Novotel Melbourne South Wharf

Comfortable bed, nice and quite room. Location is perfect.

Out of 3 elevators only 2 worked throught whole week! We stayed at 26 floor, we had to wait about 15 minutes every morning to get to breakfast. At breakfast there were no vegetables! I believe it is something basic which should exist at such expensive hotel. Furthermore, it seemed that the hotel was not ready to the amount of people who came to eat breakfast. Most of the time the tray with ham and cheese was empty. We asked to book a taxi to the airport at 4 am and the taxi did not arrived! Since the conseirge was not there we just took taxi by ourselves. But for such known chain of hotels to get booking reservation of taxi which did not arrived - I think it is a problem of a staff.

LOVE everything! Location, access to convention centre (this stay was for my Uni Graduation), i love that we didn’t even need to leave the building to get from Novotel to Convention Centre with the airlock connecting door. Stunning views, comfiest bedding, spacious, clean, modern, luxurious, brekky buffet option is fantastic & staff always professional & helpful! We stayed during the week of Christmas & the value for money was incredible, such a great priced accomodation! Nearby to shopping & many restaurants/bars, also short walk through the convention centre to Crown Casino / Southbank too!

The room is absolutely perfect, desk with outlets, outlets with USB on either side of the bed, massive shower with really good water temp and pressure, full wall window with eat to use drapes and curtains. When the false alarm happened they were quick to explain and help back to our rooms. Will definitely come back if the time calls for starting in the city

These are more like suggestions: -Having both a soft and firm pillow option would be great to have in the room. Plus maybe a smaller square one for a little extra height. - having a glass bottle of water ready in the fridge would be very useful to have if we wanted to drink water during our stay.

I couldn't fault my overnight stay at Novotel South Wharf. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room service was pleasing in terms of the time the meals took to arrive, and the location was superb for what I required. All pictures on the website were accurate, too, so there were no bad surprises when I arrived! I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Perhaps a discount offer for the public parking located alongside the hotel could be considered (even for a token amount). However, this is a relatively minor point - car parking options were clearly outlined prior to booking, so I knew what was available.

The location was so close to the Convention Centre (and DFO) which was perfect. We were there for an event and needed to be very close and you literally stepped out the front door and you’re there. Lovely clean and modern rooms. The beds were very comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The keys didn’t work and needed to be swapped twice. There are 2 lifts (one to get to reception) and then you have to walk to a second one to go to your room. Parking (at DFO) is $50 per night. Buffet breakfast cost $45 per person, so we skipped this!

Loved how clean it was. Great size, beautiful design amazing staff in the entrances, awesome view.

Unfortunately the restaurant was VERY overpriced and the staff were not great. One man was very rude to an Asian customer who was unable to speak English well and the way this man handled it was to palm it off to another staff member by unkindly asking her to deal with the Chinese man. We ordered our food to come out together. Mine came out and my wife was told hers was on its way out. And it took 20 minutes for a pizza to come out on top of what we already waited. Plus it was cold and uncooked, we weren’t even checked on for more drinks or anything at all once food had finally arrived.. So that was very disappointing and if we stay again won’t be using room service or the restaurant

It’s always amazing staying at Novotel, this is my second time here and it’s just as perfect as the first time. My partner and I stayed her for his birthday weekend, staff made it extra special upon request which was extremely thoughtful! The reception staff are always so respectful and helpful which makes the stay so welcoming, we stayed in the standard queen room. It was neat tidy and very spacious and of course had the most beautiful view! We will definitely be coming here again very soon as it is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Melbourne ! It was great to help Novotel celebrate 15 years !

Tv was limited as there was no Netflix available, which is understandable as this hotel has been around far before Netflix existed.

The room was well appointed and very clean and comfortable. The staff were all brilliant that I dealt with. The location was perfect as I was working at an event at MCEC, and the convenience is exactly what I was hoping for.

The room service was brilliant on the first night, however the second night my meal wasn't as hot as it should have been. The third night I decided to go up to the restaurant and ordered the same meal as the previous night to see if there was any difference and it was amazing, so I think perhaps the delivery of my meal on that second night just took too long after it was cooked.

The bed was comfortable and room temperature was good. Staff very friendly and made the stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble. The gentleman on the ground floor who directs people up the lift and he had a lovely mannerism. On the day we were leaving he provided us excellent service of booking a taxi and storing our bags until after our conference. When the taxi arrived he greeted us farewell and should be commended on his exceptional customer service.

It was confusing when we arrived and the reception was on 5th floor but the gentleman guided us to where we needed to go. The breakfast was not appetizing and the only coffee was do it yourself - i always like a latte to start my day - barista made.

The bar/restaurant was closed the entire time we were there. I did see a sign which I think said you could still order to your room but I feel like perhaps it would be good for the check in staff to mention/explain this. I did arrive an hour earlier than check in. I did not expect to be able to get into my room and was satisfied for you guys to store my luggage and contact me when the room was ready. I arrived a second time about an hour and a half after the check in time, and had still not heard from the staff that the room was ready, so I think my only criticism would be better communication from the staff to the guest. Everything else was absolutely faultless, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be back.
