The beds were very comfortable and so I slept really well, the view over the water was fantastic, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. I'd recommend the breakfast, it was decent value and there were lots of choices. It was lovely to eat looking over the water too. The location was ideal, tucked away in a quiet corner, whilst being only a short walk to the centre and lots of Bruges' attractions.
I really enjoyed the stay so there's very little to say. The rooms were a bit smaller than they looked in the photos and because of the nature of the accommodation, you could clearly hear people moving about in the corridor in the mornings.

The room (cabin) was as adevertised and as I work on ships I liked it. The location was great for city centre, 15 min walk, and this was close to station, if needed, parking, if needed, and close to restaurants. You have to make sure you talk to staff about food if you want it as it is a small hotel and doesn't have a large restaurant so food is not readily available. Shower was ok the presure was a little low but it was manageable. Over all we loved the place.
Could be awkward if you forget to book your breakfast. Double bed was two singles put together, did feel a bit lumpy.

Location! The breakfast was amazing. Sleeping in a barge, on the water was fun.
My North American friends wanted separate beds. Given the small rooms this was not possible. The staff handled their disappointment professionally.

Excellent location, actually the location is super special, it is a barge on the water. There is no movement, but if you have a room onto the water, it is beyond special, just wonderful. Ducks will come visit you! Delicious breakfast, with smoked salmon, so not stingy and super-friendly helpful staff. Also, because you are outside of the very touristy part of Bruges, while being a perfect distance away, you don't get all the noise you would if you were in the city.
Poor wifi, not always available. If you take a room on the bottom floor, you will hear everything upstairs, as there is little sound insulation. I would get rid of the big desk chair in room 12, since it is difficult to get around the bed. The TV is at the wrong angle to actually watch it while lying in bed.

Lovely warm and comfortable cabin, bed very comfortable. Nice hotel barge, staff helpful and friendly. Extremely good breakfast offer. Good location, only 5 minutes walk to/from the train station. About 10 minutes walk to/from the main square, 5 minutes to closer local restaurants and where the ice rink is located.
Dinner menu rather expensive so we decided not to eat on board, sad as would have liked the convenience of that, had a walk to local restaurants. Is a restaurant barge next door to this hotel which is a bit cheaper. Hotel barge bar not cheap but then Bruges is not cheap, so not way off.

We were allocated room 38 right at the end of the barge overlooking the canal so no late-night revellers disturbing our sleep (and I'm a light sleeper, the slightest noise wakes me up!). It seemed a bit strange entering our room for the first time and seeing lifejackets laid out with towels on the bed but it's obvious why they are provided - and you won't get "seasick" as the barge is permanently and firmly moored! Breakfast is typical conti-hotel fare, limited hot selection but still a variety to choose from all the same. For once the pics you might see on booking.com are what you can expect. We only had dinner once as the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesdays but the rib-eye steak was superb! If I had a bigger appetite and fancied surf-and-turf I could have chosen my own lobster from the tank in the restaurant! Location - the hotel is well away from city hustle and bustle, and very quiet and peaceful, the barges that moor up on the opposite bank are barely noticeable (interesting to see their way of life, often with a car on deck for transport away from the barge). Walking into the centre of Bruges is a pleasant and almost level stroll through the Minnewaterpark (fight your way through the crowds of coach tourists gathering by the bridge), plenty of bars and eateries along the way. There are seven free car parking spaces opposite, including two 11kW EV charge points - first come first served. The hotel does have private parking but advertises this as costing €15 per night - maybe this is a deterrent to casual parking but pretty pricey all the same. Parking and charging is also available at the train station 300m away. All in all a pleasant stay and definitely recommended if you fancy staying somewhere a bit different from the usual concrete block hotels
Not so much a "didn't like" as an observation - bear in mind that the hotel is a converted barge which means that the rooms are smaller and more cramped than you might expect - it's not a sea-going yacht!

I liked the character of the stay - on a barge: What's not to like? I also appreciated the staff support, plentiful breakfasts, location for public transport and location for access to the city. Reception staff made an excellent job of sorting out some initial booking.com confusion over my request for twin beds.
There was some confusion around my initial request for twin beds. Whilst the initial request had been accepted by the web-site, I hadn't noticed the later notification that this request may not be achievable. I also made a note that advertised free parking may not always be achievable. Being on a wooden boat, we had to resort to ear plugs one evening / early morning due to someone (or ghost) pacing about in the cabin above. Otherwise the bedrooms were nice and quiet.

Having stayed here a few times before we knew what to expect.
Unfortunately the barge has lost a bit of its character, no atmosphere no one using the outside seating the bar and restaurant not attracting people. It used to be a real hub of activity but I guess since covid things have changed. It's a shame as the barge next door " The Mayflower" appears to have captured the passing trade. Perhaps it's time to give the barge a fresh lease of life.

Great value for money - easy stroll into the centre, the views were great from the boat hotel, rooms were small and compact but to be expected as staying on an old barge! The facilities were good, had a bar and restaurant with seating outside, very friendly staff and an excellent alternative to a small room in a city centre hotel! They had a couple of parking spots (suggest booking!) and EV charging opposite. The cost was relatively low compared to other places within the city centre and were pleasantly surprised by the quirkiness and welcoming establishment, everything was clean and staff couldn't be more helpful - recommended
The rooms are small, but to be expected considering it's a converted barge, more than made up for by the experience of staying onboard

The Hotel is actually a barge and the rooms are all cabins. They are decorated to match the boating theme with 2 life jackets on the bed. Although quite small, the room had everything we needed and was comfortable. The cabin had views of the canal and was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of items to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the centre via a route through the park by the river and through the old town. It is also only a 10 minute walk from the station.
The hotel has a restaurant but there are few other options to eat nearby so be prepared to walk to the centre for a wider variety of food options.
