the 3 single beds. The beds were comfy and the room noise was good, we couldn't hear anything from outside or next door.

The fan in the bathroom isn't great so it steamed up. The bathroom cabinet needs replacing as it has water damage most likely as a result of the deficient fan. The toilet is too close to the wall.

Everything really. The coffee capsule machine in the room was a nice touch.

It was perhaps a little inconvenient that the hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday. I do understand the additional cost required to open on that day, but a lot of places to eat in Launceston are closed on a Sunday night and that's when hotel restaurants can be particularly helpful to visitors.

We liked the comfort and cosiness of the room.

There was no air vent in the bathroom, so it stayed wet after a shower. The floor in the shower was slippery and could be dangerous for an older person. Michael on reception was in training and he couldn't get it right to code our room key for three nights. We had to get it coded each time we tried to access the room. Needs more training.

Great location, wonderful staff, clean, great services and restaurants. I was able to store some luggage at the hotel while I was on an Intrepid Tour. I was very confident that it was in a safe place.

It would be great if they had a laundry facility that you could use by yourself in the hotel. They had a service you could send things out but that didn't work for my situation.

- The room was modern. Had a nice comfortable oversized bed - They offer plenty of free car park which is a big help if you are driving around Tasmania - Right across a very pretty city park, and within walking distance to the city centre and other attractions.

- Other reviewers weren’t kidding when they mentioned the noise. I’m not a light sleeper, but even then I was still annoyed with the noise coming from the road. Better ask for room that doesn’t face the street when you booked - Breakfast was pretty boring. Typical for mid range hotel like Mercure - We asked for our room to be cleaned, and when we returned in the afternoon, it is still not being done.

Great location across road from City Park. Easy car parking. Room and bathroom clean and modern- bathroom a bit tight. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good selection.

Room was a bit stuffy and dark- our room had trees outside that blocked natural light and window only opened 10 cm. There was AC to cool room though.

Stayed here twice, one night before and after a multi-day tour. Both rooms were identical and good for a short stay. Breakfast was good. The shower was excellent, one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. Would stay here again just for the shower. Also really liked the bedheads, which were printed with scenic shots from around the area. It was a great touch.

Not enough lighting in the room. Really needs at least a ceiling light in the main area of the room, not just at the door. There is street noise if you are on the road side of the hotel, but there were earplugs provided in the room if needed (I used my own).
