The breakfast was excellent, we know Holiday Inn Express is only continental breakfast but this hotel offers more than that. They also served cook food scrambled egg and toast, which is very important for my husband's breakfast. The staff really working hard, they open from 7 to 10:30am and continue refilling the buffet. The reception was very helpful, confident and knowledgeable. We asked to leave 1 luggage to keep, because we are going to Santiago and come back to stay again with them. No hesitation Duarte took the bag down and gave me a tag to keep for reclaim. Carlos was also excellent, every morning we ask for a taxi going to our full day tour. We don't want to be late so he arranged it without fail. He keep an eye for other guests who does not request and just jump in. In total we had a nice stay with them. Location wise this is the best hotel location and even though very busy outside our room is very quiet.

The management should have a routine maintenance of the rooms. First time we stayed for 7nights the last 2 nights we reported that our shower tray does not drain properly. But nothing happen until we have checked out. We came back and stayed again for 3 nights the room (different room) was clean but the shower head bar handle is broken, and cannot adjust the direction of the shower head.

The hotel lobby and rooms are clean and modern. The air conditioning and elevators worked reliably. The staff were extremely polite, great with many different languages, and generally pleasant to encounter. There have been many reviews commenting on the inadequacy of the free breakfast. I can attest that the breakfast had MANY different food choices, even a hot option (scrambled eggs). While most of the offerings were breads and pastries (the mini croissants were a standout as were the pastels de nata), there is also yogurt, cereal, many juices, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, jams…. Coffee machines for many kinds of coffees, espresso to lattes, etc. I had a delicious breakfast EVERY day. And the common area was open late. Located On R. Santa Catarina, the location was excellent A short walk to the Bolhão metro station and the Mercado do Bolhão as well. There is even a mall for shopping- Via Catarina. Hot tip - go to the rooftop bar at the mall (floor 14) to see a spectacular sunset and get your dance groove on if you feel so inclined. The Holiday Inn Express City Center, Porto, was great value and even better location!!!

Location was great. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast Good pastries, okay fruit but could be improved. Coffee machine delivered horrible cappuccino.

I have mobility problems and use a wheelchair so had requested an Accessible room. In general this was comfortable but the shower had (as is often the case) been set up without consulting a mobility challenged person. There was one hand rail on the far wall but nothing at all to hold on to to walk the 1.8 metres to that hand grab. When using the shower, the hand rail was behind you. A good item was the folding down seat. The hotel needs to add handrails onto the other two sides of the shower space to make it safe. I told the receptionist about this and showed her photos.

Location was great - central and walking distance to everything. Breakfast was good - selection of pastries and breads was nice and bonus of eggs which we didn’t expect. Great aircon in room. Clean room with super comfy beds. Comfortable bathroom with toiletries. Iron in room was really helpful. Staff were friendly and we could store our bags on the day we checked out.

Breakfast area was small and busy. Coffee was not good - used milk powder instead of fresh milk. TV channels weren’t great - limited English channels. Tap water was not cold and no fridge in room.

I loved 😍 everything, the hotel is located at the center of metro station Balhao and close to shopping area, historic places and food facilities. I recommend this hotel especially because is very convenient for turist to move around different directions. The hotel was very clean and staff very nice. The breakfast is very light, but a lot of choices for different types of coffee, chocolate which I found wonderful. I still going to give 5 starts.

Location was great. Close to everything, 3 minute walk to the metro station. Staff was really friendly. Breakfast was also good even though it was always the same, but that's what you expect from a 3 star hotel. The room is really comfortable. Amazing bed. I loved my stay.

Sometimes when people would close their door the walls would tremble. It scared me in the beggining but then I got used to it. I don't know if this happened to someone else, or if my neighbours just closed the door too hard, but it really wasn't much of a deal.

breakfast was very good and the staff on reception very helpful. However we did not get rooms together as requested. The main issue though was that we asked if you could book a taxi to return to the airport for 6 people. You were told none were available and we needed 2 cars. However the 2nd car that came was in fact a 6 seater!! we paid for 2 cars unnecessarily. It spoilt the trip a little we felt like we were tricked. I dont think this was your fault but maybe you should use a different taxi firm in future.

Room facilities, overall design, lights in the bathroom (!) Comfy bed, tasty breakfast. Good cofee. Cleanliness. Location - very close to the historical centre, market, shops, subway station.

Too small breakfast hall, so sometimes overcrowded. Also a bit more staff cleaning tables, and bringing foods from the kitchen would be appreciated. There were only two ladies, working very hard, serving over 20 people at the same time. Breakfast was a little monotonous (we stayed for 3 nights).

Inconsistent communication,when I checked in I spoke to Ruds ? Ask if it’s possible to have a late check out , she said yes until 2 pm. On the day of our check out July 23 ( we stayed for 6 days ) someone from the desk called us that our check out time is 12 noon and is already over . If I was told that it’s not possible, then I will leave on time.It’s just a little inconvenience for me as we have to hurry up in packing our clothes.

Brilliant location - close to some of the main shops and restaurants- but not so close that it is noisy at night. There was no noise from outside so I had a very pleasant stay. Staff are very helpful - I felt very welcome by Diana and her colleagues.

I think there could be some variation in breakfast - adding some new things each day amongst the staples. It would've been nice to be able to open the bedroom window. I'm not sure why this isn't possible.
