The property and views are stunning. Our room was so cute and the pictures do not do it justice! Large room with beautiful windows that open, lovely restaurant and the grounds are wonderful for taking walks. Just below the property (about a 12 minute walk down the hill) is a little restaurant that had delicious soup and yummy coffee and croissants. A field next to it was filled with sheep and horses and a friendly cat. Breakfast was out of this world…The whole trip was magical for my daughter and I!

We speak only English so it was a little hard to navigate conversation with the staff, but they were mostly friendly. Unfortunately there was not a mini fridge in the room so do keep that in mind.

I love this hotel. Our room (20) had a breath-taking view of Salzburg, the castle, and the mountains. The breakfast was very, very good, with a wide assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, and fruit. Scrambled eggs are available. The coffee more than measured up to even my finicky demands. We ate multiple meals in the restaurant, and each dinning experience was just excellent. I love the hotel's locale. Sing the church is a must, as is seeing its cloisters that cling to the hillside. I enjoyed sitting on our balcony listening to the birds sing and smelling the hillside meadow. Staying here was a very peaceful and relaxing experience away from the crowds and bustle of Salzburg. To get to Salzburg, we drove to the Linzergasse parking facility, which is convenient to the inner city. I would be remiss if I did not say a car is a must to stay at this hotel. I would also be remiss if I did not tell you that the host did not charge us for two nights when we were delayed by a cancelled flight and lost baggage, for which we had to stay in Munich a night to get. The host would clearly have been within her rights to charge us for those nights. Her kindness remains a highlight of our trip. I will stay here again. Finally, I would note that staff at the hotel speak English if needed. Our stay here was a wonderful experience.

I cannot think of anything.

The hotel is located in a wonderful place with nice views around and Maria Plain church nearby. Fantastic place where to stay for a couple of nights and enjoy the surroundings.

Breakfast would be wonderful if eggs (at least in boiled state) would be available. On the other hand cheese selection was exceptional. Very nice and tasty with fruits or jam.

This is a beautiful stay if you are on a way to Alps (or back). It is a bit remote for Salzburg. Restaurant is part of the experience. Try it.

The hotel is a bit tricky to get to, but, again, this is a part of the experience. You cannot have both: accessibility and tranquility. I enjoyed the latter: the view is amazing.

We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of it: the view, the surrounding forest and plains with tracks and bike lanes, excellent breakfast with lots of options, the service, the staff, not too pushy, but there if you needed anything, the quiet nights, the fact that there is no music at the restaurant and you can actually hear and feel the nature around you. The rooms are spotless, spacious, with everything you need, same in the bathroom.

We liked everything, but just to be prepared, there are no shops nearby, only the restaurant of the hotel, which is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. This didn't bother us, on the contrary, we got to experience the delicious meals they have on offer.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel-Gasthof Maria Plain! The whole building and grounds are gorgeous and rustic. It is a bit up on a hill, making the view amazing! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, the breakfast was great, and everything was clean. All around very pleasant experience, and I would love to return :)

I think it's totally worth it considering the view, but if you're there without car, it's about a 20 minute walk, party at an incline, to get to a bus stop. Just something to keep in mind

We were simply captivated by the wonderful atmosphere of the several-hundred-year-old building. Great interior, carefully assembled old restored furniture. Just a walk around the territory of the monastery takes you back several centuries. The restaurant terrace offers a great view of Salzburg, while goats graze in the meadow below. It leaves a big impression. It is true that the hotel with the church nearby is clearly visible from Salzburg Castle. We also really liked the rich and tasty breakfast.

Nothing coming in mind.

The facility was well renovated. The shower room was super clean and had a nice modern design. The bed room interior was also lovely, it was like staying at a castle. Right above the hotel, there was a beautiful church. The hotel was located at the top of the hill, so It was a nice short walk around the area to see panoramic view.

Nothing to mention, but unfortunately the restaurant was closed on the day I stayed. I will definitely try the restaurant dinner next time.

This place is beautiful! It far exceeded our expectations. The staff was wonderful - especially the your woman who managed the very plentiful and excellent breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and the whole Gasthof felt very welcoming. We will be back.

On the first night here there was a band playing for a party immediately outside of our room (109) and the drums literally shook the door to our room. It was 10:30 when we decided to go down to ask to be re-roomed and the band stopped. My thoughts are that this room (which was literally right off the party room) should not be used on nights when there is a party. Our second and third nights there were quiet and peaceful.

The room was more than I expected, lovely view of Salzburg from the hill that Maria Plain sits on. Roomy and well kitted out. Property is well maintained and sufficient parking outside the hotel. Breakfast was adequate and plenty of choices.

No reception staff on arrival and having to access a box on a wall to access the the room key. It wasn't even a late arrival either, somewhere around 15:30. Would have been nice to have someone around to assist in getting the room. The place was deserted when I entered the property so if there was a problem with the room I would not have been able to address it with anyone until the next day. No restaurant open that evening either so had to drive back into Salzburg to find somewhere to eat.
