I had a corner room on the top (4th floor), with excrllent view to the street and square. Really amazing view. Room is small, just for bed (that is pretty big, literally square!) and small table. Bathroom very basic and a bit outdated. But everything is very atmospheric, reminds Ameli movie. Breakfast is ok, nothing special but sufficient. Elevator is old-fationed (with doors at floors that you open manually) but well maintained. Stairs covered with marble and carpet. Excellent place to stay day or two and great place to make some photos!

La Royale occupies a handsome building straight opposite the station. The interior retains many original features, but has all the modern facilities you'd expect. All the staff (especially Steffi) were lovely and helped us to store our bags safely a few hours before check-in, allowing us to explore the wonderful city unencumbered by luggage. The range and quality of breakfast items was exceptional and set us up perfectly for the day!

Fantastic location in a beautiful old Flemish hotel directly opposite the railway station plaza and a very short distance from the Grote Markt and shopping district. Large comfy rooms and a reasonable breakfast with delicious croissants. Totally ideal for our girls weekend get together as we all had separate rooms with no single supplements at a very reasonable price.

My room was lacking a hairdryer and a full length mirror, which would have been welcome additions. One or two in the party found it a bit noisy on the Saturday night.

The hotel is perfectly situated near the train and bus stations, restaurants, a variety of shops and numerous historical and tourist type sights. The pricing is surprisingly low considering all parameters. Breakfast in the morning was amazing!

I was a little confused about where the actual hotel reception/office was, but I was also tired from several days of travel, so it was probably more me than them.

Most of the hotel staff were nice. The rooms were not large but were very convenient, especially if you are lucky enough to get a view of the square. Breakfast was superb. Wifi gave us no issues. Lift very convenient. Location cannot be better - extremely close to bus and train station.

Some bathrooms are a little too small and not all bathrooms have a handheld shower (a problem for those who don't want to wash their hair). Not all staff could speak English or German. Bar and front restaurant close quite early (around 10).

Location in front of the station is excellent. Check-in went smoothly and staff were friendly. View from my window on the station square was open and entertaining. I enjoyed being able to fully open the windows and have the spring air come into the room - not something that is always possible in hotels. The room itself had high ceilings, giving it a spacious feel, even for a single. It was functionally decorated and comfortable. Perfect for a one night stay. I got a hairdryer to use from the reception. I had to leave early so I did not have the opportunity to taste the breakfast. I would visit again though, because it had everything that I needed for my stay.

Come prepared and bring earplugs! Spring weather had started, and the room was warmer than I had anticipated. Having a room at the front, opening the window meant that I had the outside noise coming in (glad the fancy fair wasn't on that evening), and at 5.30 the tables and chairs on the terrace were being arranged. There was no tea/coffee facility in the room itself.

A very central hotel next to the Station and close to the city Centre. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the breakfast. The price was ok. Wifi was stable. I would book again.

The room was a bit small and the bathroom and toilet was outside, where I had to cross the hallway. Unfortunately the hotel had no slippers to cross the hallway.

Excellent value-for-money in a great looking building and very central close to the city centre and other nice places to go in the city. Everything at walking distance. Rooms are neat with all the basics available. Excellent breakfast.

Nothing, everything was more then fine. I would totally recommend this hotel.

Location is very good, also cleaning and the staff in general is very helpful. The breakfast is various, and of good quality. The bathroom is very clean and functional, in a very large room (almost larger than the room itself)

Even if the room dimensions where clearly declared from the beginning, when I arrived the first impression was "this is a very small room". But honestly it is more than enough for my needs. The bathroom is very large, the only thing that I was missing was an hair dryer.

An elegant building opposite the station and 15 mins walk from the centre. My room was at the front with a nice view but there was some street noise on Sat night. Breakfast included fresh bread, cheese, meat, eggs, sausages and bacon and was served in a nice room at the front. Also surprisingly good coffee from a machine. Great vfm.
