myNext - Summer Hostel Salzburg

Excellent value! The location is great, 10-15 mins walking to city center (or bus stop right around the block, if you wish). There is a small train station right next to the hostel, one stop away form Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. Staff at the reception always polite and helpful. There's bag storage available, also a kitchen and dining area, washing machines, etc. Beds are comfy, coffee and tea in the rooms were nice, appreciated the shutters and the fan (as it was quite hot during our stay, these made the rooms comfortable).

Some people might not like the noise from trains going by.

Fantastic location close to central Salzburg. We hired bikes and cycled on all 3 days we stayed there. It’s actually part of a university hall of residence so the rooms are set up for students. They are clean, basic, beds are comfy, they have a desk. There is a shared kitchen area and dining space.

We paid a huge amount of money to stay there- so little is available in Saltzburg. We needed two rooms and considering it’s not 5* luxury it is expensive. The rooms were basic and perfectly adequate however in the heat of summer with no air con the rooms are stuffy.

Great value and location. Easy to get from the airport by bus, reach old town by public transport or easy walk by the river. Clean and really comfortable. Groceries at SPAR just a few mins away. Great wi-fi. Staff was very helpful.

We were facing the railway station. It was really hot on those days in Salzburg, so we had to keep the windows open, as only a fan was available in a room (no a/c). The noise from the trains (esp. at night when cargo trains passing) was an issue for us. Don't forget your ear-plugs to be safe :)

The room itself was comfortable and clean and had a view of the river. Great for couples, friends, or families looking for a center base to explore Salzburg from, which is only a 15 minute walk from the hostel. Very easy to reach from the train stations as you can walk around 20 minutes to Salzburg Hbf or use the train station right next to the hostel. There is almost no noise despite being next to the railroad tracks and the river. Wifi isn't too bad.

It sometimes gets puffy in the room since there is no AC.

The room was a reasonable size and had the bonus of a full size fridge with freezer in the room. The property was very quiet at night. We did not use the kitchen, but the facilities looked good. The property is located a short walk of around 15 minutes from the centre.

The room has no air conditioning and it was extremely hot during our stay. A fan was in the room which helped, but it was still hot. The bathroom was quite small, but the shower was good.

The location was perfet for me. The hostel is situated at the river bank and there was a perfect walkway along the river to the city centre and a realy comfortable Bicycle path as well. If you need to take a bus, the nearest bus station is just 2-3 minutes walk. As I was traveling by train, it was very comfortable to come to Salzburg main train station and then take the S-Bahn (one station) just to the hostel. The accomodation was excelent - (I was accommodated in a double room) more than enough space, nice bath room, refrigerator with a small freezer, microwave, stove, sink, ... - a complete kitchen for my own. And a ventilator for hot days - perfect idea.

I was slightly surprised that when I have the kitchen in my room, I do not get my own kitchenware, dishes. However, it was easy to borrow some dishes from the shared kitchen nextdoor.

If the room is fully occupied,it can feel cramp (4 people is definitely a lot for that room, maybe 3 would be more manageable). Bed are like one ruler away from each other so may be uncomfortable for some Staff are students, so a hit or miss in terms of them knowing what you ask for (transport system info etc). Kitchen has no utensils, you have to buy these yourself which is bizarre to have a kitchen yet no knife, fork, plates etc to use?

Access to a kitchen and lounge area throughout our stay. Cheap bike hire, access to a fridge in our room. Location was idea for downtown Salzburg.

We stayed for three nights and were only issues with coffee pods for the first night. No air con bun the fan did the job. Quite near the station so a bit noisy during the day.

It's a students' residence converted into a hotel for everyone during the summer holidays : the room has two separate beds, two cupboards, a wide (double) desk with two chairs in front of the window, etc ; a private bathroom with shower. The ante-room also has a coffee machine and a kettle. All very neat and clean. Wifi everywhere. There is a "real" community kitchen on the first floor and also a laundry somewhere (not tested). The staff is young (probably local students) but very competent and helpful. Most the guests are young too so, for my friend and I - we are in our sixties - it was like a trip back to our faculty years. Very enjoyable.

Nothing

excellent staff. Large room for european standards, mini fridge, hot pot to make your own tea etc, comfy beds. Very simple facilities but also everything you need including a couple of big desks.

thought we were going to have a double bed but had two singles instead separated on each wall. Really clean except for a lot of dust on top of the bookshelves, cabinets etc (I'm allergic to dust). Further from town that preferred but not too bad- 15 to 20 minute walk to the old stadt which of course is very pretty.
