Plough Hotel

Room and beds were comfortable and very well presented. Good to have parking available (although busy when I first arrived it emptied later in the afternoon.

The shower did take about 10 minutes to get the hot water through, then was fine, the hotel is well aware of this problem and hopefully it gets sorted. We were there on Sunday afternoon and night. You could hear the music from downstairs in the afternoon . Once the bar closed it was quiet. Some traffic noise but very low grade and not a problem.

Friendly staff, welcoming. Location as we were attending an event nearby. We walked and left the car at the property. Meals in the restaurant were exceptional as was the friendly, professional staff. Great value for money. Room clean and tidy.

Exceptionally firm mattress. No cushioning could use a mattress topper. Water pressure ok. Hard to regulate. Not a lot of parking. We arrived at checkin time 2pm. Carpark is shared with guests dining. We had to wait in our car until diners left, about 15 mins. Not a huge inconvenience but I think property should warn guests prior to arrival to alleviate stress as this is on a main corner with hardly any parking available nearby. Rooms are upstairs so you need to be able to walk up the narrow stairwell. I have a bad back staff carried my case which was much appreciated.

Convenient location: 20 min from CBD (with Bus or Train around the corner). Fast replying, clean room and easy check-in. Got a free upgrade !

Basic rooms, beds are a bit stiff but not uncomfortable. As the rooms are above the pub, bit of noise is expected. Nothing too crazy though especially during the week days it was all sweet. The thing that was a bit strange is that there’s no way to open the window. Room didn’t smell funky though !

The hotel was easy to find, the dinner we had at the on sight restaurant was extremely tasty, and the staff were super friendly - shout out to Dylan who was super helpful getting us situated and fed when we arrived! Check-in was simple, and the room was reasonably well appointed. It even had aircon!

I was under the impression that by requesting parking we would have had a space set aside for us, when we arrived it seemed that all patrons of the hotel (both restaurant and accommodation) had access to the same parking. We almost didn't get a spot, but luckily someone left shortly after we arrived.

Question 2 covers everything that I liked.

My only slight dissatisfaction was the check-in and check-out process. When I arrived at 2:30pm in the afternoon no one was present to facilitate the checking, the hotel was essentially shut, and I had to knock on the kitchen door to get some help. After the process was complete, I received a text message within instructions. I should have received the text message first thing in the morning. Check-out was also less than satisfactory. At 9:30 am I tried to organise a late check-out (my morning meeting had been rescheduled to the afternoon), but there wasn't anyone available to help with the process. Eric was very helpful once made contact at 09:55, but I'd already left the hotel and didn't get his text until about 10:30. I ended up hanging out at a cafe for four hours.

it’s really close to public transport, which is very convenient

I didn’t see one staff member at all. My room key was delivered by text message with instructions and that, at first felt a bit weird. I guess it’s due to the place is more a pub/restaurant than a hotel. Regardless it was a really quiet place to stay.

quite room with good space, comfortable beds. near to Middle Footscray Train Station as well as the Victoria hotel where i had my evening meal and Trouble in Dreams where we went for cocktails. Check out with the drop box for keys was easy.

i really cant think of anything, the mini bar was a bit high in price but i think you expect that with a mini bar. TV didn't have good reception on ABC but that's okay, lots of other channels to watch.

Easy check-in/out. Good size room. Good shower. Good tea selection with biscuits. Mini bar with beer and soft drink but no wine. Restaurant downstairs. Good off-street parking. Very reasonable price. Bed a double but pretty comfortable.

Not an issue for us, but rooms are up a short flight of stairs.

great location. the staff are very accommodating and willing to assist. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The room did smell a bit stuffy and didn’t have any fresh air, it would be good if one of the windows opened instead of having to turn the air conditioning on. otherwise great service. it is over a pub, I thought it would be a bit noisey, it wasn’t, very quiet.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable- looks just like the pictures! Location was great- there are shops, bars, and cafes nearby and a bus stop right outside.

Hot water was a bit variable- fluctuated between scalding hot and very cold. Also some instructions on how to use the air con would be helpful.
