The place and staff are exceptional - super friendly, super accommodating. The place feels very peaceful and not like a busy motel or appearing clinically stereotypical of a hotel/motel. Good location to town and coffee etc. I had a flight leaving in the evening, and as there was space and it was not very busy I was allowed to use the facility and the common area until my flight. I was essentially allowed a free late checkout as my room was not being used. This was very helpful to me. I had a lovely conversation the girl who made my breakfast. The breakfast was simple, healthy and delicious - there was nothing wrong with it, although the only comment is that the salt had a fish-like flavour to it which is not my preference but nonetheless did not impact the stay in anyway,

We had an incredible stay at the Florance. We only stayed one night but wish we could of stayed longer. The property was just beautiful and had everything we needed. The amenities were great and the bed was so comfy - I had a great night sleep which was exactly what I needed for my half-marathon which I ran the next morning! The communication with staff was prompt. Kate allowed us to have a late check-out and was very accommodating. We unfortunately couldn't stay for breakfast but was provided with coffee/tea and cereal to fuel me before my run. We loved our stay at Florance and will definitely be back when we visit Launceston again. Thanks Kate and Toby!

Nothing - couldn't fault it!

The Florance is just opposite City Park which is a lovely place to walk and sit during the hot part of the day. It's also an easy walk to restaurants and to the Museum at Inveresk. Our room was very comfortable - it provided two suitcase racks; many places only provide one. We had a couple of armchairs so that we could sit in our room if we wanted, but the breakfast area also had seating and we used that on occasion. The room was also very quiet. The breakfast area is light and open and the breakfast provided was very much to our taste. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the old part of the house is lovely - what's not to like?

Very well organised check in, check out, breakfast instructions and provisions. Great maps and recommendations for site seeing etc. The crew were very friendly too. The common areas were very tastefully decorated which were enjoyable to relax in. Great location for walking to museums, shops and restaurants.

Disappointing to see plastic water bottles in the rooms when Australia's water is safe. The Florence could be ambassadors by providing a water cooler in public areas. Their positive young crew would be very capable of relaying any fears that visitors have over filtered water. I also didn't see any reminders about hanging up towels etc, composting, etc.

This is a beautiful building with well appointed spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms and rich with history. We had room 7 at the front of the house I overlooking City Park. Free parking out back, very accessible if you have mobility issues and very quiet with staff that are unobtrusive if you are looking for a romantic place to stay. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here. it is easy walking distance to most sights in and around the CBD, about a 20 minute walk to the Seaport and plenty of restaurants and hotels around for meals. Breakfast while we were there was a continental breakfast, with cereal, juice, fruit, toast and eggs if desired. Just lovely - thank you!

We loved everything - it was exactly what we wanted.

Beautiful property, immaculately clean with wonderful attention to detail. Super comfortable and the hosts Kate and Toby could not have been more helpful - especially when I arrived very early, super keen on my first visit to Launceston. They recommended an excellent walk, and I also discovered the best in Tassie design, beautiful gardens, excellent coffee - even a monkey or two! The gorge circuit was wonderful - and they even fed me breakfast on my arrival! So very kind - I will be back!

Quiet, homely, clean, friendly and close proximity to everything Will definitely stay here again Kate and team were incredibly responsive with any question. I was worried due to rooms and closeness to others you may hear people - but nothing but silence, and the beds were fantastic! The breakfast service was also a beautiful touch.

Nothing it was all perfect.

The owners/hosts were very helpful and made sure we were well looked after. Even though it’s an old building, it is well maintained. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the linen clean and the shower head was amazing. The breakfast was also well packed according to COVID measures. The conservatory is a lovely area to relax and have a cup of coffee/tea after a long day hiking/walking. The gardens are well kept with a small enclosed courtyard where one can chill out.

Nothing really except the bedroom door can be a tad squeaky.

Beautiful old building in a fantastic location. Room was well appointed and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable, and room was quiet overnight. Breakfast was delicious and served by friendly staff who happily made up a plate of eggs and toast to go with the coffee. Really it was too much food, but very delicious. There is room to sit and read the paper in the conservatory and a chemist located just next door.

Shower pressure was not great.

Great hotel packed with personality and history. Very comfortable and well presented with thoughtful touches such as restaurant recommendations based on what was open on the day of the week. Prearrival communication was also very good, with clear instructions for self check in.

Tiny observations, but would have liked the capacity to play music in conservatory, maybe an honour bar with small selection for a night cap and a way to warn others the (shared) iron is hot once you put it back. None of these detracted from overall enjoyment though. I’ll be back!
